  1. Romeo, if you want more control over unique units I can highly recommend ASR_AI3. It allows us to manually set unique skill properties for each type of unit. Happy to provide our HPP for reference below... Note we play on VETERAN so this might not be the right level for you, and is easily tweaked to suit This is ideal for Profiled ALiVE units as it will apply the correct skill type for a sniper versus a grunt etc etc. Note I have turned OFF the other AI elements at line enabled = 0; // All the other settings of this class matter only if we have 1 here This is so it doesn't potentially conflict with bCombat Only slight downside to this system is that CQB spawned units are spawned client side so unless your buddies are all running the EXACT same settings you will not apply server AI values. I believe this is being worked on as a selectable feature i.e. Server/HC/Client Hope that helps SJ

  3. Question: is it possible to configure at what range burning vehicles will injure you - 25-30 metres seems a little excessive to say the least and is mighty frustrating. Cheers for any pointers as to how to fix this to 2-3 metres max ? Thanks SJ

    I really want to use this pack it's just not compatible with any other weapon pack. Somehow it stops the sounds from those weapons... i.e. you cannot hear anyone else shooting ? Not just me that get this, pretty much my entire clan cannot use it with for instance Massi's Nato Weapons pack ? SJ

    We use ASR_AI3 as a brilliant way to individually manage an AI unit skill level, ie Snipers and marksmen are better shots, better at spotting, etc SF are good all round, Rebels are weaker in most skill areas. But currently I have the other AI elements set to 0. bCombat does most of the other Ai routines. HOWEVER the grenade bit you mentioned is an error within A3 preventing them from Fragging your A**E :) I'm not sure the bCombat element is affecting AI skill, but if you can show me where (probably best on the bCombat thread, as i don't want to off topic Robalo's and indeed I Don't check A2 threads often) bCombat and ASR are both supposed to "radio", perhaps there's a conflict. One thing for sure is that ALiVE is doing something funny with CQB spawns in MP. It spawns the Ai on Client machines... not sure whether randomly or what, but this DOES render server side Ai mods useless for these ai.... Anyway see you over on the relevant threads... SJ
  9. you forgot GAIA... Written by Spirit for MCC not sure what the release eta is but I'm assured it's impressive. I've yet to see how it integrates or if it can integrate with the likes od ASR and bCombat, but it's going to be fun finding out :) SJ EDIT: just need to challenge the SP only on bCombat. Many servers including our own ALiVE server are running this fine on a Dedicated MP server. It wasn't originally designed for MP - some of the animations it adds won't work, but the Ai pathfinding, Hunting you down, entering building etc etc, taking cover and fortifying a building DO work fine.

    Isla Duala Lingor and Dingor do have errors sometimes. But I think that IcreBreaker is working on proper A3 versions (yay!)

  12. This Client side versus Server side is a concern for us too. How does ALiVE decide which client to spawn on. Does it pick the first player unit within spawn range, or does it pick the client with the fastest connection/ biggest bandwidth ? If the client disconnects from the dedicated what happens to the spawned CQB units ? We could in theory require the AI mods to be run Client side, but there is a risk they will be changed or potentially abused. This is quite complex to manage/administer. Is it at all possible to move the spawns to a HC instead (I recall it was on the plan) or even ensure they are server side only ? SJ

    Brilliant... looking forward to seeing the fixes MS One thing I've been thinking about, how could mod builders be better involved - so they create profiles for their mods as part of the release process ? Something similiar to the way in which Sickboy loads on a "here is your mod loaded, come and take ownership" etc etc. It's frustrating having to unpack mods without the proper config structure or indeed with no images internally, it would be excellent to get this more streamlined? Or more widely accepted within the community? LEA has to be one of the key if not THE most convenienct mod anyone can run. But 9/10 cats have never heard of it, or know what it does. Hence the VAS box rush every mission start. SJ

    Not sure what your point is ? :) Being a script doesn't make VAS any better.... not if it's taking people 10 minutes to access their stuff. If admins are worried about people joining with mods, well, that kinda solves the VAS problem as a vanilla only VAS box doesn't take 10 mins to load. Got lots of mods, use LEA (or insert equivilent here). Want to restrict weapon and loadouts, stick with Vas - and avoid the loadout wait. It's slightly off topic I suppose, but I would still rather have less but BIGGER all inclusive mods - than literally hundreds of potentially conflicting smaller packs. My community would 100% back that up. It's almost impossoble to get more than 10 or 20 mods locked down as requities as it is..... sigh SJ
  17. Hmmm, pretty sure I've seen exactly that... All the units repel down on their own ropes ? Takes too long otherwise and is a danger to all in the aircraft ? SJ
  18. We were using that version of CBA, but I think it is considered an old version now. Check you have the latest version - might solve you issue. Might also want to try a "Check file Validation" in steam, might be that you have a damaged A3 install ? Dunno, but worth the 5 mins to check Good luck with it, nothing worse than a bug, but we run almost the identical setup as you with probably more mods on-top with no issues, so it's sure to be a local issue.     not wishing to poop on anyone's parade. But with LEA why are people still even using VAS ? LEA is so much easier to configure, arrange by Unit profile and indeed takes about 0.5 seconds to activate once you're ingame with no more waiting at the VAS box.. JMHO :) All in one for me please, easier to get most communities to actually use a mod if it's one big pack. SJ

    Yep we're using it with bCombat and ALiVE but I'm thinking our version is very old. (we've been using it since before final release!) i.e. the version I found here http://arma-sr.bzbit.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/asr_addons_13081701.zip Robalo is it possible to allow us a link to your latest version ?
