    Arma2 won't launch - Laptop

At work atm so can't link specs as I don't know them off the top of my head. Iirc it's an Inspiron 1545 which is all I can tell you about it for at least 10hours. The .exe files gives me some DINN8.dll error or something similar and says to install from original or something along those lines but reinstalled too many times, downloaded twice just to try and same error. ---------- Post added at 23:27 ---------- Previous post was at 23:21 ---------- Tbh you're could be right and it's not strong enough but my laptop from 2006(almost positive it was that year) can at least run it when one about 4-5 years older that should(from my understanding) be more powerful can't even launch it. Was hoping for a more in depth answer than it's a laptop etc.. ---------- Post added at 23:29 ---------- Previous post was at 23:27 ---------- By 4-5 years older I mean newer sorry. Posting from phone and tired lol

    Arma2 won't launch - Laptop

Yet a less advanced GPU can run it? I understand laptops aren't built for gaming but it doesn't mean you can't use them for it..
  3. Vcard on laptop: ATI Mobility Radeon 4300 Series I have been trying to install Arma2/OA onto my brothers laptop and have run steam as admin, verified catche(all 100%), redownloaded Dx and Beye, updated all drivers and everything seems normal except when I try and start the game I get the steam message "Preparing to launch" and then nothing happens, no checkboxes etc.. This happens with both Arma2 and OA, if I try run combined ops I get a config screen which fills with text then nothing else happens. My friends list shows me as playing the game for maybe 2seconds but I get no screen as if anything has happened. His laptop can run cod:bo and other more recent games and my old laptop with a NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT which is older can run Arma2 etc except the framerate is very poor even on really low settings. As far as I can tell his laptop should be able to run it at the very least but I can't even get into the game. Any ideas?
