  1. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Took me allot of work to get the savegames running again. First I reinstalled the game. Then I did a system recovery, as that has been known to solve such problems in the past Then I downloaded the game again and reinstalled to see if that would fix it. When I did that I got version 1.2, and it dont seem to be compatible with my savegames. I got an ingame error saying the savegame was invalid. I eventually uninstalled it and then reinstalled 1.2, then copied the profile subfolder with the savegames to the Carrier Command in "My Documents". Once I did that the game would start and accept my savegame files, and I could continue to play. Are the savegames incompatible with the newer version of the game?

    Feature and fix request

    I dont know how it happened, but I had the enemy carrier try to take one of my islands. I dont remember the name right now, but what happened was that the island was flashing and kept flashing. It was as if the carrier was fighting a never ending stalemate battle at that island, so I could just take all the enemy islands at my own leisure. If I approached said Island however, the enemy carrier would start attacking another Island. In the end I found the torpedo and finished the campaign
  3. I have the same problem. I'm in strategy mode and the Launch Hammerhead button are grayed out. I tried launching the scout drone to the Enemy command center, but it did nothing. I also tried saving, exiting and reloading and still nothing.

    Yes, and I found it truly enjoyable. Just started strategy mode, interested in seeing how that will be. I was a bit puzzled though, when I started the strategy mode. It told me I had not completed the campaign tutorial yet, even though I completed the whole campaign. I just wish I could replay the campaign again, as if it was the first time I played it.

    For me it was campaign, and how do I know if I have everything? How can I tell if I am missing something when I dont know what I should have when I have everything?

    Multiple Endings?

    You are pretty much describing exactly what I already did. I was in position as you say, and I did use autoaim. I also noticed the regeneration, which I found very nice. I also did manage to shoot him down just around that high bridge he flies under, and still I got the bad ending. So what did I do wrong here?

    Reviewing time!

    Having played the entire campaign to the end I can sum up that part of the game with one word. Impressive. Its been years since I could enjoy a game to this extend and want to replay it again right away. If there was some way for me to replay the game again as if it was the first time I played it, I would do so. Once they fix the walrus path finding and get the modding going with the game, I expect this game to have nearly infinite replayability. That a developer can take a good old classic, remake it and make it this good is just amazing. I cant think of any other game that have been made this good, be it a remake or a sequel.

  10. How are your Islands set up? If you are low on resources, maybe you should convert a couple of your islands to resource and get some more resources. Its not easy, but I have managed to find just the right balance and have managed to produce at least 1 of every weapon and equipment, for mantas and walruses.
  11. After deleting the Carrier Command folder in the "My Documents folder I was able to start the game again. And after a hell of a lot of back and forth I was finally able to get my old savegames working. I wish I knew what happened to cause all this crap.

    After countless hours play.

    I have truly enjoyed playing this game over the last few days, and just cant put it down. This is so much with keeping with the spirit of the original, and its pretty much how I would have expected the game to be had the original been created today. Yes there are bugs, but we cant expect them to have found all of them. Still what bugs I have found are few and far between and nothing gamebreaking, only minor ones. And I'm sure BI will have them sorted soon. Too many games today are unfortunately short, boring and for the most part copies of each other with a few changes. I honestly miss the games of the 80' and 90', and I truly and sincerely wish that more developers/publishers would create games the way BI has done here. Not just remakes of old classics, but new games as well.
  13. I use Mk II armor on all unites except the walrus that carries the hacking module. Since I cant use modules with M KII armor I use MK I armor on that. I always interact with the research centers, to get new blueprints. I may have forgotten some headquarters and factories/refineries though, but research center I always visit. Now that I have the Marshes upgrade though I hope I can reduce the Deadly defense to very strong or strong by taking out islands around them first. Should make it a little easier to take them out.

  15. I have a problem I'm not sure how to deal with, hoping someone has a solution. The enemy carrier took the island Arachnid from me, and made it their stockpile island. I decided to attack that island to take out their stockpile for a while, hoping it would slow them down for a bit. Now for my problem: When I arrive at the island it has scramblers, so I cant move my units very far. Normally I would be told where they were and attack them. But in this case the game seems to jump back to the tutorial. After I am told about the scramblers, I am told to capture the command center with a hacking capsule, and the command center are marked as my objective. It giving me the tutorial objectives instead of the objectives I'm supposed to have Problem is I cant reach the command center because its outside my telemetry range due to the scramblers, and I have no idea where the scramblers are and as such cant take them out. Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this problem? I also have 2 additional questions I hope someone can answer. 1. The Hook How does this thing work? From what I understand I am supposed to be able to lift a walrus with it. I can hook up the walrus no problem, but when I try to fly with it, I just crash into the ground. I cannot move it anywhere, so how is this thing supposed to work? 2. Bombs. Mantas can equip bombs, but how the hell do I fire them? I have yet to figure out how to use the damn things, and as far as I know there are no firing mechanism for them. Anyone know how to fire them?
  16. I have an update on this problem here. I managed to retake Arachnid as suggested by Dram, but I now encountered a new problem. It seems the game thinks that you are still doing the tutorial when you try to retake Arachnid. After Taking the Island, my carrier will no longer repair, rearm or refuel my Mantas and Walruses. Its as if the game is suddenly stuck in tutorial mode. I hope you guys at BI can take a look at this and fix it soon. Until there is a fix for this problem, my recommendation is to avoid taking the island at all. Let the AI have it and go for other islands.
  17. I keep getting crashes at Granite island when trying to retake it from the enemy. Every single time I try to retake it, the game crashes. No matter what I do the game just crashes at this island after some time. I can attack the island for a while, and then it just crashes. This is the second Island I am unable to retake, and its getting very frustrating. If this keeps up I will be unable to complete the campaign because I am unable to retake islands due to these crashes. Error Message: Program: ...ctive\Carrier Command Gaea Mission\Carrier.exe Reason: Access violation. Illegal read by 606d9a at154 [NCC::barqueBasic::OnStockpileSet]: ??? addr: 0x00606d9a [NCC::barqueBasic::OnStockpileSet]: ??? addr: 0x00606d9a I love the game, but these crashes have become rather frequent, and dont only happen at islands. I have had similar crashes at random points in the game, but have previously been able to just start the game again and continue from last save. This does not seem to work here however, I keep getting this damn crash every time I get on the Island with a walrus.

    Crashes at Granite Island

    I managed to find a workaround for my crash issues at Granite. I decided to take Bacchus instead, and then went for granite afterwards at which point I could take the island
  19. OK I finally got the marshlands upgrade. I got a video sequence showing that I needed to rescue another person. This happened while I was trying to retake the original 4 islands (Vulcan, Arachnid, Treasure and Frontier) After retaking them, I decided to go back to sanctuary, which was already under my control and try to look for the upgrade again. I was the put in FPS mode and had to infiltrate an enemy base to rescue this person, after which I got the marshland upgrade. As for my problem with deadly islands. I If I as much as try to approach the island with a manta or walrus, I get shot to pieces in a matter of seconds by the island defenses. I'm talking any defenses, turrets, mantas or walruses, I can barely get close enough to shoot back before I'm dead. But now that I got marshland upgrades I should be able to take some of the other islands and reduce the defense value of those deadly islands
  20. How do you get the walruses set up to follow each other the way you describe? I tried setting it up that way, but when I use assist its either all or none. And as the OP said, where the hell do I find the equipment for my units to handle marshes type islands? There are only 2 Islands that are not marshes that I have not been to, they are the same as the OP speak of with deadly defenses, and I tried everything I can think of to take them out. My units gets shot down long before they can even get close to any form of firing range.
  21. I only played the campaign mode so far, so cannot speak for the Hammerhead. As for the Tomahawk I have to agree. When I first saw it I thought the Tomahawk was a Cruise missile for use with the carrier, and not a missile for use on the Manta. I used it once and found it weak in firepower considering its size and that you can only carry one. Personally I would have liked to see it as a counterpart to the Hammerhead, for use with the carrier, only with a conventional warhead instead of a nuke.
  22. The defense, resource and Factory capsules will build a command center of its type, and can only be activated on islands where the command center has been destroyed. Since every Island already has a command center, you have to destroy the command center to build a new one They have to be used where the command center used to be and will build a new command center of its type. Defense, Builds a defense Command Center (Defense Island) Factory, Builds Factory Command Center (Factory Island) Resource, Builds Resource Command Center (Resource Island) You should see a crossed tools icon on your screen when you can use it, all you have to do is approach the location where the command center used to be.
  23. Yes this is during the campaign, after I captured fulcrum of course since the enemy carrier is now on the move. I dont have the scout drone yet, I did not get it after my assault on fulcrum so I assume I get it later. I wonder if this issue is simply a bug, that causes the game to think its still in the tutorial I'll try with the hook again, see if I can get it working. I'll look into the bomb as well, last I tried I used the Semicolon button and that only changed between my equipped lasers and missiles, but not the bomb. Update: I have tested the hook and the bomb, and can now operate them as I had expected. Thanks for the help.

    !!! Ideas for improvement !!!

    One thing I would like to see is a cruise missile of some sort that can be launched from the carrier. Something similar to the hammerhead you use on Fulcrum, only with a conventional warhead and not a nuke. Hammerhead nuke be a one time use for the storyline, but have conventional cruise missiles that can be launched from the carrier after you used the hammerhead..

    hack-capsule and other capsules

    I never had to replace capsules on my units when I return to the carrier. Only the capsule I used on an island has to be replaced, the others remain in the walrus until I use them. If I use a hack capsule I have to replace it, but any capsules I have in my other units remain there until I manually remove them
