  1. I'm (very) late to the OFP party, and I'm trying out the FDF mod on CWA. Somewhere (I forgot where - the FDF site?) said that the Smith And Wesson Revolver mod is needed for some FDF missions. I have installed all of the FDF recommended addons, including the revolver addon. I start the first mission in the FDF campaign and I get a message saying "cannot load mission - missing required addon KEGsw66". I click to dismiss that message, and then get another message saying the same thing about KEGsw44m. I googled this problem and and it appears that the addon is known to be broken, but for a supposedly required component for a popular mod, I'm surprised that I can't find any patches or instructions for fixing it. I found one guy who posted a fix for it a long time ago, but the link is dead. I have tried using the addon in both the root AddOns directory and also the Addons subdirectory of the finmod folder, but I have the same problem either way. Can anybody help?
  2. The ECP + GRAA combo sounds appealing to me (I just got into OFP so I can't claim to be a die-hard fan yet, even if I do become one). I have read GRAA's instructions for using it with ECP and have successfully merged the two for single-player. However, I want to setup a dedicated server shortly and I have my doubts that this combo will work on a dedicated server. Besides instructions for using GRAA with ECP, GRAA also came with clear instructions for using it in multiplayer, which appearantly it won't do with the default install. The instructions are clear enough, but the differences between the steps for an ECP merge and multiplayer setup have me thinking that I can't have both - multiplayer with GRAA and ECP at the same time. Mixing GRAA with ECP was a matter of replacing config.cpp in the ECP directory with a special GRAA + ECP config file, and then copying GRAA pbo files to ECP. The GRAA mulitplayer steps include deleting two cpp files (including config.cpp) and using special bin files which are named the same as the two deleted cpp files (except for the extension). Am I right in deducing that in OFP, cpp files and bin files server the same purpose or hold the same type of information, it's just that the bin files are compiled versions of cpp files, and the content of a cpp file will take precedence over the content of its corresponding bin file? If that is correct, then since the multiplayer setup for GRAA has you delete the cpp files and only use the multiplayer-specific bin files, then there would very likely be a conflict in design between the GRAA's ECP config.cpp and its multiplayer config.bin? In other words, the GRAA author doesn't want a config.cpp anywhere in your multiplayer GRAA setup (for a good reason I'm sure - probably to force you to use only the MP-compatible features), but the only way to use ECP with GRAA is to use the special config.cpp GRAA provides for use with ECP. Doing both (using the ECP config.cpp and MP config.bin) would probably not work, right? I know I could just try it for myself, but I don't have a server setup yet, and even if it did run and was not obviously broken, I want to make sure I wouldn't be setting myself up for something unforeseen later on.

    I figured this out, although I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature. As admin, enter "#mission x" in the chat, where x is any string other than a valid mission name.

    I'm playing LAN multi-player and I want to know if there's a way to skip a mission once it's started and go to the next mission in the server's config file. I know you can use "#vote missions" and then choose a mission, but that is really messy because the MP missions are not filtered by what mods they are compatible with, whereas my server config files do contain mod-specific mission lists, so I would much rather just move on to the next mission in the list. Is it possible?

  8. In some multiplayer missions I've downloaded, the Role Selection screen sometimes fills all the roles with "nobody" instead of the more common "AI" when I start the mission. Does this mean that the mission author did not code any AI for your team-mates and there is no way to get bots on your team?

    Downloaded and it worked for me. Thanks again. Now that the revolvers are fixed, I get message about not being able to load a mission because fdf_worlds is missing when I start the FDF campaign, but the first mission starts anyway. I then loaded each individual mission in FDF and played them for a minute to test them out, and they did all start and play, even though a few of them gave the message "cannot load mission, missing something-or-other,-depends-on-the-mission" at the beginning (but oddly enough, none of the messages from the individual missions said they were missing fdf_worlds). Should I be concerned about these "cannot load mission" messages? The missions do load and play (at the least for the minute or two I tried them for). Is it possible that whetever these messages are complaining about will be a problem later on in the mission?

    I thought I was clear that I already had the add-on, and in fact I had tried different installation directories for it. What I am asking for is a patch/fix instructions, or a workaround to avoid these errors which the author himself has acknowledged are an issue with the add-on. On the off chance your link was a fixed version, I DL'ed it, and it has the exact same files (I ran a diff on them) which are known to be broken.
