  1. I finally got the physics demo footage, goes for about 11 minutes so it might take some time to upload but I'll post a link here soon as it's done. If they have the same physics effects in Arma 3 my brain is going to melt, so awesome I still can't beleive it.

    Is Arma 3 authentic?

If you were bleeding to death your last concern would be comfortable first class seating. EXPLICIT CONTENT REMOVED
  3. I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean, but the author of the article commended the realism, performance, and depth of the physics. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. As Max said this is a 'confirmed' features thread so I will leave it at that for now until we get some solid confirmation on this.
  4. I thought it was against forum rules to discuss certain 'other' Bohemia titles in this forum. The author of the article did say that he contacted Bohemia to find out more about the physics engine, but I don't know if they got in contact with him or not. Anyway I guess we will just have to wait for more new info to find out for sure.
  5. To cut a long story short the article was about a different Bohemia title, they are testing it and said the physics effects are great and well optimized but when they checked the Nvidia control panel there was no indication of PhysX is being used.
  6. I read an article just now that leads me to believe they abandoned PhysX and have been using a different physics engine. I can't post link here because it is against forum rules.

    PhysX

I don't know for certain, but I'm betting there will be PhysX collision detection between vehicles and humans. There was a Arma3 PhysX demonstration at E3 showing a grenade explosion ragdolling some troops, I don't see any reason why vehicle collisions wouldn't have the same effect, but I'm no authority on the matter, maybe I'm wrong. There was a Arma3 PhysX demonstration at E3 showing a vehicle pushing objects around so I think the answer to your question is yes, but I don't expect vehicles will have any effect on vegetation and trees.

    Is Arma 3 authentic?

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles continue as the most dynamic growth sector of the world aerospace industry this decade, according to Teal Group, an aerospace and defense market analysis firm based in Fairfax, Va. Teal Group's 2012 market study estimates that UAV spending will almost double over the next decade from current worldwide UAV expenditures of $6.6 billion annually to $11.4 billion, totaling just over $89 billion in the next ten years. "The UAV market will continue to be strong despite cuts in defense spending," said Philip Finnegan, Teal Group's director of corporate analysis and an author of the study. "UAVs have proved their value in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan and will continue to be a high priority for militaries in the United States and worldwide." http://www.examiner.com/aviation-news-in-washington-dc/unmanned-aircraft-market-worth-89-billion-ten-years

    Aiming Accuracy in Arma 3

For long range shooting simulation I think ACE 2 mod is going to be hard to beat, even with range finder and wind metre it's not easy to hit a moving target. hopefully it won't take too long before the ACE team create a similar mod for Arma 3. When I want a real hardcore shooting challenge in Arma I try to hit moving targets without determining the range, wind direction, wind speed etc. bQiRyomT_F0&context=C406b3c5ADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g=

  11. In Arma when I'm standing close to a wall in a unconfined area I can step out from behind cover and raise my rifle all in one fluid motion. In my opinion it feels very realistic, actually I think it feels perfect - CqvjaOUa7Xs&context=C451384cADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g= If we could just replicate this same fluid motion (consistantly) when firing around doorways without getting stuck I think it would really make a big difference to Arma's gameplay.
  12. I wanted to gently lean out the doorway, but kept getting 'stuck', so I stepped out. The problem is the movements are too clunky and too slow, far too slow.
  13. That's how it works in SWAT 4, if you attempt to move into a position where your weapon would hit the wall the game automatically 'pushes' you away from the wall. I hope that makes sense. I'm tired of this happening - SLDntN2t-aQ&context=C4c9a210ADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g= I would have dropped that sucker in the real world! lol
  14. Can you reproduce these rapid, realistic movements in Arma... acCvP9q9qlU&feature=fvst In the real world troops don't fart around clicking buttons, movements are performed without conscious effort, it's called muscle memory. It would feel natural and realistic, currently it feels robotic and unrealistic.
  15. In Arma I often get stuck in doorways and it really ruins the realism/simulation aspect for me. I tried this today with my .243 in my living room doorway and it was very easy to do, I certainly didn't get stuck like I do in Arma. w961bpMc1bY&context=C493eadfADvjVQa1PpcFODIfYh5xtQeNWMxX7Jna6wRmFovYP-R3g=
