  1. No, it is clearly the Merkava 4M. While the Mi-28 is not intended for use as a transport, it does have a small passenger compartment capable of carrying three people. The planned purpose of this is to enable the rescue of downed helicopter crews. The fuselage of the Mi-28 has a bay fitted with a hatch door. The bay can accommodate three people for the rescue of downed friendly air crew. You can see the hatch here under the left engine (scroll through the pictures): http://www.military-today.com/helicopters/mil_mi28_havoc_images.htm
  2. Some Russian helicopters have had a small hatch space for the ability to pick up downed pilots. These are not regular troop cargo spaces, the guy has to really squeeze in.

FN 2000s for the US military?

Well actually it was pretty much a heavily modified S-92 as far as we know. S-70 just doesn't fit the profile in the pictures. Having fired tens of thousands of 5.56, I would call it anything but "weak" ;) . Google the M855A1 and see the pen. power of it. However, the range does leave something to be desired.

FN 2000s for the US military?

As you can see, the ammunition size is roughly the same (so is the weight ~). Where they mainly differ is ballistics. I have a feeling that they chose the .300 over the .338 mainly since the .300 is a homegrown vs. the .338 Lapua.

FN 2000s for the US military?

For the life of me, I can't understand why they went the .300 over the .338 round. The .338 is superior in nearly every way over the .300 for a sniper. The XM2010 is basically a modernized Remington 700, underlying action is still the same with just new furniture. Though I will say, any advancement over the old .308 is better.

    They better have female soldiers...

Who said the women are skinny? I once met a female M240 gunner, she was bigger (and stronger) than me. As a child in Siberia, she had to walk 10km everyday to get water from a well and bring it back. Needless to say, the M240 and the army marches were a joke for her. http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3347/dotz141110704scroppedbiay8.jpg 200kb

That's what I said in the last paragraph. :)

All the cases you described are all done before going out into the field. Also, you either zero your rifle with a suppressor or without. The suppressor adds weight unto the barrel which shifts your zero and point of impact. Also, except for certain SF units, most soldiers do not want to use suppressors for a simple reason, they work both ways. When you are in the field enough, you learn to distinguish between AK fire and M16 fire. Hence, you can tell where friendlies are and where the enemy is in relation to them. Having them suppressed defeats that advantage. And finally, while a suppressor does suppress the initial discharge blast, it does not suppress the supersonic crack of a regular 5.56mm or 7.62mm round. In regards your laser pointer, that must be done before hand in order to zero the laser in. Google "ATPIAL". Please understand, I am just addressing the points you bring up in regards to real life; but ArmA3 is a game and I wouldn't mind seeing such an option in it.

The only accessory I, and anyone else I've ever worked with, needed to change in the field was the scope (from day scope to night scope). But hey, it's a game at the end of the day; so why not.

Well it all depends. Most people can use the ACOG with both eye's open, assuming that the eye looking into the ACOG is the dominant eye. If not, only then do you have to close one eye to see through the scope. ---------- Post added at 11:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:37 AM ---------- Who changes weapon accessories on the move in real life? For that matter, who even changes them outside a base.

Well Lemnos is about 477 sq. km, Chernarus is 225 sq. km and Sahrani was 101.62 sq. km. Seems to nearly double each iteration.

I wouldn't mind having ACRE as an option; but I would loath to see it forced upon us as mandatory.

    AI CQB Idea

I figure a problem will arise when the modders start designing their own buildings that were not pre-scripted into the AI. Nice idea though.
  22. One more small note, the Namer is classified as an AFV rather than an APC. Though to be honest, there is little difference between the two designations other than marketing. Good work on the thread so far.
  23. Small note, it's the Merkava 4M that appears in the screenshots. Only the 4M version has Trophy mounted (older units are being upgraded to this standard). Also the Plasan M-ATV appears in a screenshots on BiS's page. You can add the AN/PVS-15 NVG to the list as well.
