Thank you for taking an interest in the ArmA Operations Tactical Gaming Community for ArmA II Standalone. The Community was made after frustration from several realism oriented players who wanted to play in a mature, cooperative environment without the restrictions of a realism unit with ranks. After searching for a server that would play something else other than Domination or Evolution, no results were found. So those few who were left playing ArmA II decided to brave the normality and try something new. The community that was birthed from this action was ArmA Operations. We are a community that prides itself on being one of the only tactical gaming communities left in ArmA II that uses the ACE2 and ACRE mods. There are no ranks in ArmA Operations, only membership statuses differ. At first, everyone is a non-reg (Non Regular) member as they have yet to participate in the community enough to warrant a full membership status. After the person has participated in at least three different sessions, they are granted a promotion to Regular status, thus becoming a full member. However, if the community decides that this person does not have the proper attitude or creates too many problems a vote can be taken to refuse that person membership status. There is a membership status that does not grant any extra privleges other than forum access to specific threads. This membership status is called "Honor" status. An Honor member is nothing more than someone who has contributed to the community above and beyond what is normally required. They are also experts in fields of ArmA II, such as mission making, recruiting, public affairs, and other aspects not mentioned. ArmA Operations incorporates custom islands into its modpack, as well as the ACE2 and ACRE mods. ACE2 or the Advanced Combat Environment 2 mod is a full total conversion mod which revamps the game. It adds many new features such as an improved medical system, weapons resting feature for added stability, rucksacks, Improved AI skill and recognition, new weapons and attatchments, and much more. Custom Islands add variety of scenery during all of our missions. It can be very boring to play on the same island for weeks at a time. Going from Winter to Summer seasons, as well as forests to lush open green fields can be as refreshing as a new mission. The ACRE mod, or the Advanced Combat Radio Environment mod utilizes Teamspeak 3 (Which is our primary communication program) to create a realistic in-game communications system. It is by far one of the best mods ever created (Excluding ACE and ACE2) and is a must to play in our community. Although a Microphone is preferred, it is not required to PLAY in our community. However, it IS required to be granted regular membership status. It is imperative that you are able to communicate in a timely fashion during gameplay, especially when engaged in combat and you need orders to be carried across in a precise and timely manner. There is no age limit to play within the ArmA Operations Tactical Gaming Community, but there is a Maturity Limit. You must be mature to play within the community. If you are a rambo type player or someone who doesn't like to work as a team, then we simply do not want you to play with us. We are serious in-game, and sometimes we just screw around like any other person when its late. Although we take ArmA II very seriously, we realize its still a game at the end of the day and people do not enjoy being yelled at or having orders barked at them when they just want to relax and play. It is a serious environment during missions, but its friendly and everyone has a mutual way to play that they enjoy. Tactical Gaming at its finest, without the realism unit bollocks.
