    The Thing 2011

Yet another remake a perfect movie that doesn't even need remaking...lame.:( Even by today's standards the FX are totally amazing, far more convincing than all the CGI stuff of today Oh, no doubt at all they will include these really tired and unnecessary conventions for today's PC crowd (I hope they use anyone but Ryan "Mr. Derp" Reynolds for the token wisecracker).

ITV fakes terrorist footage using ARMA II

The quality of the clip used in the documentary was much paler and washed out looking than the original youtube version. Part of me suspects the quality may have been deliberately altered in a lame attempt to make it look plausible. Don't rush out and buy me a tinfoil hat just yet - it may well have been due to something as simple as a researcher accidentally deleting the original footage and desperately trying to cover his mistake. Apparently it has been pulled from the ITV site until they re-edit it with the original footage...lets hope for their sake it exists.:butbut:

This + Arma = Perfect Game

Arma for me is close to perfect. I would just like to see more sim-like vehicle handling and a dynamic campaign, Falcon 4.0 style.:bounce3: Asking a bit too much, I know. Maybe in fifteen years time?:)

ITV fakes terrorist footage using ARMA II

I've never said this to anyone on a forum before, but in this instance I can assert with complete confidence: You are a shill. Whether it was deliberate or simply a goof made by a researcher, it is still extremely bad form. If ITV actually hope to "crystalize public opinion" with their blatant propaganda pieces, then they might want exhibit a degree of professionalism, as well as avoid infringing on a company's intellectual property.
  5. Hi folks. I have always been a fan of OFP and ARMA but I am not usually the sort to get involved in forum discussions. However after what I have just seen I felt compelled to start a thread here. Last night, a U.K based T.V channel broadcast a documentary discussing the Libya's alleged support of the IRA. When discussing how the IRA were capable of shooting down helicopters with Libyan weaponry, they showed what was painfully obvious to be footage of ARMA II, labeled as "IRA footage 1988". Someone has already taken the liberty of posting the particular segment on Youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6r-kNct630 You can watch the documentary in full here: http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=276162 This bothers me on so many levels. Is it even legal for them to use footage of B.I's engine in this manner? ---------- Post added at 11:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 AM ---------- I would also like to make it clear that ITV in NO WAY indicated that it was supposed to be some kind of reconstruction, it was clearly labeled as "IRA footage 1988".
