  1. Except the fact that you don't need to purchase the DLC for Arma because they give it to you for free, the 'Lite' versions, so that you can continue playing on servers that are running the full DLC. This is very much unlike any modern shooter that splits communities because of map packs.. etcetcetc
  2. Then why did you decide to toss out an insult? I've even said that you guys are more than welcome to have this "solution" if they made it along side what we already have so people can choose. So I assume you're just ignoring what I'm saying, even the part where I tell you why this "solution" wouldn't even work in the first place. So I think you're the one missing key points. At the least missing points that everyone else makes and only focusing on your own or Cibers, while dishing out insults which doesn't bring much to a discussion board. Considering multiple points have been made saying why this hold spacebar function would not work, and no comment about it then I assume you've agreed that holding spacebar would be more flawed than the current scroll menu which is good because thankfully we won't see it changed anyways. Thankfully we've finally agreed on something
  3. Because insulting somebody is the best way to get your point across. This solution would not work, because the only way to get out of the menu is to release spacebar and select something, sometimes I open the action menu and I can exit it with right click, without choosing anything. Have the Hold spacebar solution would not provide such a thing, because you would have to actually highlight something and release spacebar to close the menu thus selecting something that I didn't feel like selecting anymore. Plus I'm not against the idea if they want to add it along side the scroll menu so people can choose if they want to old space bar or just press it. But I guess if you want to be a complete jerk and utterly forget everything about what it's like to show someone respect then that works too. Stick to Call of Duty, you do can everything you want by simply pressing E, and have zero freedom over your controls and actions.
  4. Well let's look at this situation. If the only way to open and close the menu is by holding space to open, then releasing to choose a selection, and you're holding it because you're about to make a selection, but then in the corner of your eye you spot an enemy, now you told the game you're ready to make a selection, and the only two selections you have are reload and change to pistol, but now you want to cancel the selection but you can't because you have to release spacebar to do so, but that is either going to reload or take out your pistol either way you're dead. Current set up, I want to take out my pistol, i roll the scroll wheel to open the menu and highlight the pistol, but before hitting spacebar to select i notice an enemy in the corner of my eye, i right click to close the menu, nothing is selected i still have my rifle out and now I'm ready to fire, I right click to zero in on him and i kill him. Which one sounds better to you? P.S. Spacebar isn't the only way to open the menu, simply scrolling with the wheel will open it, which is how I do it. basically everything involved with the scroll menu is done on my mouse. Saying they have to train themselves to right click to close the menu is like saying they have to train themselves to left click to shoot their weapon. Regardless, every game you play you have to accustom yourself to it's controls.

  6. Releasing spacebar + clicking right click = Two Actions. Double Clicking Right Click = Two Actions. Seems just as streamlined to me. However if they want to make it so you can select in the options to make it toggleable or not then by all means. But I don't see them doing this.
  7. But nothing is being changed, your just holding space, its still a scroll menu.
  8. You say that like the scroll menu is always open.. if your scroll menu is open just right click if you need to close it, don't use back space. How is holding spacebar a compromise? I believe you like this idea because you believe it's hard to leave the scroll menu once open because you have to hit backspace, but all you have to do is right click. probably takes about the same time to release space bar to exit the scroll menu as it does to right click.
  9. What i was going to say, you don't need to hit backspace, just right click.
  10. Alot of things have multiple actions when you look at them. Plane - Flaps, landing Gear, but these also have key binds Helo - Pilot, Co-Pilot, Ride in back, Gear Vehicles - Driver, Ride in back, Gear Dead Bodies - Rearm at Dead teamleader only rearms what you already have, Gear to open gear, sometimes weapons have to be picked up seperately now from the body, open bag You can also look through a teamamtes bag while he's alive So no ONE interaction key would not cut it, that's why we have the scroll menu in the first place.
  11. I really see no better way then the scroll menu. Radial menu seems way more clunky and a set up for disaster. Voice Commands would be something to look into to have alongside the scroll menu possibly, but I'd probably still use the scroll menu.
  12. All you have to do to open a door is look at it and hit space, you don't even have to use the scroll wheel, there are various instances where all it takes is a tap of the spacebar, no scrolling etcetcetc. I don't understand your analogy. How do you even turn a hinge? If it takes you 10 minutes to find a mapped control, I think you need to get your eyes checked, or maybe you're just reading at a 1st grade level. For what it's worth i see a radial menu being even more clunky.. hold space, move mouse to selection, mouse detects wrong axis, can't get mouse to select correct selection, let go of space, load blanks into my gun instead of STANAG, die. Or, hold space to select something, in the heat of combat, don't check to see if selection is checked just assume, let go of space, take out pistol, flanked, die. Now if your idea was voice commands, that might be actually be worth a discussion.
  13. maybe you should go fill out those tax returns then.
  14. First you explanation is that there is no way to get out of a vehicle other than the scroll menu. Then when proven wrong your explanation is "There is no connection between those two options." What? This is a video game where you press buttons to do things. Not a game of connect the dots. But if that's really a problem for you, you could always change the keys to make them "connected".
