  1. \if its there already they will ignore, so it dosn't hurt to do so. but if it wasn't you just added it. thats the cool thing of this sort of project manager. just post the ticket URL here so it can be supported, and explain why but for the love of god make the title clear, and be concise in the summary. having done alphas before, the feedback tracker makes me facedesk with some of the really "informative" titles

    if you want BIS to do this in vanilla post it in the feedback tracker, thats being very actively monitered by them most of the time is suspect its like paradox, anything that on the forums has to be transfered to the tracker by staff if the community won't do it

    its not a game yet, its a bloody alpha, and a really polished one at that. its even playable, with AI, and all the text in it. most alpha's have no playability, and no AI at this stage (or one that only works on script) most QA leads i have been under make it clear that the only preformence issues in alpha you report are either CTD causing, or ones that make feature testing impossible. since you can interact in the game and play and fight well enough frame rate is not a issue

    hate to tell you, optimization is normally the last thing thats done. alot of people are forgetting this is alpha, this is feature testing, there is no point tuning features that are either not complete, or maybe removed

    the other thing is that A2 FM is more affected by physx and the TOH one is less intergrated, so AI and player interactions have to be lined up this is suspect could be funny as hell if the physx and TOH start making some of the variables double and stuff like that

    TOH is meant to be coming, but there are issues with implementation, like balencing the SP stuff for either realism, or ease of use. the alpha is mainly infantry focused, and if the post i read is correct the new FM might not be in until beta. also the lead on TOH said that its about a months work for each heli to get its own flight model so...
  10. its stuff like this this and the sim city launch (your not alone with a rocky start!) kinda explains 2 things; one, preloading a game (less applicable here since its alpha, and it more a steam thing) two, regional role outs, even if its over the course of a day to try and stage the load Random question, at what point did the store/server tech (if you have one) start getting scared/suprised
  11. now its pretty much over, and once you get everything sorted out, this is probally something to be proud of, you managed to tank all/most of your servers for something like 12 hours due to demand (maybe not something to be proud of for the person in charge of estimating demand) thats a good metric i think :D and your getting it sorted far quicker then some other systems like this i have been involded in so kudos to you

    placebo (one of the team) said that they had added on 10x the hardware they had for TOH or carrier command, so the numbers must have been rather high (understatement much?) but they are still dealing with it so i would wait awhile and then maybe try the twitter account they have

  14. i literally just got it now. @Cdr; i'm a kiwi as well, i sent the support link on the store a email, with the details of the purchase and my my paypal recipet. if you have a transaction log on your internet banking (if you use it) you can probably find the order number that it was referenced as and send that to them to speed up the process and i wasn't expecting this to be fixed until 2 am tomorrow, so thank you to anyone/whoever is still up and trying to fix this.     can confirm this. the updater has actually changed as well it looks more like a microsoft dl client. and you also have the delta patch ability source games use a completely different system though, it think its due to the shared asset thing where they are all really extreme mods to the base engine
  17. production has stoped anyway i'm fairly sure, in fact i think f22 production has stoped as well. i read something about all the production gear having been scraped for both systems already
  18. yeah pretty much, i live in NZ, so never buy off steam, i save ~40USD and i get all the benifits of steam
  19. my advice is to buy it of the BI store and use the code to unlock it on steam if your worried. its listed at 32.99 USD, 49.99 USD and 91.99 USD on the store so thats what it should be
  20. best bet is that whatever was in the demos for E3 and the press is in (so maybe the f35) and we know at least 1 heli is in (otherwise why a heli demo mission/test) the impression i get is that this is simply meant to be a better version of the press demo for intial testing across many rigs, and start getting community feedback (and see what we can break :D) they then probally want to patch and increase the test load (like all the other aphlas and beta's i've been in)
  21. i'm having 2 problems with the sproket downloader. first it says 250kb/s but i'm leaving it for hours at a time and coming back it goes from 12mb downloaded to 15mb (3mb/3600sec). the second is once it hits 15mb it restarts with reconnecting to server then it bloody restarts. i have tried 2 different computers, every aviable server and i have redownload mission Gaea to prove that the sproket system works (thats over a gig). i'm wondering if anyone has experinced this and has a fix, or is their a direct download link. i do wonder if its because i live in New Zealand but if thats the case why is the download and sale not region locked or at least a warning

    thank you very much, its only 5 times faster (currently 1.5mb/s) and its not pausing!
