Thank you so much DaRkL3AD3R! I really really really hope that BI will implement a logic map for that midrange! @DNK: You have to understand that this is a proof of concept that I made with my own taste in mind. It is more important to understand that your wishes can be achieved with the system rather than showing off many different examples to please any taste. I for myself like the sharp look - and the example pics you showed in your last post have small details on them too. I would rather agree to your changes and create a different version for you if this system was implemented yet. The way it is atm - I dont see any advantage in creating another version. Sry;) But to answer your question: No it is not possible to do that atm. While there is a theoretical possibilty for this procedure, I would not count on @it.;) DMarkwick: Yes 457 votes now=) Still I feel that we need more cogency to get this into the developers minds...=/ And I would send it to you - but without the logicmap beeing implemented into the game theres no way this can be integrated into the game. The way I create the pictures atm is that I redo the steps that the logic map would do otherwise. That means I: ...create different mid_range_textures ...load one into the game and make a screenshot from a specific point in a specific angle. ...load another texture into the game and retake the screenshot. ...after I did that with all needed textures I open the Screenshots in Photoshop and create a mash-up - the way the engine would do it on the fly. So sry - theres nothing I could send you really. Even more this shows why we need the stated improved system! So: Please guys! Spread the word! Why not send a message to a developer telling them how much you would appreciate this system? The more people demand it the more they will understand how much this is needed! Greetings! Excellent work! I have to say I was a bit sceptical because when I used Sixupdater a few years ago - it was rather complicated though it had great possibilites of course. I am very happy to see such an excellent gui! Really like it! The only thing I am missing so far is a possibility to add already existing modfolders (such as ones own current projects) to the mod list. I know the startup parameters are easily accessable and ready to serve that issue - but I am sure there is a more elegant way to improve this;) Keep up the great work! Best regards! -

To make it clear again: Of course Bad Bensons textures look good at most places! The main part of my system is created to avoid things like this. On the other hand - I find the difference significant even on the example I did before. But then again - thats a question of perception. Maybe you arent that much affected by details;) Anyways - heres a comparison of BadBensons textures and my system. I have to disagree. Even though Sweet FX is used for the images, the comparison is representative. I used the same effects on both. I will consider adding a version without SweetFx. But since its at least 45min workload for sth I consider unnecessary, I am not really fond of doing this. Especially since in my eyes the examples are completely representative. Greetings -

I finally managed to pack and unpack pbos without problems. I even got the files working ingame. Before After But I cant manage to get them into an addon on its own. I think I have to simply refine the path of the edited files in the config.bin. The problem is: In no config whatsoever can I find the regarding file! I searched all Arma3 pbos for an entrance in the configs - 158 configs. So I dont know what to alter to get the addon running. Please help^^

Haha^^ Jeah - spring is coming - the fish are swimming north again^^ I really hope that too! I dont know how modable the engine is, but I sadly seriously doubt that such a system can be implemented by a modder=( But I would love to be proven wrong! Greetings! -

More people need to try this out! Bump ---------- Post added at 05:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:30 PM ---------- Ive got a I5 2500k and a radeon HD5850pro with 8gig ram on Win7. A friend of mine is running Arma3 on a low tech system and it still runs! I can only recommend you buying the alpha - its a really great deal since you basically get the final game for a third of its price + you are able to participate in its development! Greetings!

A little help with creating an addon

I am working on an addon that fixes some colours of the trees and bushes. Here is what I did: 1_Before 1_After 2_Before 2_After I already managed to get the stuff working in my own Arma - but I simply changed data in the vanilla pbo and put it in A3/addons/. Now since I want to create an addon for those who have the same taste as me - I need to know what I have to change exactly to get an addon running in its own mod folder. I think I have to do the following: Put the changed files in a folder structure like: */PBOname/data/changedfiles.pbo In the */PBOname/ folder belongs the $PBOPREFIX$ file with the input Myname/PBOname. Also there has to be a config.bin and a texheaders.bin To create the config.bin I would first derapify the existing one of the source folder and then search for the file I changed. I would edit the path of that file - but I dont know how exactly the new path should be. Also I dont know if there is anything else important to let in the config.bin. On top of that I dont know how to create/ and or what to change in the texheaders.bin. Also I have to mention that atm I am forced to take Eliteness 2.93 since thats the only tool I got working till now. (the other tools like BinPBO run without errors but deliver me results the game wont use) I hope someone can help me. Greetings! -

Its not SweetFX that we talk about. Its a new system for ground textures. Atm theres only one small texture that gets tiled over the whole island. My suggested system would allow for more variations and the above post is only to show the possibilities you get with it. To make it clear: At the moment theres only one texture that gets layed over gras, sand, beach and urban environments. There are allready two addons that change this texture to get better results - still they are limited to ONE TEXTURE THAT GETS TILED OVER the whole island (size=1024x1024). There are parts where these textures really shine - but in the end its impossible to find a texture that gets the optimum out of every environment. Think about Altis with its roughly 400km^2. How shall one texture fit everywhere? If you want an easy to understand and complete explaination about the theme - read the mainpost. I kept it as understanding as humanly possible. Greetings!
