Is there a mod that makes ARMA's planes more comparable to DCS A-10? I do enjoy some Hardcore simulation, and I think that playing ARMA with an ultra realistic plane would be very interesting and enjoyable. thanks

This converted me And this is an ARMA 2 montage that I made, some of my COD friends seemed very impressed with the visuals.

What is fundamentally wrong with the underwater combat?
Saliiim replied to Tonci87's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Your lungs are rather buoyant after all, and your legs less so. -
I think building it around the PS2 concept would fail. Although, I do enjoy the 'invasion and Annex' mission in ARMA 3, although I think that may be partly due to me not being part of a group yet and experiencing the more team based side of ARMA.

Thanks for posting this, it has solved the issue for me.

Steam Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Quacktics Are most ARMA groups too regimented, strict and impersonal for you? Are public servers too silly and not team oriented enough? This is the sweet-spot you want. I've been playing ARMA since the release of ARMA 2 and a few friends and myself have tried playing some Coop missions, but it just isn't that fun when there are only 6 of you. So! I am here to ask for a few people to join my band of merry men and have a laugh in ARMA 3 with us. I've made a series of missions that will take around half an hour each, and have the potential to satisfy Chopper pilots, FACers, Infantry-men and Light Armoured folk. There are no expectations, all I ask is that you work as a team and don't be a *insert favourite rude word here*. If this goes well, this might become a regular thing. Microphone is not a requirement as such, but it is highly highly recommended, and I'll prioritise people with microphones over those without. (Even on public servers ARMA is more fun with a microphone, I recommend it.) If you're interested, let me know. Oh yes, and our name... is... Quacktics. I forgot to mention, we currently are based in the UK, however, the plan is to schedule games to suit where a majority of our players are. Of course, there is scope for members to organise games with other members without me being involved. If the Americans in the group, for example, fancy a game that would clash with my beauty sleep. I intend to be the starter of the group, but not necessarily it's leader. Edit For reasons that I don't understand, you are not allowed to reply to this thread or show your interest through it, so send me a PM or better still, contact me on Steam. -
First Person it, it's actually easier, and a lot of servers will force it anyway. Subtle movements with the mouse, the keyboard is only for the throttle, and the very occasional left/right imput. Don't bother with the showcase. go into the editor and give yourself an MH-64 (the US helicopter), it's much more agile and responsive, so great for beginners. Just fly around in the editor picking spots to land on, starting easy then getting harder, (such as starting with "some where on the airfield", to "on that really narrow street"). Flying helicopters in ARMA take a metric shit-ton of practice, so you'll have to be patient, don't expect to be hovering near the the edge of Mosques' roofs loading civilians into the chopper within a few hours. Which brings me onto another topic, avoid auto-hover. Yes it's great for noob pilots when they want to land, but you won't learn anything, just avoid it and land that chopper like a bauus. Landing is the hardest thing, mastering that will give you a lot of control over your bird, so then you can move onto things such as ground attack. ---------- Post added at 20:40 ---------- Previous post was at 20:39 ---------- Really? I find the opposite is true. Although it might just be that I have a little bit of lag between input and movement, because my computer sucks.

What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?
Saliiim replied to Yett71's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
After I'm done with A-levels I've £400 to spend on a PC, so I might be able to build a PC better than my laptop and upgrade it when I start working. I can't wait to get a new PC, my laptop struggles with games and blender :( -

I absolutely love it. But, there are two things that have sourly disappointed me. 1. The Physics isn't really that good and that was what I was most excited about, however it is an amazing improvement over ARMA 2. 2. The guns still sound like airsoft rifles and not real weapons, a gun going off is after all just a controlled explosion next to your ear-hole, why doesn't it sound as such (I'm talking Bad Company 2 Submarine hangar, that is how the guns should sound. If you haven't played BC2, just search for the submarine hangar level)? Oh course, there are the brilliant bits. Amazing visuals. I have an ATI radeon 6490m with only 256mb of VRAM, and it runs smoothly (unless I'm in a forest) and still looks gorgeous on low settings. Sooo smoooooooth. Many people have said it's too FPS like, bollocks, in reality I can spin 180 degrees and point at something very quickly (after all, pointing is naturally intuitive for us), this is bringing ARMA closer to reality, and moreover, making it more enjoyable. As underwhelming as it is, the physics does remove almost all the frustration from the game. Modular shiz. I never knew I wanted this until now. I know this isn't very 'Serious mil-simmer' like of me, but I would love to do jumps and fun stuff on the quadbikes, I've tried jumping one over a helicopter and I just couldn't manage it. I think quadbikes to feel a bit lighter, I've driven quadbikes, and they're powerful concidering how light they are, they just don't feel like it in game. I love ARMA 3, It's ARMA 2 (my favourite game of all time), but improved. -
I'm really looking forward to this. Thank you

This reminds me of three kings hotel in Panau (Just Cause 2 island). I really wish all these amazing openworld games made the buildings enter-able. Since it's a warzone I don't think private property really makes much of a difference as to whether soldiers can go inside buildings. Now, I need to work out how to subscribe to threads.

Game is already losing people due to hackers.

I think having mod tools in an alpha is genious, if a modder comes up with a good idea while the game's in alpha, BIS can refine that idea and put it in game if they see fit. This also applies to "unofficial patches".
