Looking for a BETTER mod launcher

I personally have used OFPWatch this whole time and highly recommend that.

We should play another game sometime, Anguis! I have to say work has been making it difficult, though.

    OFP Addon request thread

What about this pack? It has BMP-1's and 2's as well as BMD-1's and 2's. Several variants and the textures are pretty good as well. http://ofp.gamepark.cz/index.php?showthis=10823 Also ORCS BMP-1 pack: http://russianmodteam.ucoz.com/load/addony/vehicle/bmp_1_ot_orcs/13-1-0-137 It may be in Russian, but I found my way around. Plus Google Chrome's auto translate feature helps with very rough translations that assists me in the correct direction. That site does have some rather nice Russian and Soviet addons. Even found a TOS-1 in there. I've had some crazy battles between NATO and Russia recently (modern). And when I wanted Cold War, there's still tons of that as well. NATO vs Warsaw Pact is pretty fun. Since I have a machine that can handle tons of units, the chaos has been immense.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

Command and Conquer Tiberium universe would be perfect in this 2030's setting. Considering Tiberian Sun (and Firestorm) took place in the 2030's. Guess if I get the motivation I could do it, but if anyone's up for making a few basic retextures for TibSun era GDI, Brotherhood of Nod, and The Forgotten, feel free. Will give references. Sadly it'd have to be without walker-type units. Perhaps could be an alternate-reality TibSun or something. I still gotta keep working on my TibDawn stuff for the previous games, but know that Arma 3 is a perfect setting for TibSun onward. Already got some ideas for starting re-textures until modelers come in to help. But wanted to throw out this 'request' I guess for some placeholder units.

    ArmA Addon request thread

Yeah, I can't find that file anywhere it seems. 2 pages back someone updated the link for Zulu, but that link won't work anymore.
  6. Of course! Can't forget those King Cobras! :)
  7. I always did love the Green vs Tan army men. You planning on making Blue and Gray as well down the line? I'm loving this so far. :) For the helis, I imagine you'd be using the UH-1?
  8. I lost my files unfortunately with the other comp and whatever I had on my old external. I was planning on restarting anyways. Just need to master on configs for new units. Good thing I'm starting with Tib Dawn, eh? I have that list for anyone who wishes to take up modeling for stuff that needs it. After the Tib Dawn pack, gonna do Red Alert 1 (and expansions). Same thing there pretty much regarding model work. Hopefully can release small demos over time. I'm also gonna be working on these kinds of packs for ArmA 2 as well. Here's the series of games I'm gonna be working with: CNC Tiberium-verse CNC Red Alert-verse CNC Generals-verse So pretty much full circle. I'll only do 'CNC4' units to an extent, though, as I always just wanted to throw up every time I played that. But everything else, I will be working on over time. But that's the future. For now, one pack, Tib Dawn!
  9. Considering I'm more of a reskinner/retexturer and I can't model to save my life, I may need someone to model things. But sure, config help would come in handy! Mainly I'll just need to know a more efficient way to setup infantry and vehicle groups so that users won't have to place an individual unit one by one. :P (but they'd still have the choice normally of course under the F1 tab). Another thing I'd like to learn is applying death and gunfire sounds to units and weapons. I have audio clips from RA and TibDawn (they both use recycled sounds from each other). The Obelisk should be the easiest one to deal with model-wise, I think. Though coding a gigantic 'charge-up' laser for it will be a pain, especially with texture. Most units from TibDawn are classic 90's/early 2000 military equipment, so high-quality/med-quality reskins of already existing vehicles (UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, HMMWV, M1A1, M2A2, etc etc) and infantry (for infantry, I'm actually using Sanctuary's, not the reg inf models). I have full loadouts planned for GDI and Nod infantry as shown on page 1. Infantry should generally be a cinch unless we're dealing with the Black Hand from Renegade, which would require new models all together anyways. It is a massive project to undertake, but perhaps a team for this will make it that much more of a possibility. CNC Tiberium and Red Alert universes are so rich of material. I'd be interested to see what this stuff would look like beyond the RTS's and the attempts to make large scale-shooters (Renegade). I think it'd be pretty neat seeing a duel between Bradley IFV's and M1 Abrams MBT's. :P
  10. Don't worry everyone, still interested in this, but perhaps some help would be nice. A team-up perhaps? If there's an easier way to understand this crap, just lemme know. I think a redo is needed anyhow. I still have the textures (I think) and I'll likely use them, but perhaps if there's a speedier way to get stuff out without sacrificing quality, would like to know. It's mainly the configs I have to worry about - I can do everything else just fine. There's like 100's of different things when looking at BIS' configs and I'm literally going, "Okay, but what exactly do I need?" Am I just mentally challenged when it comes to all this or incompetent? Also I don't know if on my external I had the most recent stuff - I hope I didn't lose it all. Not that I had anything to show really. lol

    the official 3148 release thread

Any particular reason the mediafire link for the 15 mission campaign is trying to link to a track from the film Sum of All Fears? Also buggy4acrew error or some message like that popped up when going into game. Missing crew addon for buggy4a.pbo, but I can search for that. But from what I've seen so far, the collection of units and vehicles is rather impressive! I've played earlier versions of 3148 last year and I have to say the whole story behind this is pretty awesome! :D I think I'm gonna download the Viper and Cylon raider from OFP files first and toss it into the addons folder for fun, because I think they fit to an extent with this mod too. Also any chance to get groups for all these addons eventually or too much work? In any case I don't mind placing each individually and grouping them together. :) Had a giant group of troops going up very few Republican Infantry. I was like: :D (oh nvm about campaign thingy, downloading)
  12. Someone had once converted the Mammoth Tank from CNC Renegade to OFP - that addon was awesome and I do have it around here somewhere. However, it would be nice if someone converted that to A2/OA (also with public Mlods and such with hidden selections enabled so we can reskin and make our own versions). Because twin 120mm Cannons and massive rocket pods on either side are just too good to pass up! So would like that for A2/OA. Imagine the challenging missions that would be made for that! Plus I kinda wanted to retexture and remodify it a little bit to be a Soviet Mammoth tank from Red Alert 1 as its own individual unit. Link to thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?41649-GDI-Mammoth-Tank-V0-8-released I plan on making CNC related unit and vehicle packs soon, if someone's willing to help. Calling the pack, "ArmA II: The Great World War II" (since I'm starting with the original Red Alert). Even made a lame little logo for it. PM if interested. Also would love help on the steps it takes to do hidden selections and stuff as well as fast way to churn out units and vehicles fast, but keep great quality. :) Doubly note that I am also doing the Tiberium-verse series as well - that is my primary project, but a Soviet Mammoth from RA1 would be a nice treat too. :) Since, of course the original GDI version exists, just for OFP though, which is why I'd like a ArmA 2 version.

    WW1 Mod - ArmA 2 CO

It depends on the context of which the word was used. In a sense, the war was awesome in that it inspired awe as it was a massive conflict in which many people were dying on the front so quickly. I would personally be in awe because of my fellow man dying next to me, whether it's from an explosion, rifle round, or from a machine gun. It'd be a dreadful awe, rather than how most people use the word today. "an emotion variously combining dread, veneration, and wonder that is inspired by authority or by the sacred or sublime" However, seeing as though he used it in the 'modern' way, I do also fail to see how war is actually 'awesome' or 'rad'. Just wanted to throw out a small technicality. But back to topic, this mod surely is shaping up! Absolutely love war history. Historical mods like this are a definite download. :)

Today (Thur) and tomorrow (Fri), I am off, so....yep.
  15. UnitedOperations is a fun looking group anchuin. I've been watching a few of their operations over the years. Quite professional I might say. I'm personally following CiA (Comrades in Arms), because I have a friend or two who play in that group, I guess this is why I'm eager for a key for OA.
  16. Same. In general: I bought ArmA 2 CO last night, figured $29.99 wasn't much to lose. So yes, I need a key because of said error. Did you guys send more keys to Steam support recently or do you guys need to send more? I can play ArmA 2 fine, it's just Operation Arrowhead that I can't play right now. I'll be buying all DLC on Thursday to complete this collection (including the most recently released ACR), which would mean I have OFP1: CWC, ArmA 1: Gold, and now ArmA 2: CO plus DLC. :D Love your guys work, just a shame about not being able to launch because of no keys. I can patiently wait, though, but if an estimate could be made, that'd be fantastic, but I'd understand if it's a to be determined thing. As you guys said, it's Steam's job to give the keys to us so I'm gonna have to go prodding around Steam support forums go obtain my key. (PS. Slightly off-topic, sorry). WHY do people buy ArmA 2 only because of DAYZ? It's kind of annoying, even though DayZ does look fun. I bought it because BIS makes awesome milsims....)

@Anguis: So I mentioned getting A2 and OA? Bought CO last night. :p Will buy all DLC on next paycheck on Thur, so Co-op nights with CIA would be awesome. I'll likely revisit CIA's site, re-read the rules, and re-read mod requirements in full. Anyways, as for this. @Zulu and @Anguis both: FDF WW2 sometime would be completely awesome. :D

Since my schedule is random, specific days might not be good for me. I do think perhaps the weekends will be best for most people considering. Late night hours too, but not too late, I guess. 9-10 pm starting to whenever. However, a lot of my schedule has me working to 10 PM and 10:30 PM most of the time. *shrugs* A trend shows that I've been off Thursdays most of the time, but heh. Maybe I can request Fridays off.

Yeah, that would be amazing. We need a bigger squad than just 3 or 4 people at a time. Heck, a 12 man squad would be awesome. Would be nice to play some FDF mod as well at one point.

I am off Tuesday and Wednesday entirely if you're not busy those days. But I know tomorrow I don't go in until 1:30 PM, but I often do things in the morning. There are a few days next week where I don't go into work until 5 PM, I'll double-check those. :)

I've been typically working from early afternoon to late evening. Typically 1, 2, 3 PM startings to 10:30-11 PM end shift, so I've been quite busy. 8 hour workdays consisting of pushing a bunch of shopping carts up a parking lot; believe it or not that gets really heavy and stressful a lot of the time. But hopefully I'll be able to join you guys in a possible co-op night again. Maybe I'll be the lucky one and always survive last like the many times before. Good times, right? Yes indeed. Anyways, I'd better head out, but nice hearing from you again Anguis. I am also getting a new laptop soon with a bit more gaming capability, it's shipping to my nearest store (I got free shipping!), so maybe one day I can install A2 and DLC on it and join BiA in some of their games.
