  1. I think it would be safe to assume that both Marine and ODST units have Force Recon teams. They both operate for their respected battalions, but unless specified, their intel isn't secret from other UNSC forces operating in the area. "Force Recon functions in a capacity opposite to the ODSTs..." Yeah that is horse shit. Who ever wrote that entry was talking out his ass.
  2. I have to ask that you don't do that as we are all busy with our own work right now. Go lurk around the editing sub-forums for more help. There have to be some tutorials and guides posted there.
  3. I learned C++ in school and Arma configs use C++. SQF? lolidk I don't think it is possible to learn SQF, I think you just gain the knowledge over night in your sleep. /obvious sarcasm There have to be some tutorials to learn SQF around. If anyone knows a good one, let me know lol.
  4. I would be a liar liar pants on fire if I said I didn't have plans for ships (including small transport boats and also the Halo 3 carrier, and a wet frigate). That being said, they probably won't be included any time soon or ever, but hey... I can dream.
  5. Oh god the M319-D6 looks awful... We are definitely sticking with the M73. The design for the M73 came from Halo Reach concept art so I don't know why you are choosing to go with the fanon interpretation of its creation. As for the M247, we are way ahead of you. I'm looking forward to setting up a 247 on a tripod on a nearby hill and covering a town. The M247 will also be a handheld weapon just like the M240 was, so you can shoulder, bipod fire it or set up a tripod position like you showed. Hopefully it will be in the next update, but no promises.
  6. I don't know much about scripting, however if you are asking for the classnames, there is a list that has all the modded items (including the pod parts) located in the .rar file.
  7. The distances this would be useful with the 14.5x114mm would be too far for Arma to render. Not even sure if it would be possible but it does sound interesting. For the next update we will have many bugfixes and at least 2 new weapons: M73 LMG and the SRS99AM sniper rifle. Taro8, I'd also like to talk to you about your Pelican flight model tests, can you add me on Steam?
  8. So in Arma 3 the way you set up HMGs is that you have to have two people carrying two backpacks, one weapon and one tripod. But the weapon backpack is not an actual weapon only an empty backpack. What I am wanting to be able to do, is allow one person to carry the deployable MG in question in their hands as a weapon, and have the tripod backpack equipped. And essentially one person could assemble and disassemble the MG position all by themselves. I did some searches and I couldn't find anything matching to what I am trying to get answered. Is this currently possible in A3? Perhaps with the upcoming Marksman DLC? Thanks in advance!

You think it would be possible to make a script that if you have this weapon selected in your hands and there is a tripod backpack on the ground it gives you the option to set up the tripod and it removes the MG from your hands and the tripod is set up in front of you? And when you disassemble it the MG is returned to you.

  11. Well, to be fair the MG in question isn't an HMG. I was just using it as an example. I wasn't asking about the feasibility of the action, I was only wondering if it was physically possible within the engine to mount a handheld weapon onto an already laid down MG tripod.
  12. We plan on including a wide variety of different buildings. Many military but more focused around civilian and industrial buildings. So yes, something like what you are talking about would work.

  14. No no, in your case it was very helpful. I was talking about the countless amount of people ASKING how to do something that anyone with a few minutes of Arma 3 scripting knowledge could do. What you posted was extremely helpful to everyone, including the team.
  15. I'm sorry but this really isn't a tutorial thread people. There is too much of begging for help with the drop pods going on. This isn't here for us to hold hands people... This thread is for discussion about the future of the mod, major bug reports and requests. There are other places for this kind of scripting and mission making help like the respectively sub-forums on this site or on the subreddit.

  17. Not every aircraft needs to have weapons just look at the UH60 Blackhawk. That is the role the Falcon takes on more than any other aircraft. Falcon = UH60 Pelican = Mi24 Hornet = Little Bird
  18. I'm also interested in why RHS and our mod isn't compatiblite. If someone finds out, please detail it for us. Also, marksman48 if you don't post that video of the Wasteland Pelican chase I'll hunt you down and ban you from the mod.
  19. What mods are you using? If none, delete the mod folder @TEI and re-download and install it. That was a bug we had slightly before release but it was fixed. Seems to be working for everyone else. Edit: This is probably why.
  20. What is in RHS that you want to use so badly? Russians/US forces don't exactly go hand-in-hand with the UNSC.
  21. We'll look into it. I know for a fact it will use the M247 that you posted in the second picture (not the HMG verison in the third. As for the Falcon, it is extremely likely that it will not have a gun on it. It just wont be possible with how Arma works and really shouldn't. The pilot should not be manning the gun and piloting at the same time. We will definitely use that gun for the Pelican though. So the Falcon will probably be transport only with side mounted machine guns. For the Scorpion on the other hand...
  22. I don't know the solution exactly but Scorch, the dev who made the script, says it is possible. There is a separate script to call to make the AI drop in. Scorch if you read this help me out lol As for all this talk for a ground attack aircraft, the Pelican will have a gunship variant with a large nose Cannon and wing mounted rocket/missile pods. The Hornet will fill the same role a little bird would. The pelican is somewhat more of an Mi24 being able to transport a fair number of soldiers while also giving them air support. The Sparrowhawk and Vulture will very likely not make an appearance unfortunately.

  24. That is an idea for another mod, not ours. The ODST visor feature was something only for the enclosed helmets. If you want that type of mod feel free to make it but we have more important things to work on like the Scorpion, Hornet and Falcon right now. Not to mention the countless more assets still on the to-do list.
