    Thanks for the Patch guys

Just came back to TOH after taking it off hard drive in version 1.1. It was unusable then. Well done BIS. Now its shaping up very nicely. Great work.

    Multimonitor with one gpu possible?

Not sure what the error message means but if you use an adaptor display port > to something else ,not all of them will work as cjph said. The active ones give the most reliable results if your monitor doesnt have a display port socket. If you google displayport active adapters ,there is an article on overclock.net that has a nice summary. ( tried to cut and paste but ipad doesn't want to cooperate) it does say this is a requirement for three rather than 2 monitors.
  3. Batch, if you happen to have a little extra coin for an SSD you'll be very pleased I think, at how Arma2 performs on that system. But even with a standard HDD it'll be very playable due to fast CPU.
  4. It must be hard to pinpoint the problem when it happens on different systems with different software setups. My error message: "Reinforcements has stopped responding" My system: i5 2500K no overclocking win 7 pro 64 OEM Gskill Ripjaws 16G DDR3 ASUS Z68 LX MBoard Intel 510 SSD Arma2 and CO from disc Only mod is Shacktac movement I play SP . Not tried MP
  5. Dragon19, you should come close to being able to run at full tilt. If you have a little extra $$ an ssd instead of your hard drive will give you inceased performance.

    ARMA 2 Patching FAQ

Electryx, I don't know if this applies to you but my ARMA 2 on disc was version 1.01 (not 1.10) In order to bring it up to date I had to patch with 1.00 to 1.09 patch , available on home Arma 2 website then proceed from there to latest version. The biggest deposit of patches can be found at armaholic.com they have them from the very first that were released. Great website.
  7. After fiddling about with the batch file from post no.1, I deleted everything including registry entries and started from scratch. It now works as intented. Here is my recipe: 2 DVD: Arma2 and OA Download Patch 1.6 for OA Method: Load Arma2 from disc Load OA from disc to the same directory OA disc has 1.06 patch for Arma2 so allow it to patch to 1.06 when installer asks you if it can do it. Then apply patch 1.6 Open OA , arma2 is there in the expansion menu. During the process, I don't open anything until its all loaded and the two patches 1.06 and 1.6 are applied. Took me 4 attempts with different variations e.g load arma 2 patch it to 1.10,then load OA etc etc etc. Didn't work. Even made 1 attempt to load OA first. PS. The batch file also works.
  8. Thanks for that insight . Useful to know , if used well , the AI friendlies can genuinely help. As they did in this SP mission. Thanks again
  9. And does the AI behaviour (for friendlies ) improve the further you get into arma or is it necessary to deploy them in a way that keeps them out of harms way as happened in this mission?
  10. Done. Followed your strategy Cameron. Took three attempts. Was getting nowhere before. Thanks. After parking the squaddies on the hill ,went to south side of church ,had to deal with the machine gunner surrounded by sand bags and then s_l_o_w_l_y crawled to BDM to lay satchel charge. I like the T keyboard press Polecat . I would have run the mission as the sniper if Cameron's suggestion didn't work for me. In case others have trouble with the extraction, I eventually found the radio command to ask Petra to come to pick us up. Oh and he's in a truck not a car as the notes say. In fact the AI ended up doing the difficult work of finding the warlord and dealing with one of the machine gunners around the BDM. So in the end the AI came in very useful. "AI being more autonomous and less cooperative in combat mode." Maturin definitely this was very true before asking them to stay on the side of the hill. But they were making naive, and deadly mistakes. Literally standing in the middle of the street under the lights 200m from the BDM and machine gun emplacement.
  11. Newb. Managed to get through trial by fire . Now onto "Eye for an eye" No matter what instructions are issued to my AI squad members, after a few seconds/minutes they become insubordinate and ignore all commands . They proceed to stand ,often under the lights in the main street , refuse to take cover when asked to and fire rather than being discreet. This gets them killed. The mission ends .Even though I remain alive. Is there a way I can tie these bozos up or keep them in barracks so I can try and do my best on my own ? Is one of the aims of this SP mission to learn how to control the AI squaddies ?
  12. recent upgrade from: AMD 955 BE cpu Gigabyte 770 TA Mboard MSI 5770 GPU (1G VRAM) Win 7 32 Os to Intel I5 2500K Asus z68 Sapphire 6850 (2G VRAM) win 7 64 OS All on triple monitor Dell 23" setup running Eyeinfinity My impression is: the i5 /Mboard combo made the biggest improvement to FPS. Adding the videocard allowed me to turn up the details. I can run antialiasing on high to vhigh for some slowing of FPS. First time I've been able to turn on AA . In the single player missions benchmarks: Benchmark 1 runs at 35 to 40 fps with details on high to v.high Benchmark 2 25 fps. Before 15 to 16 FPS maximum on settings turned off or lowfor both bmarks Visually now, the game is stunning, only occasionally do I see tearing in midscreen when turning quickly side to side. Before I was looking for ways to improve FPS . Now this problem is more settled. Thanks to all who have posted their experiences.
