I have the exact same issue with this game in a Windows 7 environment. I submitted the problem BI and they after many failed attempts pointed me here. All other Steam games work correctly.

I have it up and running all of ArmaII and Arma III beta . Have several questions. When in a Helicopter and told to jump. I eject and hit Enter, but I always seem to hit the ground? When I'm shot and it says respawn, click on Map, that never seems to work, I end up aborting and re-entering? It's a great game, lots of fun. Last question, The text channels, is voice connected to each channel? thanks Traveler

Its this or a nv3dum.dll or hashstack all with Exception Code C0000005. Sometime I can play for 5 minutes or so. Its not a problem with temp and I've reloaded drivers, game and bois until I'm about ready to throw in the towel I've notified their Support, what a joke, any number of time. Sent in about 5 emails with dump reports and files and print outs.
