Multi-Session Operations v4.5 released
HackerSlasher replied to highhead's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Single Player setup - as easy as it gets. I threw it all in a new @MSO/Addons folder and tried the Chernarus mission and so far so good... -

The Road To War - SP Campaign
HackerSlasher replied to tslava's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hi and thanks for the Campaign... I'm enjoying it so far but I've run in to a problem on mission "Step by Step", where one of the tasks is to rescue the villagers in Msta. The trouble is they are killed within a minute of the mission starting every time. They're also over 1k away so there's no chance of getting there in time. Can anyone confirm this problem at all? -
Well that was a refreshing change from the norm. Solid story telling with excellent cinematics and editing. I also enjoyed the pace of it as a whole and the grown up feel to it. A couple of minor downsides - some of the text would disappear a little too quickly I felt and the close ups of the Hind in flight would flicker and jump around for me, but that may be just my set up here. All in all very enjoyable indeed - well done!

[SP Camp] Operation Wayne Grey - Unsung MOD [RWO] version 1.0
HackerSlasher replied to nettrucker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Hi I'm trying to get this to work but without success. I keep getting "error in campaign structure" the moment I try to start the campaign. I'm on the latest A2:OA beta patch and have just installed Unsung 2.5 and the required CBA_OA beta and it all appears to be working. I then extracted the "Operation Wayne grey.rar" into my Campaigns folder like it said in the installation procedure in your Armaholic link. The resulting "Operation Wayne grey" folder contains the files with no extra folders at all. Any help appreciated. -
Turns out that my games drive is shafted - disc check giving constant errors after saying it's cleared them. Hey ho, I knew it wouldn't take much of a reason to grab a 512Gb SSD or two...
-
Yup, just got it with no problems - ty.

I'm not running a development version then and I get the same error on the latest build. Every other mission or mod I've tried works fine, online too for that matter. Would be good if someone else could try this out and report back... Edit : Don't why I didn't try another mission before - seems I've got some corrupt files here.
-
Not sure sorry - it's version 0.5.102571
-
Ok...for those like me that are used to PBOs but not scripts - I downloaded the 1.1 version and I take it that I just put the extracted folder with everything in it into my MPMissions folder? After doing this I could at least see the mission but when I started it, it came straight back with an error...this mission is dependant on -A3_Soft_F_Ifrit which has been deleted.
-
Hi...I can't seem to access either the 1.2 or 1.1 for that matter on speedy.sh. Both time out for me. I grabbed the 1.1 from AH instead.

Why are there no black, women, or transgendered soldiers?
HackerSlasher replied to jacksoldier's topic in ARMA 3 - BETA DISCUSSION
You missed out transsexuals, Eskimos and err goats. You're not very metro are you? -
I agree that it's cheesy but this is listed under the supporter version. There are of course other options. After the server hammering has gone away I'll be getting the digital deluxe for myself and a couple of alphas for my teen nephews - support without the cheese.

Hi, any update regarding this at all?
-
Ah, I presume you're in the US as you said student pilot. Is your long term goal to own and pilot your own plane?
-
Thanks! I take it you're into a flying game or two then. Enjoy and have a good Christmas.

Well, although I got the message at the hangars saying that it wasn't there, nowhere else gave this message, including the place that points you onwards. I started a new game (same addons) and so far it seems ok. Weird, but I've seen weirder. Grrrr, problem at Green Mountain now...
-
I'm trying out the latest release of the SP game and while I'm very much enjoying it, I'm having trouble at the airfield. Edit : I tried a new game and it appears to be letting me continue now.

Me? I've no problem with the mission at all or any of the others in the campaign for that matter. I'm just not a huge fan of of any desert based scenario but as this is set in Afghanistan it's pretty hard to avoid here ;). Island!? I know nothing about the book either, sorry, but thanks for the info regarding some of it. The last thing I read that was even remotely similar, only because there were desert missions in Kuwait, Iraq and Syria, were probably Bravo Two Zero and a couple of Chris Ryan's ones many moons a go. Re the supply drop - as you say, easily spotted from the hill. Again no problems at all there.

As Variable mentions, I too had a dialogue timing issue somewhere, although it was all a bit of blur at the time so can't say where exactly. I'll be frank, I don't like desert missions per se but this is a me thing. Overall the campaign was as professionally made as they come and having a realistic basis for it elevated it above many other well made ones too in my book. There rightly was little in the way of any glorification of the tasks required during it. The timing on the camera work and the cinematics were very good and set many a scene to come I felt overall, as did many of the poignant quotations throughout. The unforgivingly realistic nature of it as a whole cannot be understated, as I found to my detriment many times. As said, I don't like the desert much but then maybe this put me in the right frame of mind from the off, as I don't think anyone is actually meant to 'like' war. This campaign is harsh and feels about as real as they get and for me should be on everyone's "must play" lists. My next attempt will be on veteran and yet again, I fully expect to have my 'ass handed to me'. An outstanding piece of work.

I think went to the tripod with the mortar carried, then looked at the tripod and mouse wheeled to get the deploy or create the mortar option, but I can't remember exactly sorry.
