  1. Why not raise a feature ticket - Allow an init code, specified as part of an existing module or indeed another module. That lets ALiVE run additional custom code on units it spawns in.. Might be possible. Otherwise I don't think you can init them - unless you set to not profile SJ
  2. Gav - not sure you can using alive placed modules. They will spawn units as per the config.. you'd need someone to write that config for you. i.e. units in snow camo. For manual placements just use LEA to dress them anyway you like - alternatively the spetsnaz or Uk SF had snow camo in it I think... - just not as a discreet unit config Alive will call on it's own. LEA definitely works, I've got syrians running around with gas masks that LEA propagates SJ

  7. Makhno, I've been asked to port our public missions onto your map - I've been a fan of the jungle maps BTW since your FSF jungle So It's a request I'm happy to take on. HOWEVER I cannot do it until the environmenal sounds bug is fixed. Please could you take a look at this ? It's easy for those in the know to turn map packs on and off, but it will kill it for the average public user. He'll have monkeys chasing him around Altis otherwise. Could you please confirm if this is something you are actually looking to impliment ? I'm not asking for a timeline - just an understanding of it's coming. That way I can work on the mission get it running and tested and then release when the sounds are corrected. Thanks - you'd make a very happy Royal Marine Brigade that want to test out their Wood Dpm !! SJ

    Thanks Sonsalt. I think someone just missed the options folder from the upload. I'm reverting to USSR and AFF vehicles with Syrian Leaders to hold their faction as Opfor - for the moment it works, so the mission won't be a bust, but is a little clunky. SJ
  13. You'll get told this is in the wrong place, but I would suggest ASR_AI could do it, or bCombat - it depends where you are spawning the ai, that's where the mod needs to sit. There are some newer (older) mods Like GL5, but I have no experience of them yet... worth checking out for sure. Good luck and prepare to be told off. SJ

    Yes it was removing the optional PBO's etc from the addons folder if you had copied them, but the options folder was there. Now it's not at all. If you roll versions back it re-appears. SJ

    Absolutely for it.. Combine them - and allow PW6 to do all the work re pre-requisites. Simplifies all the manual copying and pasting - ( I know this should be simple but reality is that many of the players on my server get it wrong time and time again ) Great job Drongo btw to get the new vehicles in... Really excited to see them in action - any chance they will be ready before Sunday? - we have an op Against the SAA sunday evening and it would be cool to get them in :-) Makes the SAA pack pretty much the most well equipped - but what about some Hinds / Mig 23's ? Not sure what's available in the way of migs, but there are Hinds out there. The other logical bit of kit would be Shilka based Tracked AA... or some static Heavy duty AA launchers ? Syrian's still use the SA-6 missile system, the 2k12 Kub... that might be a fun addition ? Edited to add: apparently they have these.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pantsir-S1 Not sure if they were ever modelled. I do recall seeing them done for A2... Would be pretty unique bit of kit for sure. They also have Scuds, which could be interesting from a mission planning POV.
  18. Thanks guys. I couldn't get the video to play last night when I commented but did finally get it to run to the bit where it shows the info on the Helicopter etc. Very clever.   21. scrim, I'm not demanding anything ? - I think my posts were all pointing out that some people just don't get it... Repos are a good idea - but require additional workload etc etc. My ideal objective would be inclusivity for everyone from the moment the mod is ready and released without needing an admin to host a special version. That's all :-) I know there will always be compromises. LP, I do deal with it, on a daily basis... and I deal with if for50+ guys in a clan... Most of my weekend, it seems, is spent either fixing their installs remotely or trying to get the maps I build to work for them - I fully accept this challenge. "teadious" you GOT it in one.... hence my whole argument.. I want to play the game with guys not spend 2 hours deleting their R-sync folder and watching PW6 struggle to download a mod it already thinks it's got because they've been adding the files to the wrong folder.... Some of the best guys I've played with are older (like me!) and they would be the first to admit they couldn't drive a pc if their lives depended on it, which is why I help them. However it's in all of our interest surely to point out when something is causing an issue for some people... ? Do we have to deal with it, or should we point it out ? Perhaps there is a clever fix we wouldn't spot otherwise. I'm not trying to be difficult I'm simply pointing out that not everyone is as savvy at this stuff as you guys all seem to assume - personally I see advantages to that, it keeps kiddies away who cannot be bothered to learn how to get to mods installed so they can go a grief a server. But equally it's disabling for other people taking their first tentative steps into the modded world. I guess I will continue to use the version without Hex's I suppose... I'll get over it :-) That's probably enough Off-Topic

  25. I wish that were true.. it's a piece of P*** from my perspective, but EVERY week it's the same. EVERY new starter or recruit needs almost crippling levels of technical assistance to get up and running. Reality is you need to dumb it down to the Lowest common denominator or accept that some people will just not get it without help. SJ
