Arma 3 heavily overpriced in Brazil - discourages new players
swiftn7 replied to wedieyounge's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Mea culpa, Have read the whole thread but some weeks ago. I forgot about that... -
Arma 3 is ONLY available via Steam. There are no hard copies around. However you can buy a steam key in the BIStore (which benefits directly to BI, plus the game is on xmas sale right now, where in steam store you have to pay the full price).

Mmh, in May 2013 there were about 900.000.000 Android devices. Imagine all Android owners would just use Google+ and stab facebooks' back. Zuckerberg would cry in his pillows... The so called social media is the plague of the century. When I look around I see people staring at their phones instead of talking to each other. Even the best friends hanging around together have to check their phones constantly to not miss anyting "important"... It's sad, really really sad.

The distribution is steam-only and BIStore. Out of experience Steam is asking for the same price around the globe. BIStore is sole business of BI (see x-mas sale, which is not applied in steam store). So what's your point? -

What do you Brazilian guys expect actually? Making the price for the game cheaper because the average wage in your country is too low? All the "rich" boys would buy the game in Brazil then and BI would loose a lot of money. What about blockbuster titles like CoD or Battlefield? Are they being sold for less money than in all other countries around the globe? Additionally BI is not asking for 60€ like EA or Activison... -

Mmh, I must confess that I just don't get it. The Steam pricing is odd in general, not only Arma-related. What about buying directly from BIStore? Digital Deluxe Edition on X-Mas sale for 37,49EUR / 119,76BRL / 51,38USD. -
Mmh, what do you mean exactly? The "optimized" settings don't get applied, or "no performance increase to be determined"?
-
Connected to this we would also need some indication for the force we use, because atm it feels like you have no control about how far or near you throw that ugly little thing.
-
No need to use some pseudo-cool internet slang on me! From where could i know that you are experienced in real-life flight topic?! To me it just sounded like you had no clue WHY the helos behave like that... sorry i tried to help...

Normally you can "Open UAV terminal" and right-click on the pop-up map on the drone you want to steer and connect it to your terminal. Afterwards you have to "Take control" (right top corner of the pop-up map, IIRC) and you are good to go.

The tail rotors main funtion is to produce anti-torque to the main rotor to prevent the fuselage from spinning around. It is not supposed to deliver a turn function on speeds above ~50knots, because the flight dynamics are equally to an airplane when exceeding that speed. However you can support the turn flight with the tail rotor on higher speeds, otherwise you would overstress the machine.

Yehaa it's fixed. I just succesfully bought it!

There are two versions available, one for Tegra devices, one for the others. But still no possibility to purchase. It's always saying "payment method not accepted".

1.) I played on servers where my squad.xml was not shown, so there must be a switch for that in the server config, I assume. The squad.xml's of the community members for sure is on the server, but as a guest player, when your own xml is stored somewhere in the www, it will most probably not be loaded. 2.) Yes you need to setup every player individually. There are tools around in the www to make it easier like this: http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=1490

It works like for Arma 1&2, yes. But it may be limited to the community members of the specific server.

Same over here! Cannot purchase via credit card nor provider.

All these new patches and we STILL can't use GPS inside the tank driver seat.
swiftn7 replied to Baleur's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Edit (to prevent misunderstanding and to sum it all up): Just to add some salt to the soup: The tank driver is able to use the GPS as long as he is turned out/hatch open... Makes absolutely no sense to me, because if you are driving the tank with the head outside, you would not be able to read a GPS display fixed on the dashboard easily... This is complete nonsense... - The tank driver has no GPS in 1st person view, which makes no sense, as e.g. in an Ifrit GPS is available in 1st person. - The driver has GPS in all vehicles when using 3rd person - When in a tank GPS becomes available for the driver when he "turns out/opens the hatch" -
2 CAS Aircraft remain unknown. What if?

Ok, got your point, so metaphorically, we need something like Carrier vs. SCUD launchers. I agree with you there. -

I think what BIS means with balancing the gameplay is, that there would be no challenge any more if you put all the supercool overpowered weapon systems like A10, Spectre and whatsoever in the game. You just hop in, kill all the foes in 10 Minutes, mission accomplished...haha very funny. Not to forget that ARMA is focused on infantry, not on tanks, planes or ships Talking from my own experinces, even on MP missions where quite a wide range of the vehicles is available for BLUFOR, the OPFOR is underpowered most times, because the mission desingers tend to give an advantage to the players side. Sure, PvP is totally different, but I think most of the missions played are COOP vs. AI. Ever seen an AI-OPFOR drone throwing some nice fancy missiles or bombs on your beloved tank? Not yet! The other way round it happens every minute. Sure you can demand BIS to throw tons of powerful vehicles on the battlefield, but when the mission designers don't keep the balance between the factions it will get boring very fast. *Submarine with Tomahawk* Yeehaa! Regarding the missing transport plane I totally agree with what has been said already. We should at least be able to do some nice paradrops, Special-Operations-HALO-stuff and to drop a supply box here and there. -

@John_Spartan: Just found a thing that is a little annoying: When you go to the service menu and make a choice like "rearm" you are instantly back in cockpit. I think in most cases you want to repair and rearm, so it would be more comfortable to stay in the menu instead to do all the things you want to do, and then manually go back to cockpit. I love this bird! -
Just found this on Google+

GLT Mod for ArmA 3 - Work in Progress
swiftn7 replied to [GLT] Legislator's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Hey Legislator, I really do not want to be an ass or something, but you might get in trouble by using copyright protected material like the BMW logo and so on... These creepy lawyers giving out adhortatory letters are everywhere... Nice work though!
