    I managed to get it to work on my first try. Using PBOmanager from armaholic, and then extracting and editing the cpp file, I added ammunition from Niarms fal pack. It would not have been possible if I had not spent about 30minutes reading through all the comments in this thread, cause at first I thought you were just supposed to edit the pbo file in notepad. I want to thank Redfield for answering all the people asking for help in this thread, because without all that input I would not have been able to do it (I have never done anything that looks like scripting before). Arma 3 is a totally different experience for me now, with the improved damage values, so much more fun! Thanks for many the hours of fun in my single player missions!
  2. I have noticed the exact same thing, i have manually tried to lower all the stats in the asr userconfig but to no avail. The AI is too accurate now leading to too short firefights.
  3. I just stumbled upon a project called takedown. They are aiming for something similar to the old swat and rainbow six games but on a modern engine. The developers consist of people from old studios such as red storm entertainment and monolith but also retired military personnel including a retired ranger.     Avoid Commanding in Arma 2

    The reason the AI leader sits like a "moron" is because he does not have any "waypoints". If you go into the editor, create a squad and give the ai leader a waypoint like "Move" or "search and destroy" he will start acting real and give the squad mates commands, including you if you have spawned as a squadmate. I think you will find some good "non"-commander missions in the single player scenarios, also, commanding is pretty much non-existant in the public MP coop, so you might want to play that. Another thing could be custom user missions and campaigns, but you will have to download them individually and see for yourself if your are being put into command or not. I think the learning curve with all this is moderate but if you get the hang of this stuff, especially the editor you have entertainment that can last pretty much forever, only limited by your creativity.

  7. Yeah hes calling targets for individual soldiers, but only giving out engagement orders to the whole group, i guess it works then. Thanks for the reply.

I would have bought this had i known about it a few months ago where i was happy with ati cards in arma 2, but recently they seem to have started a trend with not supporting vista 64 when releasing new drivers, despite complaints made to the driver developers twitter they havent started supporting it yet. Being a driver freak i either had to install a new OS or start buying Nvidia cards from now on, i chose the latter and boy am i satisfied with the new performance i am getting.
  9. This is probably a stupid question, sorry, but i cant seem to find the answer from google or the bis wiki. In the editor, i have written the following in the group leaders init "(group this) enableAttack false" But when i spawn as a squadmember he still gives attack orders to the different members of the group, can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong?

Greetings community, ive been playing the great chesty puller campaign for some time but i can never get past mission 02 force recon without sustaining heavy losses when assaulting the village, this is my fifth retry now. The main issue seems to be the mg positions, but getting caught in a cross fire also seems to be causing alot of casualties on my squad. I have since stopped taking the direct approach, but i still run into trouble whenever i try to assault the village, even when i am flanking. With that said, does anyone know how to deal with fixed emplacements when commanding a squad of ai soldiers? Have anyone done this mission without taking more than a few casualties, if yes, how?
