  1. One thing I attempted was to create the following situation: A group of soldiers sit around a campfire, one of them being me, the player. An officer arrives, tells the soldiers to join him. They get up, follow him and walk to a truck. They enter the truck, drive for a few minutes, get out and attack an enemy position. So each soldier got a waypoint with 'soldierX action ["sitDown", soldierX]' in the "On Activation" field. The officer (ofcr) got a waypoint "MOVE" near the soldiers; in the "On activation" field I wrote '[soldierX, SoldierY, etc] join ofcr'. I assumed this would make the soldiers (corporals) follow the officer (a lieutenant). The officer then got a waypoint "GET IN" on a truck, "GET OUT" further on with "Aware" and "Wedge", and "SEEK AND DESTROY" near the enemy position. What happened was this: The soldiers sat down nicely, and remained seated. The officer came and ordered the soldiers to follow and to board the truck. The soldiers got up and boarded the truck. When the group got out of the truck, the officer gave command to move to the enemy position. However, the soldiers would form a wedge on ME, not the officer, even though the officer gave the orders. I could run away far from the waypoint with all the soldiers following me, not the officer. Also, the officer would remain in "SAFE" mode and never switch to "AWARE", even though I later added an 'ofcr setBehaviour "aware"' command. Later I removed the entire truck thing and just had the group attack on foot. This worked fine: The soldiers followed the officer, not me. This is very odd indeed. In the original Operation Flashpoint, I did extensive editing and never came across such problems. Any idea what went wrong?

    Doesn't work. The frustration level after endless hours of trying is enormous, arma 2 is no more on my PC. Not your fault, but man am I angry.

While I loved the original OFP - especially the editor - I have just uninstalled Arma 2 CO after spending 19+ hours (not on a single day) on various internet forums trying to find a way to make the multiplayer function and a simple sound mod run - all I wanted was for the AK rifles to sound like AK rifles. Every issue solved created another issue, no end in sight. Multiplayer doesn't work either. I have downloaded a ridiculous amount of stuff and read through countless posts and manuals. The last straw was when I couldn't "preview" a mission i had spent hours on in the editor anymore, I could only "continue" (with changes not being implemented), despite clearly having "aborted" the preview. The concept of this game is absolutely fantastic, but the product I have simply does not work the way it should. A week of life and 40 Eur lost for nothing.

    No, these were the first mods I ever installed. All I really want is for the rifles no more to sound like airsoft weapons!

    Hi, the jsrs sounds are really awesome. However, it took me forever to get the mod running, and it still doesn't work properly. I have the steam version (Combined Ops., Beta not installed) and tried to install the jsrs mod using mod folders. I did exactly what the instructions at armaholic said - including installment of the requirements - but the result was constant crash to desktop when I started CO (even though I could see the jsrs & cba mod folders in the "expansions" section in the menu). I then tried simply copying the files into my "addons" folder in the "Arma 2" directory. I could start the game. The russian AKs sounded amazing. However, neither the m16 nor the fn fal can now fire single shots. I copied and renamed the m4 pbo-files into "m16" files, because I thought then the m16 would simply use the m4 sounds and acquire an m4-sounding single shot. But it didn't. I eliminated every single pbo containing "m16" from my addons folder, but still the m16 could not fire single shots - even though THE M16 SOUND WAS THE ORIGINAL AGAIN. Can you help me play the good AK sounds yet still have a single-fire capable m16 and fn fal? thanks in advance k.
