Performance is still terrible even after todays patch....
ratszo replied to P0ci's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
View Distance, Object Distance --the only two setting that will cripple your frames if set too high. Screen rez will crush frames if your gfx card can't handle the resolution. Read my sig: -
Will we ever see a stable multiplayer running at 50-60 fps?
ratszo replied to Holden93's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Arma 2 didn't have playable MP til v.1.62 --nearly 3 years into the title-- did you forget? I'm lovin' MP koth right now, playing smooth up to 58 slots. The 100+ slot server ain't here yet..., as Bis wants it, just like we do. -
Arma 3 Performance Issues Longtime BIS player
ratszo replied to Ben00's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Don't be lead astry by trolls --deceived by deceivers. They WANT you unable to play the game. Post your problem; post your specs. Troubleshooting will help. ---------- Post added at 05:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:04 PM ---------- BS..., we both know. -
MP has got'in alot better lately, The missions that lagged me last year play fine now. I've upped my vd, od, object detail, and fxaa since alpha. Not taking survey --too many non-playing haters on this board. I'd also like to give credit to the hardworking Modders whom've done so much making their mods playable.

Squad logo works in Arma 2 but not Arma 3

I do this: .PNG to .TGA (uncompressed) to .PAA (dx5) image. -
Boo-hoo. learn to drive. I rechecked suv just to make sure --normal speeds give normal results.

OP is a whiner. get tough, and report griefers to the server host, not here. Public servers work..., just not all the time. Report, mute and play the game.

Neighbours? [spits] Just another name for collateral damage in Arma.

Why no aiming down sights in urban prone?
ratszo replied to Frankdatank1218's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Yeah, an early alpha build had sights up. Unless crosshairs are enabled, there's little point to the stance. As it is, i don't use it. -
Yep. The OP could drive slower and avoid obstacles for better results.

Wife is gone for the week..., gonna shake the house down! Also got a 60w. bass amp..., too much?

I use 128x128. Have used 64x64 --point is, it must be square. Also, set texview output to dx5, no problems. ---------- Post added at 02:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:38 PM ---------- Take a look at this run-down: http://arma2squad.webs.com/apps/forums/topics/show/1878403-how-to-create-squad-xml -
Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
ratszo replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Go with, Processor: I5 4670k 3.4 Ghz RAM: 8Gb 2133 ram Zalman cooler Save cash by reusing the old case, psw, optic drive, even hard-drive as you can. Get the "K" burnt-in @4ghz. --find a shop that knows what it's doing, and leave the techy stuff to them. -

ratszo replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Ah, good point, I5 4670 "K" --is a must for the unlocked mulipliers. Didn't know they sold a locked version. -

ArmA 3 Performance Tweaks and Settings Guide
ratszo replied to incontrovertible's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
Been playing 'King of the Hill' lately, and had problems IDenting blue/red/green factions --the uniforms were smuggy at range, hard to make out --bluefor & greenfor very hard to ID. Found cranking FXAA sharpens uniforms at range..., making friend/foe IDents much better. Also, Nvidia users can crank 'Color Saturation' up thru the CP --i find default color very washed-out. -
Arma 3 Performance Issues Longtime BIS player

Before replacing..., could try an overclock just to see. -
Not a standard english keyboard? If so, can try english setting for a workaround.

I'm an old flight-simmer, so i fly my infantry using Js + pedals + mouse. The software allows for some handy macros: --Firing, squeeze trigger holds breath; on release trigger fires. Fire time is set for 2 bullet bursts on full-auto. --Shift stance right/left + lean; on release resets stance back. --Got a sprint macro where on release lowers to the next stance --so low crouch sprint goes to high prone seamlessly fast. The hold breath/fire macro is sweet. The "autohotkey" software can do macros for keyboard, but not user-friendly. There must be some easy to use macro software for keyboards. I know Saitek/madcatz sells gaming KBs.

Steam workshop problem? Read this thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?170690-A3-Freeze-menu-logo-Steam-Workshop-problem

I understand the problem in terms of 'fillrate': http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fillrate Where saturation occurs when the memory speed can not clear the scene. I've found lowering 'object detail' helps alot in Arma.

Small Stutter/Lag Spike At Random Times.
ratszo replied to BeadyRoller's topic in ARMA 3 - TROUBLESHOOTING
You can try the "Microsoft. NET Framework 4 Client Profile" repair tweak. Flight-Simmers playing 'Cliff of Dover' swear by this for micro-studders. Read this thread: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1806 GL, let us know if it works. -
Problems With Mil-Sim Groups Taking Realism Too Far
ratszo replied to Phoenix1.0's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
Finally we see the butthurt..., starting with, " I have been part of these groups and they treat their members like dog crap." Ending with, "..., before you falsely accuse..." Axe..., meet grinding_wheel. R. Lee Ermey said it best, "There's a lot of whiners in every crowd." http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/r/r_lee_ermey.html -
Problems With Mil-Sim Groups Taking Realism Too Far
ratszo replied to Phoenix1.0's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
Oh, i see, you're worried 'bout "new players" falling in with the wrong crowd. The wrong crowd being any mil-sim group you don't approve of. That's the gist of it, right? On the subject of role-playing --it is interesting Life servers are so popular in both a2 & a3. Seems there is a significant fan-base for the roleplay gendre. We're just a mod away from Furries clogging the server lists..., or God knows what's next? I'd be worried for new players being scarred for life..., oh, the Humanity! -
Problems With Mil-Sim Groups Taking Realism Too Far
ratszo replied to Phoenix1.0's topic in ARMA 3 - MULTIPLAYER
Oy! Complaining 'bout mil-sim groups playing a mil-sim game. A poll no less! Long diatribes even..., bitter vitrol. Did someone mention 'Drama'? Me? I think it's great like-minded people can come together in Arma to enjoy their hobby together. Better here than formations of jack-booted Grognards marching thru 'Second Life' or the 'My little pony' game. --the horror..., the horror....
