SOE seems to be doing hardware bans now. That's a smart move, but cheat sites now include HWID spoofers with their cheats It's probably hard to make more things server-side as servers are already stretched to the max. 6000 players per server is a lot :p

GGC-Stream was also hit by a false-positive banwaves last year in BF3. Cheaters can easily use PB exploits to generate tons of false-positives!

It's not unsubstantiated. Custom anti-hacks aren't working client-side, they just use BE logs to kick/ban for known scripts.

No, you don't. You only get VAC banned on games that use the same engine. Example: If you get VAC banned in MW2, you can keep playing all other VAC games (except COD)

Does Arma 2 require any ports or something?

When I play Arma my Internet keeps dropping for 30 seconds and then coming back normally. Sometimes I even lagg on skype before the Internet drops! This only happens while playing Arma! What is wrong with Arma?! Why is it dropping my Internet?

Latest Beta patches hide servers with mods you don't have installed

I'm having a different issue with the browser. Sometimes I'm not able to see full servers, even though I don't have the Hide Full servers filter checked.

Title says it all. The server browser sometimes takes like 5 minutes to show a full server in the list, even though I don't have the Hide Full servers filter checked! It happens to all of my friends too! Sometimes it shows up when I refresh the list, but sometimes I need to restart the game in order to see the server! Btw. This is on the latest Beta patch

Cause it would turn out horribly. Why hire guys that would waste time developing a completely new AC engine and then pay them to search for hacks daily (they would probably suck at it), when you can just license BE? Look at Crysis 2! Instead of using PB (like in Crysis 1), they decided to make their own AC, and the results were horrible.

That's naive and silly to think... You think BI could make an anti-cheat engine and update it daily to counter hacks? No, just no... Your post is full of wild accusations without any facts. 5 of your friends got their keys stolen? Maybe next time they should try not to download "FREE 1337 UNDETECTED HAXX"! Is it BE's fault your friends don't know what they download? The reason for the hacking is the game engine, not BE. If Arma 3 has better engine security, the hacking will be much lower. But still, using any other anti-cheat would be silly.

Right... We should trust him just because he says so? Let's neglect all BI and BE sources and trust your "friend", right? I've had more problems with PB than with BE. Infact, I had no problems with BE at all in Arma 2. I'm not saying it's your fault, as it could be a BE bug that's causing it, I'm just saying it's not common. Rocket probably decided to use VAC, cause it's free when your game is in Steamworks! That's a bad decision, but not as bad, as it would be if Arma 3 used VAC. That would be absolutely horrible. VAC gives admins no special tools, doesn't prevent script attacks and barely detects any hacks.

Amazing game. Great gameplay and graphics, characters, weapons, setting. The cliches in the story were kinda annoying, but the story was overall great.

Why would you remove features just because of a douche? The same guy could also buy a satchel and do the same damage. Removing the time bomb is pointless

Btw. I can't seem to punish players for teamkilling me, but they can punish me if I strike back. WTF?! And how long will I be stuck with being Independent just for killing a douchebag that killed me? He leaves with no punishement, and I'm stuck with Independent?
