  1. Definitely the most formidable looking tank out there today. It may not have the smooth sexy lines of other tanks, but then again it's not competing in a beauty contest.
  2. In addition, they missed out on a variant of the Rafael RCWS-30 Samson on the Namer, you can throw that up there. And an even better pictures for you to use for the Merkava 4M: http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/8484/60453900674292472e9eb.jpg > 100kb http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/6201/6045390317958845df74b.jpg > 100kb

Customizable Soldier Load ( seriously?? )

Indeed, you are always advised to scream out "reloading" or "jam". The reasons are two-fold: 1)- So they [squadmates] know that you can't cover them at that second and won't advance or retreat until you have reloaded. On the flipside, they know to cover you (and your sector) as well till you are ready again. 2)- So they know you have not been hit. If you had not screamed out "reloading" then all they would have noticed is an abrupt cessation of firing from your position which may distract your squadmates to check if you are injured, etc.

Customizable Soldier Load ( seriously?? )

You have to change the gas setting for that to work.
  5. Dragon Skin is not reliable under hot temperatures (think: desert, Iraq), it failed to stop incoming rounds.

    Merkava... IDF??

    He was being sarcastic.

    Merkava... IDF??

A few things to note: 1)- Both Merkava tanks (NATO and OPFOR) were using Israeli camouflage. The NATO one was using standard Israeli OD Grey/Green, the OPFOR was using an older and rarely used Israeli camo scheme. 2)- Both tanks had Trophy, although the OPFOR also had an Namer AFV. To be honest, I have no idea where BIS is going with this.

Going Cyclic; Blind Firing; Recon by Fire

In Vietnam it was roughly 50,000 rounds per kill, or around $60,000; but snipers averaged 1.3 rounds per kill, or $2. ;)

    Merkava... IDF??

As much as I am looking forward to the Merkava 4M with Trophy, I am even more excited by the prospect of the Namer with Iron Fist. Imagine thinking the APC will be an easy kill for your tank, only to have your KE shell blasted out of the sky (or bounce off) and having several Spike missiles rain hell on you.

    Merkava... IDF??

Well I can see the Namer easily becoming part of the U.S. Military; hell, some of the are actually built by GM in the U.S. right now. Plus it would offer a heavy APC option that the U.S. has been sorely lacking for some time now (even the Russians have one)

    Merkava... IDF??

Stealing land... do you get hard every time you keep repeating these lies? Quick question, if the West Bank is so called Palestinian, then why didn't they protest against Jordan occupation of it for over 20 years? If Gaza was so called "Palestinian", then why didn't they protest against Egyptian occupation of it for over 25 years? I think we both know the answer to that. Way back on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said: And finally, this is not the forum to discuss such matters. If you want to continue this discussion then feel free to PM me.

    Merkava... IDF??

Fine, no Trophy or Arrow for you. :icon_rolleyes: Seriously, if you have beef with funding anyone then start with Egypt, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc, before you start complaining about the one U.S. Ally in the region that actually gives something back.
  13. And it will still be a niche round 20 years from now since no one is going to give up the 5.56 or 7.62 in foreseeable future.

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

Only Iron Fist is effective against KE penetrators since it basically slices them in half or deflects them enough to make them loose their forward kinetic energy.

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

The Merkava 4M has plenty of armor to defend it from local (regional threats) KE shells, the biggest threat against it is ATGMs and that's where the automatically reloading TROPHY comes in.
  16. Brute Force

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

TROPHY was not designed, nor needs, to stop kinetic energy weapons (SABOT, etc) as it has the tanks thick armor for that purpose. However, the Iron Fist system can intercept KE weapons.
  17. Where? All I saw was the Merkava 4M.
  18. Brute Force

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

RPG-30 is still useless against Trophy and Iron Fist. The designers of the APS systems already thought of this; the systems identify the type of round incoming (it can focus on several threats) and prioritize them for destruction. That way an incoming RPG-7 will be ignored an a Kornet will be destroyed if both are launched at the same time. Not to mention that the engagement rate is under ~500ms. Trophy was originally tested several years ago by the U.S. which found that it had over a 97% kill rate, even higher than the 95% claimed by Rafael at the time. However, politics intervened and the U.S. opted to wait for Raytheon's "Quick Kill" that never showed up in a fielded form (surprise, surprise :rolleyes2:). That's why the U.S. retested Trophy recently on a STRIKER and found it passed with flying colors. They are considering fielding TROPHY on the STRIKERS.

    Tanks with TROPHY?!

We have already noticed that. That's why in this thread the tanks are listed as the Merkava 4M (4M versions have Trophy). The real mystery is why the Namer doesn't have the Iron Fist system outfitted on it in-game.
  20. The M-ATV is made by Plasan and marketed by Oshkosh. My bad on the M-249, I stand corrected. However, the F-35 seems to be the A version since it has Air Force written on the side of it. Only the Marines are getting the B version.
  21. OK, I'm going to start listing what I see: TAR-21 Tavor M-249 SAW Plasan M/ATV Merkava 4M (In both Israeli Camo and Israeli OD Green) Namer AFV (though without the Iron Fist system for some reason) RAH-66 Comanche "Hamok Hybrid" (Fictional) F-35A One other thing I noticed, is the flag on the "enemy", seems to be Iranian hybrid. My guess is that BiS made a smart move, in order to incorporate the IDF (weapons and vehicles) but without actually including the IDF, they made it as if the IDF got overun and the Iranians are now using the IDF weapons. Just a guess.
  22. I think they can find some volunteers in these forums to put in an optional native voices add-on. Hell, I would volunteer to do some of the Hebrew work.
  23. I served alongside the Merkava 4, and 4M. I'm pretty sure I can tell that it is a Merkava 4M. :)
