  1. As Sphinx111 says, Task Force Mohegan is at your disposal. Getting NDAs signed should not be a problem if that is needed. Several of our guys have been developers & QA for video games, or worked with VBS in the military. My Skype contact is accurate and you are welcome to use it or pm me if you would like to utilize us.
  2. Has anyone found a solution to having multiple Headless Clients running on the Dedicated Server Machine without running multiple copies of Steam and owning several copies of the license for ArmA3? @Dwarden: Is it still the plan to not allow multiple clients regardless of being Headless? I remember reading that you said it was pointless to create a Headless .EXE before because the engine only recognizes 2 types, Dedicated and Client. Well now I think you have a good reason. Please create a Headless Client .EXE that is locked to only being a Headless Client, therefore incapable of allowing someone to play as a normal client and is also not bound to Steam so multiple copies can log into a server concurrently. This would not require you to recode the engine to have a new client type, but would greatly improve the lives of us that run servers for large communities. Barring that can you please put out instructions for how to run multiple copies of Steam to validate multiple licenses on a single host? I very much want to run 3 Headless Clients localhost to the Dedicated Server. Not being able to easily do this with Steam makes purchasing multiple copies a rather unsatisfactory solution.
  3. Is it possible to disable the Auto-Master Arm feature for the Weapons Officer? I would quite prefer not pressing the F key several times and re-establishing weapons lock when the pilot drops a countermeasure or uses guns.
  4. I've had a lot of problems with the tail hook not staying down. It likes to retract as soon as we touch wheels on the deck. Would you consider making a mod for the A-143 that enables it to have Afterburner and make use of a similar Service Menu?
  5. It also will not install if you have the Beta patch installed first. It seems the installer doesn't recognize that it is greater than 1.62. If you have it installed before the beta patch and start with the parameter -mod=ACR; it will load.
  6. A very good point! If the ping fails and the ping uses the same communications structure that the game uses, then it will mean the game would fail too. Using an alternative structure that is just for pings and has been broken for a very long time makes absolutely no sense. BIS would be better off embracing some other software for matchmaking if this continues much longer. Hopefully within the next year a paid employee of BIS will see this post and several of the other threads about this topic and actually demand GameSpy does something other than refuse to act stating it isn't their problem (Though it quite obviously is!). My hope has severely plummeted though by the fact your message was posted 6 months ago. It makes me think someone in charge believes this problem is merely unintelligent users that cannot search, read, and manipulate their router/firewall settings. This could not be farther from the truth.
  7. I sure hope not. From a simple internet search it appears this problem has existed for many people for years (I found issues posted as early as 2009) and is quite serious, even though it appears to not be taken seriously by GameSpy. From what I have read they refuse to talk to end-users and are quite obstinate about this "not being their issue". To be quite honest it seems everywhere you look for answers it is someone saying it isn't their issue or suggesting you forward UDP ports or to set ICMP rules in the firewall. Obviously if users are connecting, the UDP ports were forwarded properly. Setting custom ICMP rules in the firewall does not change anything whatsoever. I suppose this is not a problem if sales are still up and this title isn't going to be actively supported for much longer but there are upset customers like us out here that don't have the energy to constantly gripe about an issue like this for years on end. It would be nice to not feel like our issues are "swept under the carpet", as I have noticed other users on various forums basically stating. If third party server browser software can UDP ping properly, then GameSpy can do the same but is unwilling. To be honest I am surprised that Bohemia Interactive still uses their services with the uncooperative attitude that GameSpy displays. To analogize, it feels like the boy at the market bagging your groceries just ripped a bag and dumped your yogurt and eggs on the ground. When you ask him to fix it he says, "I will only talk to food manufacturers. This is not my problem.". It makes you not want to go back, but you will get hungry again and you do really like shopping at the Bohemia grocery store. You will go back and suffer through it for whatever eggs and yogurt you can manage to squeeze passed that clumsy grocery boy named GameSpy. And yes, I did just compare random internet players to picking up eggs and yogurt. Yes, this problem still exists. It persists on to 96015 and 96061 as well. I have contacted Cisco over this issue. Their SOHO networking routers are not the problem according to them. The technicians thought this is likely an issue with GameSpy. I would love for people to be able to find my server without having to resort to using a 3rd party browser or guess which 2500 ping is really a lie. If you would, please contact them and ask them kindly to start working on their issues.
