Not everyone uses mods ... ACE is good but few people play with it... why not fixing them both ? FM and TAB lock -.- Even the l16 system ,it 's not a matter of pressing one button ... it's a whole team work behind it !

I wish i could :S But,i can help you by inviting you to join the hot topics ... and fix the things that will really improve the game ! you're making a new game ,this is not fixing arma 1/2 ... so there is no reason not to do a total overhaul !

Yes,i fixed it because i wrote that before the alpha release ! @Dwarden The alpha should have been 400 % better than what you have released ... 3 years for so poor level,and half year to fix the rest ... i don't really get you ?! Besides,it's not a good idea to compare with 1.6x a2 patch (it was not that good)... i would rather just compare with 1.60 ,it was the last huge effort from your side ! And ,sorry for sounding harsh :S

It's not about balance at all ... TAB lock even balances sometimes by unifying the targetting systems ... making an Apache and Mi24V on the same level ... You can't defend TAB lock from any point of view : realism,balance,gameplay ! When a pilot jumps in his F22,it's not by pressing the BIG red button that he will lock on a target ! any targetting system in the world no matter how sophisticated it is, needs some kind of preparation and initial informations ... you dont acquire targets from no where -.- Personally ,i am not even asking BIS for some big effort to bring DCS like systems,but just to make the targetting more challenging,since their TAB banana is not realistic anyway ! it will also give some special "thing" to the different vehicles !

The question is : what did BIS to encourage military mods and missions ?

Because,you spend the whole day,raping AI tanks with your 24 missiles HELI ... TAB lock is one of the main reasons why the PVP scene on this game is dead,and people migrate to non military game mods ! the fights on warfare missions (for example) are just TAB wars on every server,and it's just not funny at all ! Like if,TAB lock was a matter of two scripting lines ... not even an onTargetLOcked event -.-

First,i am talking about achieving the same result as a joystick ... on DCS you can't achieve the maximum level with mouse and keyboard ! which is not the case in arma,with mouse and keyboard you can do what ever you want ! Arma flight model is not sophisticated enough to require a joystick ,let's say it this way ... i know people (including myself) who can do crazy maneuvers with mouse and keyboard ... Like a racing simulator ... as long as you can play it with something else than a racing wheel ,it's not a simulator ^^

Depending on the mission,you need to choose whther you want to save client's FPS and tolerate a certain amount of lag/desync or sacrify the clients FPS by pushing the server to synchronize everyone .... MaxMsgSend is the first value you should play with,the more packets you send the more people will be synced with the server and therefore, their FPS will converge towards the server fps (doesn't mean it will be equal to it ) ... imagine now your maxmsgsend is 128 and the mission is so heavy and a lot of things are happening on the map,the server needs to send more than 128 messages ,let's say 192, but it can't so it will need to wait for the next simulation cycle to send what's left of the 192 and the new messages in that next simulation cycle ===> desync ! The other case is having too high maxmsgsend,which may go beyond the server bandwidth capabilities ! Well,it's related to the mission itself ,for example Warfare BE with 50 players connected ,but few action will require less maxmsgsend than the same mission with a lot of action on the map and people using AI and triggering many towns ! Be aware that maxmsgsend is related to the maxsize values,since you can reduce the number of packets sent,by increasing the size of the packet !

As i said on another thread a system that works for some country won't necessarely work on another one ! Arab countries are completely diffrent from european ones,the societies are not the same ... you do not land among 1.7 billion of muslims and say : ok,we gonna make this secular,it's not going to work ! those countries are muslim because the majority is and yes,the shariah is the rule (only some gulf countries do apply it) ... and it won't apply on you if you're not muslim ! it's like any other organisation ! once you're engaged you accept the rules and follow them ,and in case you do not ,you assume your responsibility !

Well,i wouldn't get my expectations to a high level,but at least i hope they give us enough scripting commands to change vehicles !
