I think the x1 and x2 etc are where group 1 and group 2 are being sent (destination of that group).
The diff symbols such as squares etc would be different group classes....vehicle, air or infantry.
This is just my educated guess...lol
Bang on Reaper. Also note you do not see the destination x when the group is spawned in the map - only when it's virtualized.

^ yup used to use it with DAC as the AI tended to hunt you down far too efficiently lol... curious to see what you come up with

Sorry for the delay guys... you are good to go. Hazey messaged me a while back when Maquez was looking to edit his mission:
Anyone that wants to edit My Insurgency are welcome to but must give credit to the Alive Dev Team and they must never ask for support haha.- 1

Basically don't use space bar or ESC key when indexing.. for some reason it can mess things up. Wiki info has been updated.

Canadians also have boilers on their vehicles, like on the LAV-III.
Except ours are filled with maple syrup ;)

So yeah, -filePatching sorted it out, thanks :)
It's a little strange though how mission folder sub-folders don't work without it, but the mission root folder does :\
Because Arma ;)

No, looking at it it seems it's recently added, so that may be it. It seems unlikely to affect simple script calls though right?
If memory serves (it often doesn't) you need -filePatching to access any "unpacked" data (ie: non-pbo files)... give it a shot it's an easy test ;)

What do you mean exactly? With ALiVE the developers include a \scripts folder for running their map indexing process.. do you have -filePatching enabled? Pretty sure that is required.
-
Still working... the ALiVE mod uses it for indexing maps. Can get you some more info if needed.

thanks for the reply, sadly every 24 hours so its no real solution wish the old mso system with local database back...
Your IP changes every 24 hours??? Ouch... that sucks :( Check with your ISP they may have an option to pay for a static IP.. usually it's just a few bucks.
The old MSO - SQL setup was a nightmare to support and maintain hence the move to a cloud DB.
-
one question left, if hosting alive local (@home) with a dynamic ip, supports warroom dyndns (asdf.ddns.net etc..), instead of static ip input?
Negative it must be an IP address. It's easy to update this on your War Room account when it changes - the down side is you'll have to keep an eye on when it changes.

How difficult was it to index the map? I've been wanting to do some myself but I have no terrain experience whatsoever and don't know if that's a factor.
I wouldn't say it's easy... but it's doable. No terrain experience required. See here for more info:

Sorry was away over the weekend. Can you try again and post the entire RPT file? Or is that as far as it gets?
You could have a corrupt mod that is causing it (especially if vanilla works just fine) - if that is the case you'll need to delete and re-upload the mods.
-
Thanks Heroes added to ALiVE wiki:

Sorry it looks like the file is cut off... there should be more info at the start of the RPT file. See the link below - notice the part at the top that shows your server params - this is what I'm looking for.
-
Looks OK from what I can tell.... try unchecking the -noLogs parameter and restart your server. This will generate an .RPT file in the server's root directory. Post that RPT file to pastebin and link back here.

Sounds like the mods are not loading on the server.
So you've uploaded the required mods to the root directory of your server (same place arma3server.exe is located)? Each has it's own @folder? ie: @cba_a3 @alive etc?
Double check and make sure the @addon folders are in this format: @alive\Addons\**all .pbo and .bisign files go in here**
Most providers use a control panel where you can change settings - there will be a mods section and you need to enter them like this:
-mod=@cba_a3;@alive;@other;@mods
Don't test using the server browser as it can take a while before your server appears. Try to direct connect via IP address instead.
Failing that there are two excellent tutorials by Terox:

Hey Auss,
I went ahead and indexed Australia 4.04 for ALiVE but because of the issue that causes module problems, it may not quite be usable. The solution was a tiny change I mentioned here on your tracker.
I know you've been working on 4.05 but in the meantime, would it be alright if I posted an edited PBO of e76_buildings.pbo to get around this problem? The actual buildings sources were all released awhile ago but to make sure everything is the exact same otherwise, it would be an edited version of the PBO included with your island.
Yeah congrats to Fadi - the first ALiVE indexing submitted by a user!! Can't wait to try it out on this excellent island!

V0.3 is available.
Changes :
-Reset all objects's position relative to the ground.
-Redone the ground textures.
-Signed the addon
-Added a couple of trees and bushes in the built-up areas.
-Minor corrections of the terrain itself

Thanks for the update!! One of the more under-rated A3 maps out there.
edit: I'm assuming map IDs changed with this version? If so we'll need to re-index it before it will work with @ALiVE
-
Yes they are the same... the readme wasn't updated on the Steam version... already fixed apparently :)
-
Its still down.
Oh wow.. I just assumed it would be back up by now. They really need to get that sorted.
-
Check the feedback tracker too - I can't imaging someone else hasn't run into this if there is an issue with 2012. We use 2008 R2 and have never had this problem.
Where is server.cfg located?
in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Posted
It can be anywhere in your A3 folder as you can set it's location using a server startup param (ie: config=\path\to\file.cfg). If you don't set that param it defaults to A3 root directory.
Start with the example one here and adjust to taste. If you don't have a .cfg file already just create one in Notepad.
