Do you want Laaagdoll Physics in ArmA 3?

So you'd rather have corpses potentially clipped into surrounding ground/buildings/trees/models? Static animations can't handle things "getting in the way" of the animation... Oh.. the evolution of this is ragdoll, which manipulates the model so you get a realistic death.

    64 bit engine :-(

And given that you can still run 16bit apps on Windows 7 x64 gives an indication how long they keep the compat. layers around. ---------- Post added at 02:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:08 PM ---------- you don't need a 64bit application to use 64bit datatypes (long/double) ---------- Post added at 02:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:10 PM ---------- A similar thing could be accomplished without needing to switch to x64 - arma could have it's own built-in implementation of a ram disk with it's configuration set through the UI.

    Underwater Warfare?

Even with a rebreather, you're not going to get out of the other dangers of diving - nitrogen narcosis, oxygen toxicity, DCS, the squeeze.... not to mention box jellyfish and fire coral :P

Will we finally see craters after an explosion?

That would be wicked. Just think.. watching the shells arc in from an offshore battleship to come in and leave craters on the terrain... the craters deepening and widening as the ground gets further bombarded. Pipe dream? Probably. Localized terrain deformation is still pretty niche.

    Grass and other vegetation issues

It's a challenging dev question - if you have high grass/terrain obfuscation you need to spend the CPU cycles to support it. If you do, then do you raise the minimum system req's in order to incorporate it and make it mandatory for everyone. If you make it a toggle-able option it suddenly becomes an 'eye candy' feature and anyone doing MP will toggle it off in order to see you snaking through the grass thinking nobody can see you.

Meh, the problem with 64bit is that all your pointers are now 2x as big, so you actually will use more memory. Additionally, the instructions are slightly larger. Just leaping to a 64bit app won't give you an amazing performance increase.. and if you're thinking about loading all game data (textures, etc) into ram (and you're hitting your head against the the 3GB memory limitation with 32bit apps on windows) that data has to be read from the disk INTO ram at some point. Best just head on over to newegg and get yourself a SSD -- and while you're at it, go ahead and send me a OCZ Z-Drive R2 as well. I'll send you a christmas card if you do.

Completely untrue, ragdoll physics adds to the game in immeasurable ways Observe the additional realism that ragdoll adds to the game - I've extracted what you need to see. Notice that just by the visual effect of the ragdoll physics we can instantly ascertain that Corporal Humor here, while in a full sprint, was instantly gunned down, without mercy, by who could only be Ensign W0lle. Thus, ragdoll adds to the game. it tells a story visually, viscerally.
