    Pre-Orders are UP on Steam

I assume this is a big NO but would we be able to put in our serial numbers we obtained from the BI store to input and download through steam through the "Activate Product on Steam" option?
  2. I am an ArmA 2 (and soon - Take On Helicopters) player but most of my friends do not share my love for the simulation / tactical persective games that BIS makes. I was wondering if there were any other mature players who might be interested in playing through the campaigns with me now and then a few times aweek. I am a federal contractor so I usually only get a chance to play after 7-8 PM EST. I am looking to play through the campaigns without mods initially, but hey im open for anything later on. I am casual enough, so i usually play on the easier difficulty levels. (Yes I know, noob central). I was wondering if anyone wanted to get with me and set up some games a few times a week? Could be fun. My Steam ID is WrathPhoenix so let me know if your interested. =)

    Take On Difficulty Settings!

Having flown on all settings by now, i tend to agree.

    TakOH CIT managers wanted!

I may be able to help in this role. I have some experience in the gaming industry as well as being an ex fly boy (Civil Air Patrol). =) Plus I tend to play with settings most of you guys seem not to...

    Take On Difficulty Settings!

I know i have said this once before in these forums but I would just like to state this again if I may. I am a huge fan of what you guys do with your products. Both in ARMA and Take On Helicopters I really enjoy having the difficulty scale to the level you have it here. I have, at times, enjoyed just sitting back and enjoying ArmA 2 and the TOH Beta "As a game" and found it fun, entertaining, and still incredibly deep. With Take On specifically I am an ex chopper pilot in reality (Private License) and have cranked up the difficulty to a high setting and lo and behold I have found things pretty spot on. This is a great thing you guys at BI are doing with your products. Just the right depth while still fun and playable. Keep it up. :)

    ToH + A2?

I figured as much but thank you for the clarification! Even having said this I am still excited to hear this. On the downside you people are driving me NUTS! I Cannot wait any longer. TOH is going to devour my life. I have actually cancelled my battlefield 3 pre order because... between arma 2 and TOH I have no need for them anymore. =P I may still get BF3 but... BI has definitely shown me the light.

    ToH + A2?

Wait... Whoah... Can we get some clarification here? So Arma 2 "Addons" and mods will work with TOH out of the box? If I am reading this correctly we could theoretically load... Operation Arrowhead... Straight into TOH? Im not holding my breath yet but if this is actually true then...well... damn... im speechless.

    Do you use auto-hover?

Honestly? Yes... I use it all of the time. Half of the time I just prefer the aids. I like playing just for fun to be honest at least right now. I will eventually get around to going "Full Realism" but sometimes that just becomes stressful for me. I think thats one of the reason I love BI Games... I can get immersed in realistic qualities yet at the same time I can enjoy the accessibility when I just dont want to deal with it.
  9. Well I have finally had the time to finish the TOH beta and I wanted to take a chance to go and give my (humble) opinion. A bit about me, I used to be a pilot for the civil air patrol but mostly fixed wing, only a few hours behind a rotary wing craft... I will try to make my points as concise as possible considering im, well... drunk. After a sort of "Ambush" drinking binge... long story. :) 1) TOH still shares some of the same issues that ARma 2 had. Make no mistake, im going to play the hell out of this game, but it is *EXTREMELY* non optimized graphically speaking. TOH is capable of displaying some FANtASTIC graphics... but considering the (Sigificant) power of my machine, i should be capable of displaying most of this at max or near max settings which doesnt seem the case (just like in Arma 2)... This is not a game changer for me but it should be looked into. 2) the pedal controls seem way off.. I do not like what seem to be a "Rubber band" effect when using those controls as I am getting some rubberband like "Snap back" when trying to turn precisely. This IS NOT a problem when in external view for whatever reason but it is for internal view... 3) Terran Detail: Overall great, but there seems to be a gap between what we see in the screenshots and in the beta. My assumption is we will see a few more models filling the blanks in the map for seattle. I am not a "Graphics whore" but things seem a little...flat... right now. Plus i KNOW ive seem some models in the screenshots that dont seem to appear in the same place in the beta (Specifically, a stadium model). 4) Descent due to collective? Ok I have piloted these things a few times in real life but to be honest I still prefer more arcade style controls just because a game for me is kind of an escape. This isnt about reality vs arcade though... my only comment is that there seems to be a significant "Bounce" effect that screws up descent occasionally... i kinda feel like a nerf football when im in a craft and descending due to reduced collective. And finally the question: Plain and simple... are there more enhancements, models, optimizions (In a SIGNIFICANT form) coming prior to release for the seattle map? I have a feeling its where im going to spend a lot of my time....
  10. So first off.. Huge fan of your games Bohemia. I am very excited about TOH like I was about ARma 2... I am curious however. I am a huge fan of procedural content. I would like an experience ultimately similar to the psuedo "free play" mode inherent in the classic game SimCopter. I realize that TOH is a not trying to be SimCopter or any similar title don't get me wrong.... But my question is this: I saw the text about the "Challenges" and the procedural "Missions" that are generated there. Are the same kind of procedural missions inherent in the career mode? I am a huge fan of "Free play' but i rather prefer "Directed Free Play" if you will, where you are free to do as you want and the experience is open ended. I like the idea of knowing I wont run out of objectives.. I am always OK with a kind of separation where you have "Story" and "Procedural" missions at the same time... So at any rate, can you confirm or deny that there are any sorts of procedural missions / objectives (Such as fires, traffic issues ect) in the career mode? This will not effect my buying decsion... but it sure would make a guy like me pretty happy :) ---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:39 PM ---------- Sorry to double post but just to add a justification of why I asked this... I read in the pre order beta about the Sling Line mission and how it is procedural generated... My curiosity was rather that entire missions are generated all over the place during the campaign or whether you just had a select group of missions but those individual missions are randomized, but your limited to basically doing it once?
