  1. It happened the same thing with ArmA2. Users with i5 2500K were getting only a marginal advantage over i3 and even Celeron G860 due to the engine not using hyper threading properly. In that case what really matters is clock speed per core and getting a dual or a quad-core with same speed they would be almost identical.

    ARMA3 on Mac?

I am currently playing ArmA3 in bootcamp in my mac. It has a i5 2500, 8GB ram and a ATI 6770 1GB. Plays well enough. Using windows 7 64bits though.
  3. Try to disable vsync in your graphics card driver suite and set a maximum of 3 pre-rendered frames. It helped me in that situation.
  4. The only thing I would change is the PSU. For a Corsair TX-650, OCZ or Antec. All around the 500-650W.

    They better have female soldiers...

I don't think the combat women are so important in a game that already gives us so much in terms of possibilities. However, complete animations for female civvies would be nice, so they can drive and perform all actions possible to other civvies.
  6. There was some years ago a port to MP of the BIS campaign, however, I can't seem to find it either.
  7. In your OFP (ARMA:CWA) folder you must have a users folder, another folder with your profile name in it, and inside that should appear one called missions (if not, create it). You only need then to un-pbo the missions there and ingame, inside the mission editor just load the one you want. No need to fiddle with AppData stuff.

    Mission requests and ideas

    Thanks a ton bro ;)
  9. Dunno how are the prices in UK, but an Intel Core i3 2120 is almost the same price as a Phenom II X4 and in most reviews they are head-to-head. BUT, in the Core i3 path you can later (when you have more money) upgrade to an i5 or even i7. That would be my bet.
  10. Being a poorer company can't excuse them from giving us a good gaming experience without relying on US to improve their game. I am one of the disappointed people with sounds earlier, and if Chammy and others gave us acceptable sounds for free, there is no reason in A3 we don't get improved sounds. I too believe in focusing on the core content, and BIS is wonderful in that, and that's why their games are the only ones I play and pay for (DLC). But we can't forget the new players, the ex-COD/BF players looking for something different that never heard of a mod, or even the magazines reviewing games, and it's in mostly in them that BIS must focus now (we are already converted hehe) and they can loose a big market if they skip the little details and deliver an half-assed game.

    Mission requests and ideas

Does anyone have WarriorX's mission: co@ 05 Delta Spooks.haw_delta? Also, long time ago I played a mission where you had to destroy an electricity powerplant before you attacked a base. I believe it was based in Kolgujev and was vanilla OFP. It was SP. Thanks in advance :)

What languages do you know or want to know.

I know Portuguese (native), English, Castellano (Spanish) and a bit of French. Already had classes in Modern Arabic and German, but can't remember a thing. I am in the process of learning Suomi, thanks to years of playing FDF and probably most of my e-friends being Finnish. Also, it is quite a challenge as there are very few languages alike.
  13. Even if we get tablets with multi-core processing and improved graphics and the technical mumbojumbo that can hurt the PC business in what concerns gaming, who will want to code/play a game like Skyrim or BF3 or even ArmA3 in a 10.1" screen? Even if you get to plug it to a bigger screen, unless ARM processors get godlike efficiency we will have lithium batteries with autonomy of what? 10 minutes? What I think is already happening is that consoles and tablets are concentrating the less mature and more arcade gamers/games, while PC remains king amongst the simulation, strategy, FPS and RPG games. And I don't think Nvidia, AMD and Intel can profit that much from tablets, that they can stop improving and launching new PC hardware. Because, let's be honest, beside games and a few other applications, there is no need for a new CPU or GPU for simple PC work like Office and Facebook. Also, what would be of the modding communities like this one?
  14. The Core i3 is way better than the AMD part. And for 399 I don't think you can find much better than that.
  15. Not to mention that the first or second driver from both Nvidia/Ati, after ArmAIII is out, can bring improvements and determine which flavour of graphics to buy. Happened before with ArmaII.

ArmA: Cold War Assault on Android / iOS

My thoughts exactly. Also, from all the games I tried on cellphones, besides those which controls solely rely on the direction arrows + an action key, feel too complex for such a tiny display. One good example of that is Dead Space, which had to be remastered to function in iOs without crippling gameplay.

    Handwriting in briefing

That is easily done with for instance Chris OFP Script Editor, just need to change a bracket in the plans section. Example: <!-- Plans --> <!----------------------------------------------------> <p><h6><a name="plan"></a> <!-- [PLAN] --> Destroy t55 in Kolgujev. Kill Guba in the dentist. <!-- [END] --> </p></h6><hr> Just add the bold bracket in there, and it should appear ingame as handwriting.
  18. That is what happens to me since 2002 and learning about the editor. I see the news and read other forums just to get ideas for missions. On-Topic: ...when you installed the game so many times, the serial number is now you password in every site you register.

    Getting Into OFP

I can totally relate to your memory. Even in the present, after months without playing I hooked up a modest laptop and crancked OFP with FDF up, and my god, it still is the best game ever.
  21. What I seriously recommend (which I will also do) is to buy an used ATI 4890 1GB. It can run ArmA2 pretty well and beats GTX260 core216 when using filters and higher resolutions. I was able to find 4890 for roughly 70€.

ArmA Editing Guide - English Version

Indeed it is well written and the translation is also good. I read it all last night, truly a masterpiece. Great work  Thanks for your feedback. At least a feedback which is dedicated to me and my Team only . I am very proud and happy to read your lines and what you are about to call our work. So you said you read all last night? So you had squared eyes at the end, haven´t you? If any troubles or other issues ocures so feel free to ask me or even Mr-Murray either over that threat or by pm as well. regards MemphisBelle Hehe, no problem I don't know german enough to say it was a perfect translation, but from what I read, I would say it was an original english text. My "literature translation" teacher considers that it is one of the requirements for a good translation, so, you're on the right track

Ah, ok! Well you can try and contact the guys over the israeli mod, I believe they have some arab speakers.

    Safwan

I can help you in that. Even though my arabic knowledge is still in "rookie stage" I can still translate some stuff. The arab words are just the translation of the english. (well, it's english the translation of the arab, you got the point )
