    AI Improvement

    That's a big chunk of wishful thinking. I'd be more concerned with AI performance rather than improvements in their behavior. Right now all AI calculations are offloaded to a single core and it puts ridiculous strain on even the most powerful servers. Due to the way the AI has been handled since OFP theres no way it can be upgraded to the extent you're hoping for, though I wish it could.

  4. Can you address this? The page on armaholic says there's an option for no bloom, though I know it's an old version and you might not be in charge of putting it up on armaholic. So what is stopping you from having bloom disabled in the later versions of the mod?

    I hear you, they could probably come up with some pretty cool stuff. You just need to look at current modern concept models of future helicopters and go from there. Personally while I think they could have done more with the technology, I wish that they keep as much current day tech as possible so we don't need modders for everything if we want to make a mission taking place in a current day setting!

    TrackIR Scope

    Cheap and nasty solution indeed. I like the idea but it really doesn't look good to me and breaks immersion more than it adds with its very rough implementation. If there was a black circle layer behind the scope layer that covered the opposite side of the scope it would be pretty realistic, especially if the movement was fluid and not three different positions that the textures switched to. (People who have used a scope with magnification in real life know what I mean, and such an effect is used inside the scope of Red Orchestra 2.)

    I have to mention one flaw with the current JSRS sound mod, which comes into play with many air vehicles and is most prominent with the Osprey or F-35 when turning off the engine. The sound cutoff is very abrupt and does kill immersion. I also came across this osprey video as of late and it could definitely help you improve the ospreys sound, just listen to the distinctive sound it makes when it's approaching with its rotors in helicopter mode. (8 minutes 30 seconds+) Please please please.
  8. Love the mod, I play quite often and we often make up about 30 players when we play which can make for some pretty awesome missions. Though I have a question. I love immersion, and with that I often try and minimize my HUD as much as possible. Would it be possible to have a userconfig file in which you could disable the crosshair and watch clientside?

    WarFX : Blastcore

    I noticed a bug where I fired rockets from a little bird into water and up come HUGE water sprites. Something to look into for the final version. Also you did you change the smoke grenades? I noticed that they don't spread with the wind as much, which is nice. Might just be my imagination though.

    I have a suggestion that I don't think would be so hard to implement. I often play with a setting that degrades medic kits efficiency each time they are used, so we often end up moaning a lot because we can't heal ourselves to full out in the field. Would you be able to include an optional file in 1.5 that disables the soldiers pain noises? We call out if we are hurt anyway and I think it would be helpful for many communities.

    Jarhead, are you making any nice updates to shotguns? I imagine you could probably make a cool cocking sound that is first person only, using your first person script that triggers maybe 0,3 seconds after firing.
  12. Looking forward to the map update! Are there any new settlements and villages in the southern part of the map?
  13. Is there a chance you could remove the bloom also? That is the only post processing effect that bothers me.

I took a look at the SW area and I found some more detail yeah (and also a few telephone poles in the middle of the road. ;) )I was talking about clutter as giving the houses and areas some personality with walls, wells and stuff like that. The houses look a little basic as is and it would make everything a bit nicer from a ground troop point of view, and also from a gameplay aspect. And as for Takistani buildings I don't see why it would make any difference if they are used in other maps. Your map is unique as it is so having default arma buildings would just add to its charm and a believable experience (even if your map is meant to be in California). But I can't really stress it because it would take a lot of time to replace them. I also want to give you props for having so many big bushes that actually are rendered at longer distances, it makes long distance engagements for infantry much better! Also if you want it on six I believe you just have to message sickboy about it.
  15. I have missed a realistic map that actually feels massive, and this one is just vast man. I love it, and I would love to see it added to sixupdater so we can add it to our community's server preset! Also even though you throw beta in the title and I know it's not a finished map, I'd love to see more detail and ambient clutter and stuff surrounding and in the small villages that are found throughout the map. I know it's based upon a location in California but I wouldn't mind more buildings from the Takistani environment you know. Keep up the good work man.

  17. Great mod, and a feature that has been severely lacking from vanilla ACRE. Our server will surely add and use this!
