Ive installed this mod on my server but i don't get the menu in when i press esc and neither do any of the players on the server, it was working perfectly and its an awesome mod, i just have no idea why its not working now, keys are in, Ive checked the logs and the server is launching with the mod but no menu, any ideas ? please help :(

     

    This mod works perfect on our pub server, you sure your players have it on?  Also, turn it on server side.  We used steam/arma launcher and automated the whole process so there are no mistakes.


  2. As an admin I dont want line drawing disabled, I just need to know who's making the lines and when. Name and time stamp when I hover mouse over, thats all. This tells who did it and when, allowing me to kick/ban offenders. Could also use this on markers.

    We thank you kindly for the feedback, do you still face stuttering with either OPUS or Speex, and if so, under which conditions?

     

     

    Well that's a shame on changes to VON. To answer your question, yes we occasionally hear stuttering with VON but not as bad as it was. We turned on OPUS the day it came out on vanilla. We host a public server with players who live in Australia to Europe and typically hear the stuttering when players live across the Atlantic/Pacific ponds and have 20+ players on the server. 


  4. Eifehr, thanks for all of your hard work on VON. On our server we switched to OPUS as soon as you released it and we have noticed a dramatic improvement. We hear VON breaking up less than in the past 3 years. It's still not perfect but much improved, kudos for that.

     

    As for the future of VON, besides reducing the stuttering, improving security, and giving server admins more control over what's allowed to be on and off is there any conversation at BIS regarding the creation of an "Advanced VON."

     

    Something like Task Force Radio / ACRE that gives us range based radios, meaning the radio is affected by range, cloud cover, mountains, buildings, forest, etc, and the ability to choose frequencies. It's the next phase of immersion that this game could greatly benefit from, really giving us a sense of scale and forcing players to stick together even more, because if they do, they lose comms.

    in fact Arma 3 has several fixes and changes which A2OA can dream about in case of cleaning variables and scripts off memory for new mission session

    there are simply new bugs / leaks which needs to be fixed ... (or old ones finally propagating enough to be noticeable)

    if people keep reporting the crashes (logs, dumps) and logs and full memory dumps on leaks, it will help us slay it faster

     

    I love that you guys work hard even after the game was released 3 years later, it's really great stuff. The issue we have is that the progress is at a snail's pace...It's all good to ask for mem dump logs and crash reports (and we'll keep sending them) but isn't there anything BIS can do to speed up the progress (put more people on it or hire more knowledgeable folks)? The rate you guys are fixing this issue isn't fast enough; and I don't mean that in a nagging way. By the time you fix the issue Arma 3 could be an obsolete game and much less popular than it is today, so what will the fix accomplish if you have a much lower player base?  Have you guys considered that if a real competitor came out into the scene and offered what ARMA has but with a newer engine (and better PERF) it could snuff you guys out in a heartbeat?  I know you (DWARDEN) are hell bent on fixing this game, but it certainly doesn't feel like your company (BIS) has the same amount of passion as you do and I feel it shows since you're the only one who works with the community at fixing PERF issues.


  6. @omonconsidering we fixed several of issues you reported in pastalso you here long enough to know VBS is made by completely different company than Armathus I find your commentary quite inappropriate@beagleOA MP play-ability improvements had nothing to do with HC (as HC isn't fix to netcode)so less twisting of history ...those of you who may pay attention might be aware of memory leaks being tracked, fixed in thehttps://forums.bistudio.com/topic/160288-arma-3-stable-server-158-performance-binary-feedback/same as crashes and other issues related to MP, servers, clients and such ...

    Dwarden no one doubts theres work being done, the issue is that the game has worsened since 1.54. Better FPS at mission start but they reduce faster in a short period of time, it's quickly becoming unplayable unless a solution is found.

    Frankly I have a hard time assuring our community that BIS is on top of the issue and it should be resolved by Apex.


  7. It's a long story but I'll make it short, ARMA 1.54 was the BEST performance we had on our server since A3's creation. Since then, our server FPS have been dropping faster w/less people. We haven't changed too much of our core mission since 1.54 (other than drop AI numbers, difficulty, reduce vis, etc all to combat bad server FPS) and we know that memory leaks keep getting worse with every update. Clients have to restart their game more often and the A3 server has to do a hard restart every 24hours or the game becomes unplayable.

     

    Is there anything being done to stop the MEMORY leak?  The problem keeps getting worse and we're growing impatient....

  8. Is there a way to get custom difficulty on dedicated servers?  I've read 4 different topics on BIS forums and none of the "solutions" work. BIS WIKI doesn't even work, I read we don't use profiles anymore....then can you please explain how to edit difficulty via "new method"

  9. Hello ryan, great mod!  I'm trying to integrate this mod into our BECTI mission but I'm running into an issue. The zombies function normal (wandering around a town, reacting to enemy etc) however when I get out of a vehicle as infantry on foot, they stop charging me at about 50 paces out and just stand there motionless....Any idea what's going on?

  10. It will be after the holiday break, but we do not have an exact date set at this time. There is a significant amount of functionality that will go in with Joining a Unit as a member.

     

    Could you give us some examples?  I've got 400+ members in my community and I'm finding it very difficult to get them to sign up on Arma's "UNITS" page, they don't get the point and neither do I.

  12. So all my keys are custom, have been since 2001 for OFP/ARMA. For me, B is left strafe and N is right strafe, works fine ingame. However, in the 3D editor it's the default key for "VISION MODE".....I've checked controls in game and gone into my "SpanishSurfer.Arma3Profile" to try and find every instance where "N" is being used, it's not in there....

     

     

    BIS, how do I get my key binding for "N" to act as right strafe in the 3D editor?  It's driving me nuts.
