Weird features in British Armored vehicles

Fun aside I find it really good for the british command to order boiling vessels in their vehicles. You start to appreciate very much such little things as a hot drink or warm food after a couple of days in the forest during the winter. And its good to see that the Bundeswehr is getting such things too, however the "Field toilet" written on makes me wonder what that really is :D (the arrow showing somewhere below, but still).

USA Politics Thread - *No gun debate*

Id just like to know why speaking against the USA is repeated trolling? He posted pics which show that USA are not what they claim to be, is that trolling? The green pic is stupid, but the other two (which are just linked) are just stating facts (you cant deny all those wars). I agree the rules are rules and have to be followed (e.g. explicit videos) but since when is there a rule that everyone has to post things that conform to the mainstream point of view.

Still Great Britain is used as a political representation (not only geographical) of England, Wales and Scotland very often, mostly due to its historical meaning. Or simply as a synonym for UK. But yeah feel free to pick at my every single word. Change you place of living to Republic of Finland in you profile first.

Ok ok Kingdom of Great Britain, you dont call it Federative Republic of Germany in everyday speech too although that the right name for it.

Well I just pointed out that it lacked additional info which made that article unclear. Yeah an itinerary might describe their intentions much better. Because that article implies that innocent western reporters trying to uncover the turth were beaten up by evil russian KGB agents while Putin himself was erasing their hard disks. Thats what I hate about our journalism, while it is not outright ridiculous like its russian counterparts, it acts more subtle missleading people by telling half truths and small bits of information making readers imagination work out the rest. With the whole "evil russians everywhere" news coverage its is clear what people will think reading such articles. Those journalists might have been as well beaten by some pimps while filming in a red lights district or have angered some mafia people by asking too much questions.

Still youd want a first hand impression of the place where it happened, perhaps ask people around who might have seen what happened at the villages near the border.

Its kind of strange though since Astrakhan is nowhere near the border with Ukraine according to their own map. The article lacks some important information. Why were they so far from the border if they were investigating what happened at that border. Were they just on the way there? Perhaps they got somehow involved in other buiseness not knowing it.

So today Scottland decides if it is to remain part of UK or get some independence. Anyway the Queen will remain its Head of State, however should Scottland become independent it would have some economical consequences for UK. Still I doubt it will happen, as most of the surveys results have shown that the majority (by a small margin) wishes Scottland to remain as a part of UK. But we will see.

http://www.t-online.de/nachrichten/specials/id_71054394/mh17-absturz-30-millionen-dollar-kopfgeld-auf-hintermaenner-ausgesetzt.html Private Detective offers 30 Millions Dollar (according to the official homepage, see below) and new identity for infromations of shot down plane. He was contacted several times by middlemen, one of whom had swiss accent, so he doesnt know who the real client is. He was already paid 40000 € and will recieve half a million in case he is successful. On their homepage are the questions the informant has to answer: Who has shot down the plane? Who has ordered it? Who is covering it? (Even if it was mistakenly shot down) Who can tell additional Details about the shooting down? Who else was involved? What happened to those people? Who can tell which persons have given the Order? The money will be handed over in Zürich or other neutral place.

With that logic every USA government since 1959 are also thiefs, because they dont want to give back the territory of Guantanamo Bay back to Cuba.

  15. Hmm, depends on how Spains law handles such referendums. In Germany people of the whole federation have to vote if one federative unit wants to get independance, so I dont think we will ever see independant Bavaria :D Does anyone know how Spains law are defined on that topic?

In fact Merkel has a "stay friends with all sides"-politik, i.e. be freinds with both Russia and USA all the while trying to keep as many countries in the EU as possible (Great Britain in this case). I dont see why such policy should be stopped as we are clearly profiting from it. Of course other EU countries may see it differently.

There are indeed differences between german and for example french or italian mentality. For example we cannot understand how Italy may work as a state where the government is one of the less trusted institutions of this state. Where rules and laws are constantly broken and mafia takes over many responsibilities of the government to "protect" people from it. When the recent economical crisis has broken out, Germany has somewhat taken over the leadership in Europe. For it we were and still are compared with Nazi Germany all over again. Best example would be Greece, which was helped by our government (as well as some other european governments) so that it wont get bankrupt, in return they should tighten their laws and improve its utterly corrupt system. Now we are the most hated nation in Greece and many people are afraid to travel there for vacation. As one british journalist put it, we germans do not understand that our principles of life cannot be applied to Italy or Greece.

So that they will be shot down by separatists or russians? How many ukrainian aircrafts were downed in that conflict? I guess bombing lybian or iraqi forces, and bombing russian troops is quite different in terms of opposing forces and its equipment. And from the recent US wars it seems USA are only eager to fight those who cannot fight back. Basically just like Russia, I mean who wants to lose a war anyway. In fact Russia is not really that much in debt, russian debt is only 10.84% of Russia's GDP http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/debtclock/russia Compare it to US debt, which is 102.24% of US GDP http://www.nationaldebtclocks.org/debtclock/unitedstates Besides national debt not only mean debt to foreign investors or banks, but also pensions and the like. After a bit of converting (note that I did a lot of rounding, therefore only approximated results): Russian debt: approx. 170,858,200,000 € US debt: approx. 13,419,132,990,448 € That means you have to multiply the russian debt by a factor of 78.5 to get US debt.
  19. Seems like an interesting project, although the real use for it is kinda questionable. More facts are needed like how autonomous it is or what kind of weaponry it uses. Also how really stealthy it is, you wont need stealth against taliban, and russian radar technology might be too advanced for it to be effective. Is the stealth technology really necessary? I mean the thing is meant to act like escort to fleets, so if the enemy sees a fleet on the radar and knows your doctrine of using such boats he would know there will be stealth boat escorts. Using (existing) corvettes would be more effective I guess. If they are meant to screen fleets in coastal regions only, why not use cheap patrol boats, in order to protect the fleet from small fast boats. The only use for stealth would be to deliver SF groups, but yet again there seem to be stealthy Black Hawks (like the ones used in Bin Laden kill mission), submarines and simple boats so investing in another super duper expensive project seems like a good way to waste money to me.

Oops I havent seen all the new posts and updated my post on the last page with new info. This might interest you beastcat, especially as what I posted was not meant to justify actions of others because "USA did it", but because you were pointing out that there are "civilized" countries that "dont do such things" which I disaggree of. And now we buy stuff "made in china", how can we dare to do that, it was made by damn commies. With the fall of the soviet union a new enemy was needed. So terrorists have become the new big threat, but they were kinda not that of a big threat either. Gladly we have the evil russki bears wanting to march across europe and rape our women again. The heavy industry is already counting money it will make on weapons deals with our armies as Rassmussen calls for the increase of military budgets in NATO.

And the examples I posted are also only cases wich went public and therefore had to be punished. Do you think the administration of Abu Ghraib camp or the CIA agents who were torturing the prisoners to get information didnt knew what they were doing. But they werent punished, those stupid grunts who were stupid enough to get caught on the photographs were. Just as that rape case was definately not the only one. But as long as the public interest is lying elsewhere, such cases remain unnoticed and no one gets punished. A bit more on being civilized. Who defines that some countries are civilized and some are not. For example some centuries ago we europeans were thinking (just as today) that we are the centre of civilization while other are not. Therefore it was our holy right to enslave people from less civilized countries and do with them whatever we desired. You could say, well that was centuries ago and times have changed. But in the recent history we germans, another civilized european people, have thought that we were the master race and others, especially "subhuman" slavs (that means you too beastcat) should be either exterminated or enslaved. Then we got our arses kicked and still must pay for it. But other countries were eager to take our place: USA and USSR, toppling governments across the world and bombing innocents. Speaking of USA, how long is that the segregation was abolished. How far ago is it that the civilized european countries have lost its colonies? Did you know that Nelson Mandela who fought against apartheid in South Africa was on the terrorist lists in the USA until his death? Because he was in fact a terrorist, but he has won in the end, and victors write history. And look what is happening today, Israeli government make similar politics towards palestinians as we did with "subhumans" back in third reich. And all of it was approved by the governments of that countries. So where are the so called civilized people. Nothing changes really, just the means of how we can kill each other and how the governments can brainwash us. EDIT: besides you should listen to what our politicians have to say about immigrants from eastern europe. The thing is, the amount of older people who get into retirement homes is growing while there are less and less germans who want to work there. So we need immigrants who will take over such "dirty" jobs like cleaning or working in old peoples homes. And our politicians are speaking about it like it is absolutely normal thing, without noticing how gross it sounds. I know such is reality, but still. It is as if we would repeat the practice of using people from eastern europe as labour forces for jobs no german would do, but this time they do it willingly. And it is in every "civilized" european state so. Do you think getting into the EU will make the life in Ukraine any better? Ask what Bulgarians think of it or just read some of vilas' comments. EU wants to "conquer" your market so that for example german "Lidl" can sell stuff in Ukraine. But that actually means that while "Lidl" gets reacher, whatever production is left Ukraine will cease its existence because it wont be able to compete with european production. People will lose jobs, and there will be more unemployement, educated people will leave the country, you get the picture. Is this the future you want for your country?

So USA is the same as IS and "terrorussians"? As I understand forcing prisoners to masturbate in front of cameras and torturing them and making photographs of it is also against Geneva Convention. Just as gang-raping a 14 year old girl and killing her and her family. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahmudiyah_killings http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abu_Ghraib_torture_and_prisoner_abuse But no the civilized US soldiers could have never done such a thing. It must be Putins propaganda again. That word terrorussians is actually an example of dehumanizing you have spoken of. Instead of just thinking for a second that these are people who really hate the government (maybe due to propaganda, maybe due to other reasons) and fight for their freedom its easier to call them all terrorists, i.e. people who are enemy to the "good" democratic society and therefore must be exterminated. The thing is, war is amoral, and however "civilized" the belligerents are, it will turn them into inhuman things. Just like policemen and physicians who are facing death and suffering each day become dull after a while and dont care about other peoples sufferings.

Well you can as well found a political party with certain goals but as it is the people are used to elect 1 or 2 similar parties because "they always did it" or "everyone does it" or "its good as it is, why change something" so you wont change anything. In best case your party will soon be forgotten, in worst case you will offend some big boss with your ideas and all mainstream media will be set loose upon you telling how crazy/abhuman/unmoral/totallyevil you and your party are making you regret having the idea of trying to change something. You can also go and try protest, but aparrently only the russians and chinese are evil when they use police to quell dissent. Western countries are entirely eligible to do it in order to retain peace and order. What I mean, as long as someones big interests are at stake, the interests of the common people are flushed down the toilet and you can start as many political campaigns as you want, most likely it will royally backfire.

    Iraq (current news/events)

From what I heard Iran has its own interests in Iraq and is apparently going to protect it with any means. I guess if the times were different (e.g. no Ukraine and Gaza conflicts) the public interest would be shifted completely towards Iraq and maybe the involved parties in that conflict would act different.

Nothing, I was just implying that they werent trying to earn some blood money from that conflict since the works on the project started before the recent war. Stop looking for traces of conspiracy theories everywhere.
