I cannot agree more about releasing the sniper rifles first, we desperately need a good rifle that utilizes both a good night vision optic and a suppressor, I mean, why bring a sniper rifle for a night operation when you cannot be sneaky :) Please take your time, but I am very excited to see what you end up with!

    I am loving your DMR, we really desperately need a decent 7.62 marksman rifle that allows both a night vision optic and a suppressor, the fact that you are making one is giving me hope that I will finally be effective as a marksman in stealthy night operations. Please don't stop now, your work is thus far amazing :)
  4. This is exactly the kind of thing we need, we have too many ACOGS that are about useless because they don't have adequate CQB sights (if any).

    I have checked the ASC pack already, it seems that we simply do not have a current suppressed sniper system that works in night time conditions, that is odd considering the sheer volume of weapons that are already available. I honestly would not even mind a M110 with both the night vision and the suppressor, I don't know why we have a suppressed version and a night time version but not both, that seems silly to me.

    ACE for OA 1.13

    Not sure if this is the right thread (tried the main troubleshooting thread and it got closed with no solution. I am running a fair number of mods (47) and recently, I noticed that my Javelin missile sight was not working correctly, normally when you equip the missile, hit "R" to load the CLU and then look in the sight you will see the WFOV mode where the whole CLU screen is revealed, when you go to the aquire mode, you get a narrow field of view with the grey box around a much smaller image. It seems I am only now getting the small image for both wide and narrow view, this makes finding targets nearly impossible and very frustrating as I can only see a very small portion of the normal CLU picture. I get a error message (that I don't know how to copy down fast enough) that references "missing "sys_missileguidence" and I will go ahead and list my mods so you can see if that is causing a problem. I am not sure how I could take a screenshot of the error message I get as I load the game (before it hits the menu screen) but I did try to hit print screen and it only gave me a image of my desktop. Perhaps this is enough info to get a solution, I hope so :) Thanks in advance.

Recently I started using the Javelin a bit with a group and found that I was getting strange issues with the sight picture, when I just select the CLU unit, the view is perfectly fine but when I select the actual missile and hit "R" to attach the CLU, the sight picture gets very very small (almost half the original size) and it is surrounded by grey (which fills in the rest of the normal sight picture). I have more than a few mods but I did not install anything that I know of that would alter this, very odd and I am hoping someone has a solution. Thanks in advance.

I am really looking forward to your weapon pack, the idea that I will finally have some flexibility in dedicated sniper system selection (NV and suppressors) instead of just toting around the Mk17 with the suppressor and the TWS, I cannot thank you enough for your work so far. I cannot wait, this will fill a gap that should have been filled long ago.

    I thought that might be the case, as I understand it, the actual model of the sight on the weapon mesh does not really matter is it can call on any sight picture anyway. Does anyone know of a project that looks to add a sniper rifle with both a suppressor and a night optic? I mean, this is kind of odd that we have so many fantastic weapon packs but we don't have a dedicated suppressed Night optic sniper rifle. If I had any experience in the slightest (let alone the time) I would try to make one myself, alas that is not a option at this time. Anyway, I hope to at least get some gears moving on the idea for a possible future project from one of our talented modders, I know this stuff does not come overnight but it would be good to know it is on the horizon at least :) Thanks again.

    Arma 2 Addon request thread

    I was just watching some specials on Snipers and doing some research on the modern weapons that they use, I have noticed that our selection of dedicated sniper systems is pretty limited outside of daytime engagements. For example. I want to act as a sniper asset for my team, it is night time and I don't want to alert the enemy to my location easily, my options for rifles in Arma 2 (and ACE/various weapon packs) are mostly going to have one extra piece of equipment at a time so I can pick a NV capable rifle but it won't be suppressed or I can pick a suppressed rifle and not be able to see. I know that there are indeed some rifles that have both, the Mk17 SCAR with the TWS and the suppressor are a good example, but they are not sniper rifles and they offer very little in the line of long range accuracy. So where is my request, if it already exists and I have simply not been able to find it, please let me know. I would like someone to consider making a M40A5 with options for both a suppressor and a NVG (or IR) optic at the same time, this would help fill a sorely needed gap in the sniper rifle list (do we really need anymore anti-materiel rifles?). There are plenty of new weapon systems coming out that could also easily fit the bill, but this seemed like the most effective choice as it would only require a slight remodel of a existing weapon with the addition of a forward rail system (dedicated to additional special optics like NVG's). I hope this is not out of turn, I am pretty desperate for something like this because I can't stand trying to struggle with the M17 on shots any longer than 400yds. Thanks for your time folks, I know I am new, I hope I am not being too forward on this.
