Well yeah more like Cold War II, youre right.

Are we at the brink of World War III?

I also think that those "bear" flights are to check if NATO planes have got some new radar signatures (new radars or new planes) which would help to identify friend foe in a worst case scenario. Sort of reconnaisance flights. As for the WW3, we already have one on economical and informational level, and for now it seems there are three blocks fighting against each other: USA, EU, Russia. With China watching it and making profits. Yes EU fights with USA because all those sanctions that USA wants against Russia would ruin not only Russian, but also european economics. US dont have that much trade agreements with Russia like european countries do. And as it seems USA would like to ruin that agreements and conquer european market (for example by selling shale gas) meanwhile making europe dependant from US. On informational level, well we have that whole espionage thing and US, european and russian propaganda pouring out tons of waste on our heads. As for going all out war, that wont happen as it most likely will end like Albert Einstein predicted. Or some aliens that we will make sure are hostile (like telling them what we think about their mothers) so that we might unite ourselves against a common foe. If we win this one we will start however a war about who has the right to inspect the alien craft and dissect all the aliens :)

I see there is no point in arguing as both of us only see their points of view. Its quite convenient though for the rebels to leave some documents proving their guilt.

Thats why I asked if ALL of them were killed by separatists. I dont deny that separatists were killing civilians just as you should not deny that UA forces were doing the same. I mean not collateral damage but for example what happened in Odessa, and please dont tell me they put themselves on fire, how can it explain that people were beaten or stangled to death inside and outside of that building. Besides most of the corpses were in body bags already, how can you see what happened to them.

Sure that they all were murdered by the separatists? What do you think were the separatists doing to all those civilians who were killed by ukrainian bombardements and air strikes. They put them all into separate graves and mass graves were only for those they killed themselves?

This guy is basically talking how the Donezk region is simply a resource for Ukraine and how it should be used. He means that 1 - 1.5 mio people living there are redundant and should be killed. For such kind of freedom of speech he would be sentenced to prison where I live.

Oh yeah I see how killing civilians (e.g. hitting a wedding) with a drone strike helps fighting terrorism and is not a war crime. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/01/23/obama-drone-program-anniversary_n_4654825.html Those children would definately grow up into terrorists.

The status of the occupation zone was officially suspended with the foundation of FRG. All reparations were paid by the end of 1953. However there is still no peace treaties between Germany and the former Allies. And yeah there is no more Cold War now and some bases are reduced, still USA are using for example Ramstein Air Base for its drone operations. Therefore Germany is closely involved in that war crime not only by hosting the base of operations but also by funding it, thats what I dont like.

No he was right to post it here. Its pretty interesting how the US and EU are sanctioning Russia for their help to the rebels while Israel is bombing the hell out of civilians and UN buildings where more people have died in a couple of days than in the months of the Ukrainian conflict. When will someone sanction Israel, when will someone sanction the USA for all what theyve done. In the mean time Russia has threatened to increase the gas prices for the EU, thanks USA and their loyal Merkel, in the end it is the taxpayer who has to pay for all the bs our politicians do right now. http://www.n24.de/n24/Nachrichten/Politik/d/5158696/eu-verabschiedet-sanktionen-gegen-russland.html Speaking of taxpayers, why do we (i.e. german taxpayers) have to pay for the american bases in Germany? http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ausl%C3%A4ndische_Milit%C3%A4rbasen_in_Deutschland#Kosten_der_Stationierung

http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/07/28/osce-observers-work-border-within-days-russia-says If the last quote is true, and I guess at such level he wouldnt publicly lie about other diplomats, than it rather implies that there never were any tanks, apcs and russian soldiers marching by the thousands across the ukrainian border (and now apparenty hiding under a bush somewhere).

It seems people here do love to pick at every effing single word indeed. OK I rephrase myself: the MAJORITY of ukrainian refugees flee to Russia. Happy now?
  14. negah

    Ukraine General

So if Russia is so evil and Ukrainian govt is so good and democratic, why are the refugees fleeing to Russia and not western Ukraine, there is no war there. Is it because Putin told them to do it by threatening to shoot them and eat their children? Or is it because they are afraid theyll be massacred like the people in Odessa? http://edition.cnn.com/2014/07/26/world/europe/ukraine-crisis/ http://fox2now.com/2014/07/26/donetsk-residents-flee-fighting-russians-report-spike-in-ukrainian-refugees/ About Georgia 2008 yeah you're right, same situation but worse this time. Back then Georgian army has also shelled civilian areas. However Russian army has intervened back then and the killings were a put to an end after a couple of days. This time its different and I see no ending of the killings of the civilians. I'm not supporting the actions of the separatists just to clarify, Russia is also playing dark here and has its own interests. But the actions of the Ukrainian government are just as disgusting.

Because its not about truth or people or democracy or even Ukraine. The NATO is not interested in a real investigation of the plane tragedy, just as they never were interested in the investigation of maidan snipers or what happened in Odessa. Its better to accuse Russia of all evils and sanction them, and some investigations could actually prove that Russia has nothing to do with it. I think someone (guess who) tries to ruin russian economy and therefore stop their rise to power again. No one wants to share the rule over the world I guess.

Ive also been already thinking about that, with all that fuss about israeli illegal settlements on palestinian territory it might as well be that they want to terrorize palestinians so that they just flee somewhere and never return. According to wikipedia the current losses look like that (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Israel-Gaza_conflict): Palestina (different sources): Gaza Health Ministry: 1,062 killed and 6,037 wounded PCHR: 928 killed (764 civilians) UN OCHA: 924 killed (676 civilians, 129 militants, 119 unknown) ITIC: 674 killed (241 civilians, 204 militants, 229 unknown) IDF: 330 militants killed and 108 suspected militant arrested Israel (different sources): 43 soldiers, 2 civilians and 1 Thai worker killed; 185 soldiers and 32 civilians wounded Hamas: 80 soldiers killed and 1 captured
  17. Whoops sorry for starting another topic about this game, didnt see this one. About the game, Im thrilled to see how it turns out. Since the first Ghost Recon and Rainbow 6 - Raven Shield the only game which came close was SWAT4, but it was more about screaming "Police, put youre hands in the air" and lees about shooting (which is not bad, its simply different). I hope youll be able to switch between teams and team members like in the old GR and R6 games. And the terrorists wont be that quick to kill the hostages unlike in the R6 games. About team AI, I also hope it will be at least like in SWAT 4, where it was more fun to play with AI (who obeyed orders and did their job well) than with friends (who did exactly the contrary and sometimes shot not only suspects, but also the hostages and other team members :D). While Raven Shield bots where usually pretty stupid, best example is if you order them to storm a room using flashbang. Most of the time the guy, who opens the door, will stand directly in fron of that door, holding a flashbang while being shot at from the guys inside the room.

    Combat Mission: Shock Force

Yeah, love the vehicles with grenade launchers, they are especially great for "clearing" buildings :D And nothing as fun as calling for a massive artillery barrage and air support when time is about to run out forcing the enemy to surrender and win in the last minute. Also tactics are eveything. In one mission I had an AT team with javelins on the roof of a big building and an Abrams hidden in some trees overlooking a street. So when the enemy send something like 10-15 tanks over that street (t-55 if I remember correctly) threatening to flank my advancing infantry, all of the tank were annihilated without knowing what hit them. If you like that game, I advice you try out the Wargame series (if you havent already :)) http://wargame-series.wikia.com/wiki/Wargame_(series) Its less realistic than Combat Mission (still much more realistic than any other common strategy game), has however a much bigger scale (Red Dragon includes aerial and naval combat), and feels like ArmA High Command Capture the Island mix. Yet again tactics, reconnaisance and logistics are imerative. For example the M1 series of tanks are good for attacking from the move, but tend to run out of fuel pretty fast, while the soviet top tier tanks are great at sniping the enemy with ATGMs from afar. Good froce composition is also very important, if you forget AA, enemy air assets will tear your army apart. Place all AA in one place and it gets killed in one bombing run. Radar AA is very powerful (especially the soviet), is however very vulnerable to SEAD planes. Artillery is good not only at destroying stuff, but also at lowering enemy morale.
  19. http://www.groundbranch.com/ So Ive been digging in the depths of the internet and stumped on this project. For now there is not much to see, but it seems to be a mix af the old Ghost Recon (the first one) and the old Rainbow 6 (1, 2, 3) games, which is like awesome mixed with more awesome. For instance it seems most of the levels will be in the open like GR, but we will also see some CQB action including hostage rescue scenarios. The level of detail they put into gear is also terrific: http://www.groundbranch.com/wp-content/gallery/characters/charactercustomization.jpg http://www.groundbranch.com/wp-content/gallery/characters/weaponcustomization.jpg I hope though it wont be like in R6 games where the terrorists would execute the hostages as soon as they hear a mouse squeak. For example in R6 - Raven Shield you couldnt use flashbangs or CS gas, because the terrorists sometimes shot the hostages before the grenade expoded and the only option was to storm the room without using the fancy stuff. EDIT: might I ask why has someone reported me? Did I break any rules? Just to clarify, this post wasnt meant as advertisement, I stumbled about a promising game and wanted to share this info. Oh im blind, and aparrently didnt search well enough, there already is a topic about it. I apoligize.

The video of the missile launch might have been filmed on the other day as the actual shooting of the plane. I cant say if there is an actual filming date and time visible in the video itself (not in the caption) as the video is not playing back for me (its all black). How do we know it was the missile that shot down that plane and not one of the other military planes that were shot down over the time. Without the proof of the exact time and data that video means nothing. Otherwise its too convenient that someone was exactly knowing when and where to film the missile launch. It would rather implicate that the ukrainians knew that the rebels would shoot down a civilian plane on that day. Thats why I want to know where are tha flight recorder data and the conversation of the flight controller with the plane. (Or was someone filming every missile launch just in case a civilian plane would go down some day?) And about the "satellite" photos. I can as well take a screenshot from for example google maps and prove (with photoshop of course) it was Poroshenko who shot that plane down throwing a beer bottle at it. Besides that blog is telling only about how russian troops are crossing the ukrainian border and shelling ukrainian troops. No one has posted there anything about ukraine shelling russian territory: http://news.yahoo.com/one-man-killed-shell-ukraine-hits-russian-border-083948620.html http://en.itar-tass.com/russia/742070 http://www.aljazeera.com/news/europe/2014/07/ukraine-says-soldiers-under-fire-from-russia-201472592936697212.html Oh wait what russians claim is all lies and cannot be believed, we must only blindly believe what Ukraine and its allies say. Seems some ukrainian army servicemen are not that happy about shooting at their own people: http://cyber-berkut.net/traitors/0019.php

Telling the truth? What truth, the one western media is telling us? The one that started the Iraq war? And theyre saing it like it was proven that it were russians or separatists who shot down that plane. Where is the conversation of the ukrainian flight control with the pilots. Where is the data from the cockpit voice recorder, they should have it deciphered by now. Where are the damn proofs of anything. But yeah we like to jump to conclusions, it must have been russians, who else. That Ukraine is the one who clearly profits now from that crash, everyone seems to oversee it.

Do you believe they gave that money out of good will. Do you believe any of that money went to the pro russian govt? I guess all of it went to the "anti-russian" movements. You know the good guys in your book. EDIT: Does anyone know what kind of armored vehicle that is and which side it belongs?

Well and since US has invested 5 billions US Dollar into the current UA government and basically own them now, I'd say they are as corrupt as the former goverment that was owned by Russia. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article37599.htm

The most logical conclusion would be, dont drink wodka if youre a CIA paid rabbit, you might end up shooting down a civilian plane which will lead to everyone blaming Russia, without any investigations. About french weapons deal with Russia. France is a huge weapons seller, it would damage their trustworthyness on the market if they wont finish their deals because of political reasons. Many of their customers are from NATO point of view propable candidates for the axis of evil membership and good friends with Russia. And you dont want to lose customers because of some stupid ideals everyone will forget about in 10 years.

Well as long as there is nothing to gain form that conflict, why should someone care. Its not like wars were ever fought for sake of common people. And since USA are not that fond of Assad, ISIS might even help them if they succeed in defeating Assad and destabilizing yet another region in the Middle East even more that it is now.
