Next DLC poll what would you want it to be??

We already know that the next dlc will take the form a fully fledged expansion, based upon a new terrain. BIS do a fantastic job of communicating their plans, although I wish they'd hurry up and announce the type of terrain they're currently building.

    Beyond Recognition

Finished this mission last night after way too many reverts. I just wasn't prepared for the increased quality of the OPFOR, they're masters of the one-shot kill. I misunderstood the objective at the HQ so I was desperately trying to interact with the laptop and the folder, not realising that it was a hidden Specop trooper that was required to trigger the next phase. I loved the mission but the lack of ammo -- I wasted a lot of time trying to get my machine gunner a reload. There should be a reasonable amount of ammo to be found amongst the fallen.

Crash in phase 2 beyond recognition help

You need to start "Win" manually from the menu. Each chapter is a self-contained element that doesn't know about other chapters. Maybe in a future build there could be a link at the end of chapters 1 and 2 that invite you to start the next chapter -- that will save on confusion. Just started Win last night -- loving in the shift from guerrilla warfare to once more being under the thumb of grumpy brass.

    Bingo Fuel

Not too hard at all. Why it only took me.....49 attempts. (I'm rubbish - plus I just spent 6 months playing nothing but Battlefield 4 (so I'm stupid, too). :D That was over about 3 sessions. Great mission if you don't mind pulling your own hair out - the hardest too, least until the last one in chapter 2. I used the same approach as you. I took out the guards in the storage depot immediately bellow the factory, rearmed RPGs at the parked Ifrit - which I needed to take out the Ifrit which comes to investigate. THe Ifrik always managed to find my team. I ended up sneaking to the fuel truck alone, sending the rest of the team towards the tank on the hill. I was mostly down to me being very determined not to lose any men. And it didn't help that I had to restart twice. One time, I managed to walk into a locked cargo container and couldn't get out. Still, for all the cussing and hair pulling, this game can be amazing.

    Altis - Info & Discussion

Altis is fantastic. Great work BI. I have suffered FPS problems here and there -- especially flying with TrackIR enabled. Lots of stutters during rapid head movement. However, I've been playing with almost everything set to max, I'm going to need to do some tweaking with settings. With the render distances dropped down to 6km (scenery)/3km (objects) I'm getting 30+fps. Pretty damn good for such a detailed place. Performance improvements will always be welcome, but what I'm seeing is looking great right now. Mk Quad Core i7-3770 16GB Ram GTX690 Win8 Pro

sproyd's Simple Arma 3 Editor Guide

Outstanding work, sproyd. Very readable, and very relevant stuff. Thanks for your efforts. Mk
  7. I think we've all suffered episodes of game rage. I'm loving TOH, but there's no way I'd have got through the training landings/takeoff without the auto-hover, it really is tough to stop a slight pitch from getting out of control. That said, I put 400 hours into Modern Warfare 2, if I put a 10th of that time into this, how better will I fly? I guess a big part of my pleasure from flight sims is the satisfaction I get from clambering up the learning curve. Someone who already has the muscle memory of real helicopter flying is going to have a hard time with any sim. I've flown with numerous fast-jet pilots, who've all said that, while they love sims too, it's simply impossible to accurately replicate the experience on a home PC.

Can I bind keys to my x-box controller

Right on the money, sir. Thanks so much for the help. I know game controllers lack for immersion factor but my Thrustmaster set just doesn't fit on my desk.

Can I bind keys to my x-box controller

Thanks for the response, Mr. Charles. I'm using the default xbox controller scheme, it integrates very nicely, offering a lot of sensible interface touches through the controller. However, the scheme doesn't appear to be editable - the Customize link is greyed out. :-(
  10. Hi there. Got the pre order Beta today, very impressed. However, I'm currently limited to using an x-box controller - something that works suprisingly well on Flight Sim X. I'd be flying happy except that I don't seem to be able to bind the collective to the x-box controllers buttons, so I'm struggling with the controls. Going into the Controls editor, remapping from "Q" / "A" to the buttons doesn't seem to work, it doesn't pick up the button presses. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mk
