Just wanted to jump in and agree with this. I really don't know the "best" way to change it though. I do that some serious texture changes may cause even more performance issues. Many players already have problems; making grass render at far ranges would be a nightmare on even good systems. All I know is that I can spot a guy a thousand meters away standing out on a side of a hill like basketball player in a crowd.

That looks great, but since I already have performance issues, I wouldn't be able to use it. Nice work!

As Winfernal said, buy it now, even if you choose to wait til beta, just for the price cut alone. The alpha is plagued with issues, cheating being a large one, but I'm still enjoying it. Also, I like to test it and make my voice heard on issues I care about in the game.

Disable the development build, there are several threads on this topic now.

I just disabled the development build, waited for Arma 3 to download a small file, and then everything was fine.

Do all of you have the development build enabled? I think it be might that, as I have the same issue.

I've used both Fraps and Afterburner, no problems here. Perhaps it's a symptom of another issue.

Of course you should. It's a good game series from a good developer. The game has plenty of problems right now, but that's why you get a deal.

Just speaking up to add my voice to the mix. Same problems here. I have above the recommended for everything except video card which is still well above the minimum, and the game is nearly unplayable on most multiplayer servers. It doesn't seem to matter what I try to tweak, nothing seems to work much. You can also use MSI Afterburner, which is free.
