    Too much realism would be bad for gameplay imo. It's still a game and not a military training tool so it should be focused on fun, atmosphere and authenticity imo. It would be interesting if there was a "super realism" mode included though. One that would simulate real-life combat without any HUD and other aids, deadly wounds, crushing difficulty, voice commands, complex vehicle control and such.

    improving DXDDL

    I tried ENB but I think it doesn't look terribly good (too bright). Maybe if someone tweaked ENB and enabled some effects in OFP would be cool but I wouldn't know how to do that personally. There was also a "DX10" addon for OFP but I didn't try it (looked like a scam to be honest).
  12. Anyone thought yet about hacking Kegetys DXDLL and adding some new effects? The original author seemingly won't make any new versions so I thought I'd ask if anyone came up with the idea of adding some newer effects (like motion-blur, HDR, crapuscalar rays, SSAO, ect.) to it. It could make OFP feel much newer imo.

    xbox controller support?

    Arma is better suited for a gamepad than a mouse and keyboard imo. It's a fps + tank sim + flight sim in one and controlling vehicles is better with a gamepad. They would only need to implement voice control for commands.

  15. FFUR for sure. ECP Redux looks nice too. I use GRAA personally since it's less demanding on the hardware and works online (you need to use MP config).

    This UWAR grass is very complicated to use. I wish someone made a easy to use mod or island replacement out of it.

    Will Arma 3 be better optimized

    I think they are downgrading the graphics for better performance. The game also looks more streamlined, almost like a more realistic CoD or BF taking place in a open world. The Real Virtuality engine is shit though. It ran like crap even in OFP despite OFP having shite graphics. No amount of added features will change the fact that it's a poorly optimized and outdated engine.

  24. hi all, I would like to get some grass on the main OFP islands and I'm wondering how to do so. There exist many addons like BattleTech, i44 and UWAR but it seems performance drops severely if I place lots of grass in the editor. Also, I can't place the grass exactly where I would like (I usually multiply squares and then copy/paste them) and can only use it for own missions. I've seen various scripts that don't place grass on road (included in i44 grass pack demo and also UWAR) but I don't know how to use that. Basically I would like to see the UWAR-like grass effects (small grass that pops up infront of you as you move) and have that all the time if possible. Should I give up hope on that or is there a way to make this? Thanks in advance.
