    ArmA 3 Not Starting

Sounds like you shouldn't play Alphas because they contain stability issues and you appear to not be able to control your rage. You lose sir.
  2. I really don't think you are giving the BIS dev team any credit. They are not that stupid and they will look at all these issues and queries. It's fine to state that this seems to be an issue and its been logged to be fixed. How many times does it need to be said. This is an ALPHA...................................Take a step back, take a breath, have a cigarette. The world as we know it isn't going to end because the ALPHA version of arma 3 isn't 100% realistic. BIS are not going to come out and say any specifics on this topic yet because AGAIN its not their main point of focus at this time. It's all about stability right now. If the game wasn't stable you would be complaining even more than you already are because you wouldn't be able to play it full stop.
  3. But it makes perfect sense to sort an issue like that out in the Alpha and not the Beta....Adding things like new models and fixing crashing is always going to come before specific tweaks to player characteristics like sprint speed in an Alpha.
  4. Have you tried just using: hint "yourmessagehere" on the activation and deactivation of triggers?
  5. It is in this video: "1" objStatus "DONE"; tskobj_1 setTaskState "SUCCEEDED"; player setCurrentTask tskobj_2; obj_1 = true; publicVariable "obj_1"; when you set the objective to SUCCEEDED it flags the task as complete, you also have the options to set a task to alternatives... http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setTaskState "Succeeded" "Failed" "Canceled" "Created" "Assigned" I recommend you re-watch the triggers 1 & 2 + objectives video again. I had no idea how to do it before I watched.. after I watched it a tried it I got it working.
  6. Whilst I agree with a lot of the things you are saying, IMO they should be focussing on stability and crashes first... This will be the first time that A3 has been really stress tested and working in a software dev company myself I understand 100% why that's the main point of focus. Realism and simulation issues I think will mainly be config changes to existing scripts etc... I think once they iron out crashing and stability they will then address tweaks to realism. Lets face it, if it kept on crashing constantly everyone would be complaining about that and you wouldn't even be able to test the realism. I would guess Alpha for stability fixing, Beta for realism and config changes?
  7. have you got in the ACT field: helicopter_name land "LZ" -LZ being the name of your invisible landing pad. I also set the load waypoint to careless as well even though its set before...
  8. Check out this guys youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/eclipse245/videos?query=arma+2. It helped me a heap especially with creating tasks and objectives. Just go through all his videos in order and you will understand it much more :)
  9. Well I'll be the first to admit I have never been in that situation... I guess it all comes down to where you draw the line between realism and playability. I think its a pretty good balance as is, I'm sure they could make it more realistic and turn the head bob way up and make the player stumble all the time but imo it would probably become just unplayable for me anyway.
  10. I'm really not the most creative person at the best of times with a fish named fishy and a cat named Mr. Kitty.....I have made a few missions here or there in a2 and a3 but there all the same thing, kill target, hostage rescue etc... I was interested to know how you guys come up with ideas for a mission? :)
  11. Couldn't agree with you more. The movement in buildings and stairways only seems fast because its so fluid...( a welcomed change IMO). I am confident they will fix the sprint speed, it is an alpha after all and that's why they released it to get feedback and work on it. And lets face it, in A2 they were so slow and retarded at walking up stairs and through doors, realistically if your were being shot at you would be hauling ass to make it through a doorway and not be sticking to an ideal walking speed.... Love arma 2 and arma 3 already, cant wait for the finished mission editor :D:D
  12. Ahhhhh I see I see. Perfect thank you, i will test this out when i get home :)
  13. Thanks mate, I didn't know that a feedback tracker existed. I'll look into it. :) Hi Mattar, My method is quite similar.. -Heli in editor with my guy loaded in there with incargo command. + flyinheight set to about 80 -MOVE - MOVE - TR Unload (with command [Helicopter land "landing pad name";]) -HOLD --TRIGGER SWITCH set to Alpha Radio-- -MOVE -TR Unload back at base (had no tried GET OUT) so it never goes to that MOVE after the Trigger Switch (or even a timer). the pilot just decides he's had enough lol. Fly's off into the sunset. :P
