I've had a problem with ARMA 2 & OA for a long time.
So basically, when I'm playing multiplayer, after a small period of smoothness, my game starts freezing up a lot. Basically every 10 seconds or so, it freezes for 5 seconds, sometimes longer. It is extremely frustrating while doing anything in ARMA. It doesn't matter how much fps i've got, still freezes up.
When I used to get this problem, my specs were:
AMD PhII 940 quad core @3.0ghz.
ATI HD 5850 w/ 1GB vram
4GB DDR2 RAM.
500GB hDD
Reinstalled ARMA 2 by itself recently, to play with some friends, and hoped the problem would be gone because I now have:
Intel i5 2500k, 8GB of DDR3 RAM and a faster terabyte HDD, though I still have the 5850. Unfortunately, still the same problem. I've researched into this, and all of the threads I've found haven't had a solution, except for a few with solutions that didn't work like using "-exThreads=1" in my launcher.
Really makes ARMA unplayable and frustrating. It's why I stopped playing awhile ago. I thought this was common, but friends with computers half as good as mine can run it with no freezing.
I'm using retail, no mods. And any mods I had from the last time are gone, fresh install.
