    Balkan war mod w.i.p

AKR is a .PBO (akr.pbo) file of the mod which stores infantry weapons used by BWM. However, this does not mean that the akr.pbo is missing. Missions create addon CLASSES depending on config files in section CfgPatches which can have different names than the PBO file. Open up your "Mission.sqm" file (in MyDocuments\Arma2\missions\YourMissionName.ISLAND\mission.sqm) Delete everything that has "" under AddOns and addOnsAuto (example "akr", "VRS_BIHMen" etc.) and save the file, make a backup of that "Mission.sqm" just in case you make a mistake in this deleting process and you wish to try it again, copy it somewhere on your computer. Start the game and select your mission in the editor so the game (re)collects all present class names used in the mission you created. Start the mission and if all works well, save the mission. After that you can also save it as a SP mission...
  2. Yes, this is a great addon. Subroc, you can eliminate the AI bypassing problem by removing the geometry shape (in model's Geometry) or lower the geometry shape beneath the actual mine position and keep the LandContact points. That way the AI won't see the mine as an "obstacle" in it's path. Also put RoadWay component (Component01)over the mine just in case (1m x 1m will do it). Cheers :) Edit: Also you can check out in BIS sample models for ArmedAssault what kind of Geometry the AT mines have, so the tanks don't bypass them.

That has something to do with the configs.

@ziggy76: Praga will be included later on in the mod, personally I also see no point in making the mod without it. I've even sent him some camo patterns and sounds (real stuff)some time ago, just for praga, when he decides it's time to make one. Nice work SuperRat, keep it up.

Yes ARBIH was illequipped in every segment except manpower (and most of the time they were low on ammo or even weapons), armor was a precious asset for ARBIH and artillery was also limited in numbers compared to the amount of hardware VRS/SVK or even HVO had at their disposal (not just the guns but amunition as well). Croatian Army (HV) at that time was also very well armed. They had a lot of artillery and concentrated their tanks in Guards Brigades (9 such brigades existed).

There will be MiG-21 and G4 Galeb light attack jet, they're still work in progress,it would be great if SuperRat finds some time to do that MiG-29 too.

I thought he ment to say "who cares, they're all Serbs", nevermind... Anyway it's an entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina. VRS wasn't destroyed, it got blended into the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a result of defence and security reform in 2005. That year I was supposed to be recruited into the Federal Component (back then there were still HVO and ARBIH),and the recruiting office assigned us by our nationality. However military service bypassed us due to the acquisition of the reform.

@Mensur: It might be that something was typed in incorrectly with the config since it won't fire at all (I reccon that the weapon or magazines or ammo was not defined properly- probably misspelled some of the class names ). Similar goes with turning (CfgSkeletons & CfgModels),or mistyped selections inside the model itself. The first is more probable.

@Gibanica: I've just finished reading through the YT channel. It was terrible...I understand some people got insulted and upset, I would be too, but there were other ways to deal with what happened. (nismo više djeca / we're not kids anymore). Anyway, congratulations on the first release!

@NOWKE: You have some online translating programs/dictionaries (SRB->ENG) that enables you to input an entire sentence and the program will do the work (if you're struggling with language).

Well, the mod will provide the necesary hardware (vehicles, statics etc. which were used in the wars) and some basic infantry units. I figure most other infantry units will be made by other teams of addonmakers (remember that OFP still has modding crews working, now A2 time is still not done, and maybe years will pass until it is completely obsolete). So I would expect an expansion of this and other mods (about Balkan conflicts) in the years to come. I personally don't have a rig to take on A2,and I believe many ppl don't, when they do get it they will want to learn how to make their own things and contribute.

SA-6 Kub is already made for BWM. You should read through the thread (from page 1) before asking. S-125 SA-3 "Neva"? V600?? With 4 AA missiles??? I think it will be there ;) I hope SuperRat will relese it in a patch at least. (I made a basic model of Neva and sent it to SuperRat for some fine touches and paintjob.) Well the thing brought down a F-117 (Oh sorry, we didn't see you!! :))

It's a reworked OFP model I think :) Can be fixed. Could also be a mapping problem.

That's how a muzzle brake looks like on a M-46 howitzer. Twin S-60 57mm guns of ZSU-57-2 have these muzzlebrakes too: http://www.military-today.com/artillery/zsu_57_2.jpg It's a perforated (pepperpot-type) muzzle brake. D-30 has a double-baffle muzzlebrake and older types of D-30 also have multi-baffle muzzlebrakes (Tonći to su one na haubicama koje vidiš na slikama o Vukovaru) http://www.armyrecognition.com/customer/thierry/serbia/d30_02.jpg http://www.militaryfactory.com/armor/imgs/d30.jpg I've noticed that the recoil spring-system of the M-46 is a bit small. http://www.militaryfactory.com/armor/imgs/m46-m1954_2.jpg

Lovely :) Nice going SuperRat. Great "VBR". :) If you want mortar-like effect put initSpeed = 120; in CfgMagazines and thrustTime = 2; in CfgAmmo -> 120m/s and rocket burns for 2 seconds. Tweek these values 'till you get what you want. (120 and 2 is just a guess), and one more thing - put this in CfgAmmo: timeToLive = 60; (so the rounds don't "disapear" in mid-air). I use this for mortars via scrpits so AI shells your position at long range, so far 3000m is the longest those mortars shot (120mm). It takes a shell about 50 seconds of flight and then BOOM. :D @Tristan: T-62's weren't used but the Croatian Army had (7 to 12) Mi-24 "Hind" gunships. Some were used in Operation "Southern Draw" (Operacija Južni Potez) and Operation Storm (Oluja) There is a video on the first. or here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yknTnF610Ic (one hour long) I was pretty surprised to see that Croatian Army HAD a Mi-24 at that time. I knew that Serb JSO (Special Operations Unit) later aquired two Hinds and they were used on Kosovo.

Nice, is this a new model or are you upgrading the one shown earlier? :) Oh I almost forgot, will you add M18 "Hellcat" tank-destroyer down the road, I've noticed we're missing something ;) These WW2 era vehicles were used in significant numbers in Bosnia and Croatia
