  1. I'm trying to lock certain weapons to single shot only, and prevent any kind of burst or full auto fire. This would include the player's weapon. I searched for about an hour to no avail, so any help will be greatly appreciated.

    ARMA 3 Addon Request Thread

I'd like to see a storage capacity changer for gear. I don't find it believable or convenient to only be able to fit one rifle mag on a battle belt and then stick 25+ mags in a vest. Also, I'd love to see an optics pack. Aimpoint Micros and Trijicon RMRs (both with and without riser mounts), EOTechs (of varying types), any kind of 1-4x scopes, and perhaps some fixed power magnified optics with a small red dot on a 45° mount (if that's even possible) or piggyback on the optic.
  3. Understood. I don't expect mods to be done in a matter of weeks, and I don't expect to be good at modding even within a year. What I'm getting at is I'd like to see an accomplished weapon maker, ie Robert Hammer or someone of his caliber, post from start to finish what he does to make a gun. From that I can mimic exactly what he does and encounter the inevitable problems along the way, but I'll have clear guidance on how to resolve it. From that I can develop my own methods of operation. This is how I've been taught my entire life, and how I learn best. I'm sure I'm not the only one, not by far.
  4. Understood, and thanks for your well thought out response. My response isn't directed at you, more of just thinking out loud. I've come to terms with the fact that modding in this community is mostly trial and error. The reason why I haven't been able to get anywhere is because I simply don't have enough hours in a week to hunt down resources for each individual thing. To be clear, that's not a complaint or the fault of anyone. When I first started entertaining the idea of making my own mod, I was puzzled by the fact that no one has made a step by step guides, from start to finish, for very common things in the game, for instance weapons. Starting with a weapon modelling guide, encompassing everything from common problems to optic creation, and how to have your character hold it. Then cover how to create and implement muzzle flashes, gun fire sounds, ammo types, and now that A3 is out, reload animations. Even if someone took the time to gather all that info and provide the links in chronological order this would suffice. I realize what I'm asking for is too much and mostly unrealistic, but if seeing the modding community blossom into something that thrives and produces frequent and quality content, I believe that is the solution.
  5. While I completely understand what you're saying and where you're coming from, that's exactly the reason there are few new modders. I personally would love to dive in to the world of modding. I have some clear ideas down on paper ready to go. But the lack of clear direction has made me very hesitant. I don't expect people to spend their time helping newbies, but if no one does, you can't expect enough people to start modding.
  6. I've been playing the series since 2009 and am absolutely in love with the game, but playing alone or in unorganized pub servers is getting a bit stale. My time zone is GMT (-7). I'm looking for a group that has organization and communication but mostly focuses on fun and enjoyment. I've been playing tactical and team based games since 2005 so coordination comes natural to me. If any group like that is currently recruiting let me know.
  7. Thanks for the weapon selection thing. It'll take some time, but I'm sure I can figure that out. As far as ending my mission goes, I'm still unclear as to what to do. I have an End #1 type trigger down, and I can get the screen to fade to black once the objectives are met, but the mission still isn't ending. Perhaps someone could show me verbatim what to type into each box? EDIT: Problem solved. I had to rename each trigger to END1, END 2, etc. Thanks for the help!
  8. Disclaimer: I'm completely new to editing and this is my first user-made mission. I've spent hours searching for solutions to no avail. I would like to know how to do two things I often see in custom missions. First, I would like a briefing screen before the mission starts where the player can select his own loadout. I would also like there to be a very wide selection of weapons. Second, I'm trying to figure out how to get a fade to black once my mission is complete. I'm doing a simple town skirmish and I'm trying to get the screen to fade to black once all the OPFOR are either dead or outside the trigger area. I've seen some tutorials on this but my problem is I'm able to get the fade out once all OPFOR are dead, but the mission doesn't end. I just sit there with a black screen and the game keeps on going. Any help here would be much appreciated.
  9. Hey everyone, in the Private Military expansion on the third mission where you're supposed to clear the barricades with satchels the game doesn't seem to let me do it. My problem is I can't select the satchels. I know you can either use the mouse scroll wheel or the F key to select them but neither will bring up satchels. I'm completely certain I have them in my inventory. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I'm assuming that's the problem?

    PMC Mission 3: Confirmation help

I'm aware of that, I have them out of my backpack and actually in my inventory next to my mags and they still don't work.
