  1. Honestly at this point I don't much care about proving my points anymore as it's all just pointless bickering and speculating between defenders and critics, but I will have to search for it again as it was on this forum somewhere.

then your words have no weight, you claim something without backing it up, simply silly. Lika a grandma sitting on a bench and telling stories, nobody listens to.

  2. what about t-100, at least t-90 had moveable plates as well if i remember right.

I tried again to play the campaign but it is simply impossible to play. The game slows down to a crawl, getting at most 3-7 FPS when firefights break out. When I press ESC, it goes up to 35.

At this point. the game is broken. This has to be fixed soon. It's just disturbing that the slowdowns are apparently caused by AI actually doing what it is supposed to do.

what mission, what are your system specs?

  3. usually, flight sim games, have smowhat low detailed terrains, so it actually allows them to make very large worlds. But thats just tradeoff, i guess you could make a terrain in arma the size of flight sim, with samd amount detalization as this games have, but who needs it? Arma 3 is now infantery combat focused, so having huge terrain with little bits of detail is useless.

  4. Mod is great! Explosions finally looks what they should look like. With lighting it looks awesome.

If those yellow balls after explosion became smaller and if they could be source of light it would look be pure win.

Basically what I mean is center emanating with white light with darker glow from yellow to orange.

    Blastcore R1 + Blastcore Tracers + JSRS + bCombat = proper gameplay! :D

and vts weaponresting. Now you can finallyshoot of watchtowers like the boss ;). But yeah, all you listed, are must have mods for arma!

  5. I don't think that's the point.

I agree that Frostbyte is not a solution for Arma, as a matter of fact, I don't think there is an engine out there that can handle Arma-type games for the sheer size of the terrain. Outerra maybe, because it can create big terrains, but so far most of it looks procedurally generated, and it's not clear to me in how far a terrain for Outerra could be really designed in every detail.

Asking for dropping RV in favor of CryEngine will not work. CryEngine cannot handle the terrain size.

But there are issues with the RV engine where it shows its age, and those issues are in dire need of addressing. In this time and age, being non-multithreaded and restricted to 32 bits is already quite a drag. The terrain technique is basically unchanged from 2001'S Flashpoint. People are right to point out that the engine is aging. There has been a lot of work recently, and to be honest, a sunrise in Arma has never looked so stunning as it does now in Arma 3 with a bit of the new fogging thrown in. But we REALLY need adaptive terrain grids, or VBS3's high-res inserts, in order to have roadside ditches and good terrain micro-detail.

So, as usual, the truth is somewhere in between. I don't think Arma needs a new engine, but I do need the Arma engine needs a few major upgrades

well, one thing saying: rv engine suxxzorz! Frostbyte gives me 120fps! BI should get rid of that engine! Another, to say, rv engine is really the one engine, what can handle arma needs, yet it's quite old, and needs a big update. Thus game engine "experts", are quite amusing, they want to put a formel 1 car engine, in to a mining truck, because they want more speed. ;)

  6. AAF Reinforcements was considered a DLC? What, like the Campaign is considered a DLC? I thought it was just a fancy name for an update. It's not a DLC like BAF, PMC, or ACR (among other things, fancy logos, separate campaigns, new characters, vehicles, aircraft, etc). Maybe that's what he means by DLC.

you can name it "freelc", since you had not pay for it anything. But you are paying for "updates" with DLC.

  7. So what? The current enigne is not able to handle 96 AI's spwaning at once? In words "ninety-six"? Since when 96 Ai's are "rather specific"? What about multiplayer coop missions like Domination or Warfare that made ArmA popular? So why did you release Atlis? Should we play 8 vs.8 pvp on Altis?

Please bear in mind that the single player campaign is just a "nice to have", 'cause once your customers finished it they will see the muliplayer button and find an epic fail. We are close to one year after alpha release, but the content is still poor, lots of bugs, no DLC's, and we obvioulsy play with an engine that is not able to handle 96 Ai's spwaning at once.

    Dream on ;)

no DLC's? Forgot about AAF additions? Or you would preffer to pay for it? Damn BI, you just lost a chance to cash us 15$ for this!

And yeah, you should reread what he said perhaps one more time.

  8. what about, splting altis in parts, for multiplayer pourpose? For example more simple PvP missions, being in small radious, don't require whole map, so mission makers, could use a piece of altis, to make their missions, and people enjoy much better FPS. At least to west/east Altis, maybe to 4 parts even better, SW/SE/NW/NE.

Despite Bohemia proudly looking at Atlis with a sense of great achievement (with good reasons!) I still quite dislike the Greek Mediterranean scenery, landscapes and 'vacation' atmosphere, never have been a fan of these. I do miss the green forests, heavy grass and moody atmosphere of Arma 2 and was wondering if Bohemia was considering developing another large scale terrain that goes back to a more humid continental climate, or even snow/tundra if the LODs is an issue. Just wondering if that's considered in the long run. (probably as a DLC)

there is A3MP map pack out, with Chernarus and Takistan if you didn't know.

  9. Thanks :)

As soon as I can get some time for this mod again I'll do all necessary updates and will advance it as well. As John did not stated, Arcus Interactive did not applied any deadline to my work, so I'm literally on my own with their sounds and can take some time off some day to spent it for JSRS ;)
