  1. Long as we're talking about audio issues, I'd love to be able to adjust the volume of the voice overs independently of the rest of the sound effects. It's sometimes difficult to hear!
  2. I do have to admit that, while I do like this game, I did have to get up and walk away for a while because Larry, Moe, and Curly drove in three different directions to try and follow me. One got stuck in an alley between a building and a wall, the other got stuck on the wall like a monorail (not even sure exactly how) and the other trundled out the other exit to the area and took a scenic route. Meanwhile the poor Walrus I was controlling got turned into swiss cheese by the enemy mantas. I very calmly quit the game and walked into the other room and watched TV for a while to let my incredulous rage simmer down. My only consolation was that the enemy walruses didn't really fare much better. I had really hoped this would be improved after the lengthy discussion (okay, complaining) about it in the beta, but it doesn't seem to have made the cut. I think it is telling that the only issue that any of the the original reviewers mentioned was walrus pathfinding.

    A port too far.

I agree that the UI is pretty clunky for a PC game. There's no reason we can't have, for example, all the carrier production functions on the screen at the same time as any of the other controls. Having to click the carrier piloting controls to bring up the production screens is weird. We're using PC's here! We should be able to pin the production or map window to a corner of the screen and keep it there! Or we could really go nuts and have some multi-monitor joy, with the map on another screen entirely! But I do have to say: What? :p
  4. So I was in the middle of liberating one island when I started getting messages about one of my resource islands being attacked. When I finally finished up at the first island I dashed across the map to the island under attack only to find no trace of the enemy. All the buildings looked intact and I didn't see any enemy units at all, but it was still flashing red on the map. Any idea what that's about? Edit: So I sailed away from the island "under attack" and went to the next enemy island, and lo and behold the enemy carrier was there! Yet the island I left still said it was under attack!
  5. I like Lazyman's idea. It's simple and straightforward. Maybe give the Walrus/Manta players the ability to equip their units, but that's it.

    Dilemma

Just to expand on your second issue, the beta is the strategic game only. A game mode that you'd be playing over and over anyway. The single-player campaign is not part of the beta, so you'll still have that!
  7. Okay, yes I finally found it thank you! I had indeed missed a small part of the island where it happened to be. It was simply a matter of not knowing what I was looking for! I assume this will info be in the tutorial and final manual of course.
  8. I actually did do that first, but all I see are a bunch of destroyed buildings, some of which have icons on them on the map. I did find an intact satellite dish and I blew it up just out of spite.
  9. Is the triangle the command center symbol? I've tried rolling up to it with a production building module but no luck. I'm rolling around to all the ruined buildings on the island I can find...
