I made a ticket to remove TAB lock for tanks,but it got removed and judged in few hours (weird ??? i can make 10 accounts on dev-heaven and get 20 votes for my tickets too). Nevermind,the TAB lock is the real problem,solutions we have here are just temporary and i'm sure people will find ways to exploit it again to make it as effective as previous system ... -

@OMAC Considering the SP case only is a mistake ... keeping that green square around targets is the real problem. Removing TAB lock from tanks is really the way to go !! -

T55 tank is a good example,and i think the idea i suggested is worth trying it :D Oooooh yes ! especially heavy inf ,those carrying AT are considered by tank's gunner as a vehicle. Also,AT inf attack other inf using AT rounds and there are a lot of tickets concerning this issue. -

I have made a proposition on the CIT few days ago concerning tanks,it's a solution that will please both sides ... We all know that this affects mostly the tank's main gun ,which means that gunner will engage another tanks without your permission. Currently,you have no control on the gunner;so he may attack ,for example, a METIS pod for like 5 rounds until he kills it while there's an ennemy AT guy near the tank and which your ai ignores completely.(AI loves attacking statics even with 100 AI running around it) What i suggest,is that you keep the current system,but add the possibilty to assign targets from driver seat using 2 menu and at the same time disable TAB locking.(like T55 tank). This will,in the same time,allow gunner to be independant and let the player the possibility to prioritize targets when needed. It will also prevent locking unknown targets 8 km away using TAB lock. Just play a bit with T55 tank if yo uwant to know what i'm talking about. -

Happens a lot during warfare,need to reproduce it ... for now it is just desync imo. -

@norailgunner Sorry, But radar was present on arma 2 ,you just needed to switch to commander's seat. Certainly it was different,but the effect was there ... -

@seany I know what is your feeling ... but everyone will get used to this new system later. It's like when BIS changed recoil system ... i think you rememeber how many discussions we had on that ;) -

The only annoying thing with these major changes is that you can't test betas while playing on vanilla server,because in most of cases it'll be disadvantaging. Other than this,i think that AI issues concerning target prioritizing and detection should be fixed,since now we have to trust tank's gunner to choose what to shoot first :D. -

Especially that in ArmA,you can land in natural runways ... which is not possible on another simulations .

it's a kind of feature to add an centered cursor to the pilot's helmet so we avoid all bugs that can be relatedto this. Yes,only su34 is affected. -

I'm not talking in clouds,i'm sure you know what i'm talking about (you managed to lock on the central target among 5 tanks one next to the other ? :D) Well for, A10,av8B,mi24 series the HUD is very clear because it has a certain symetry. When it comes to SU34 HUD,you really get confused ,you don't know which part of the hud you can use to lock things ... the center of it or that little cursor that changes position when you change weapon.I hope i'm clear enough. -

We all know that NLAW in real life can't lock vehicles instantly ... so maybe BIS can make it's lock a bit longer than what it is now . especially that NLAW can disable any OPFOR vehicle in one shot,and that player can carry up to 3 nlaw bullets. And concerning right click for air,it's a good idea but cursors (like those in kamov with mando mod) should be added on HUDs to give players a reference,otherwise it will be just a guess work especially for some opfor aircrafts. -

What will become javelin and nlaw ? it will disbalance things a lot ,especially for warfare players. -

the only problem with these beta is that you can't really use them for MP,since the others will have some "advantages". -

Yes,and i expressed my disagreement. And sorry if my statements are a bit harsh,besides ,there are some bugs that should be addressed first before we can use this new system starting by the one in which ai will engage ennemy vehicles manned by friendlies (feel free to make the ticket ) All these changes are made to reduce the powr of the "TAB" system ,but unless BIS proposes an alternative it will be useless. -

PvPscene's notoriety has some limits :) We all have something we're good at and no one can beat us in it,but recognizing facts and admitting the truth is priceless. Now,what PvPscene is approving is the following: Making a vehicle that has no function unless it has the Artillery computer,knowing that it has 40 (120mm ?) in the back ... Btw,i use a lot of things made by Mr Pvpscene ... -

There is something that people don't get: When,for example, you have AI as a gunner and then press TAB to lock,it supposes that AI is doing the targetting procedure and all u have to do is asking him to fire. Same goes for TANk,helicopters and GRAD or MLRS ... These are not direct hits :AI calculates angle and set the GRAD so as he could hit the target. If you don't agree then you will have to ask BIS to get the real thing,i mean all the mechanics that shows the targetting process ie:improved planes cockpits and sights with all TVs and cameras or the whole artillery setup with the mobile command center. And personally,i feel this is the part that BIS developpers try to avoid (a lot of work and time is needed for that and the product is beyond its maturity state) -
