    It's not an RTS, and shouldn't be IMO. Not only that, but I'd rather not be in command of any unit in this game until BI gets their head together and fixes AI/player commanding. As a team leader, I should have direct control of my team. As a squad leader, I should have control of my team leaders and only my team leaders. And so on and so on. As for the player gradually becoming a commander (company or battalion commander? You kidding?), it's not realistic. A corporal isn't going to become a sergeant or staff sergeant over the course of a few days or months (probable time frame for a game). And he'd definitely not become a CPT or LTC. Sure, the game could have you switch to different characters. But even then, I wouldn't want that with the current functionality, and the kind of stuff you're talking about would be at the general staff level (your generals). For something like that, you're talking about managing a bunch of stuff, with no, and I do mean no, combat whatsoever. If you're managing force buildup, alliances, battle formations, etc then you're not going to be seeing combat during that gameplay. I'm all for different gameplay, but it needs to be realistic.
  3. The Red Pegasus name was made by BIS, originally intended to be a private engineering company by the head of Iranian weapons research, general attar. I just made a security force that shared the same name, that's all. The helmets are actually borrowed from vilas open source A2 model pack. So I used those, but the uv map for it is weird, so the texture comes out weird. I'll see about fixing the shadow in the next update.

    It is (KH-2002 Khaybar) and is based on the Chinese Norinco CQ, and seems to be based on the QBZ-95 design-wise. The MX is not the Masada ACR. AngelWingGamingJacob is simply mistaken/blind lol.

    Well, the t-90s just might be replaced by Arma 3's T-100. The older tanks really would still be around. However, considering the limited factions and Mediterranean area, a super-powered or equal-powered Iran would probably only have the latest Russian tank (T-100), and the AAF would most likely have Western equipment, so old British tanks and aircraft. It's not that far-fetched. What is more far-fetched is the AAF having FN-2000s (Mk. 20s). They'd most likely have M16s or M4s. Osprey would be an old aircraft but, yeah, might be used. However, that's something that is used exclusively by the USMC. The US Army doesn't use Ospreys, so they wouldn't be used in 2035 by the Army. Story-wise, there's no reasonable explanation that NATO or CSAT would be using old equipment other than Western countries maybe not having money to develop new equipment. Then again, they are using some old equipment. Sure, it's newer than now, but there's already a stealth Blackhawk. There's the ACR, which looks similar to the MX. There's Crye Combat uniforms, and Israeli Merkavas and MH-9 helicopters. Besides the T-100 (basically a redesigned T-90) and MX (basically a redesigned ACR/SCAR, US military has been looking for a replacement rifle for a while now), just about everything is modern 2013 stuff. This is really off-topic, honestly, but there's nothing un-modern about the stuff in Arma 3. Now, as far as the cut content goes, they should have just improved the F-35 as it'd still be used. Matter of fact there really is no other appropriate aircraft if the upcoming NATO aircraft is intended to be an American aircraft.

    That's because they originally were going to be Iran. And really they still are. But just like NATO is really just the US soldiers, CSAT is really just Iran here.

    Dude, why are you using the l-39za when you have the l-159 alma in-game which is the same model, uv and all, as the l-39 in operation arrowhead AND the L-159 in the ACR DLC? Just use the BIS vanilla one. I could even get you a config together with the texture from ACR. I'd also suggest giving the Czech forces the standard NATO faces. Not sure about minorities in the ACR but maybe there's a way to exclude the black faces if there aren't. With the ported backpacks, looks like something's weird with the shadows. Backpack in one of the screens in the previous post looks like it has texture issues.

    I may or may not be adding the USMC to some form of my Mediterranean Operations pack... It wouldn't be standalone but they'd look like Marines. Sabre's USMC are about the closest thing right now.

    Are you extracting the A3MP.part1.rar file? I'm not sure why you're having issues. Only thing I can think of is that your files got corrupted during the download so the only thing I can suggest is to redownload again.

    I'd suggest this as well. Not sure if 7-zip extracts them right (where it'll read from all the rar files). Winrar is worth the money.
  16. Not at the moment. Currently I'm using BIS's black MX rifles and am sticking with the whole 2035 scenario. Might start using the new "Adapt" NATO beret as well. Also, really hoping that BI would add some larger ships sometime soon. I'd like to have Iranian Navy destroyers and frigates. Doesn't make sense that there are no such vessels.
  17. So, I really apologize for the nearly month-long silent hiatus. Been busy this past month. Got AC4 and sorta took a break from ArmA 3. That said, I have done some work on the mod. All units use black weapons. Fixed some outstanding issues on some stuff. Changed up the Chinese camo pattern. Plus some additional things. I'm away from the computer right now, but later tonight I should have some new screens if not an update. I'll try to get it out today or tomorrow. After this 1.30 update, I'll put out another that'll finally address the icons. For now, I've been thinking about using some generic icons based on the type of item, e.g. all ECH helmets will have a gray ECH icon, all OPSCORE FAST helmets a gray fast icon, and so on. And I'm thinking about doing it that way because of the large amount of different items that are in this addon. If I were to make icons for each individual item with their different camouflage patterns, it'd be a whole lot of image files.

    And that's what InstaGoat is saying. Most of the vanilla content in Arma 2 was stuff that was ported from Arma 1, VBS2, OFP:E, OFP:R, and OFP. Vanilla stuff. And that, even though it was more content, most of that "more" content came from previous games. Being that Arma 3 is set in 2035, the stuff is new, and therefore from scratch, and therefore consists of fewer content than Arma 2 vanilla.

    Canton would suggest China. In reality, there's already a "new" Warsaw Pact. It's called the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, and is primarily a political, military, and economic alliance between Russia and China, as well as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Afghanistan, Iran, India, Mongolia, and Pakistan have observer status. Turkey is trying to become a member.

    That's what I use over 7zip (the current program chondo999 is using, according to those screens). Besides it being more reliable, I can easily change the contents of the rar by simply dragging and dropping.

    That's what I thought. I've tried F.A.T.A. and Helmand and didn't get that issue (did get that issue with AiA during the Alpha and Beta). I'll try out Aliabad as I used to get that issue with that water line issue with that terrain. As for including and making the mod compatible with custom terrains, well this mod really shouldn't. Definitely shouldn't include those terrains. Honestly, just having the A2 maps and associated objects and vegetation should make those custom islands and terrains work.
