  1. *silently weeping* Anyone have any working mirrors?
  2. I LOVE the sound of the distant firefight towards the end. The fighting actually sounds like it's in the distance, instead of up if your face. The way the "echo" (yes, I'm clearly no sound engineer :P) bounces around you gives a whole different presence of the player being semi-away from the fighting, but still not quite out of harms way. Looking forward to this :D
  3. Few issues I've encountered ( !!! OBVIOUSLY SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAS YET TO PLAY THIS !!! ): I don't remember the names of the missions, but I hope the general description is enough to identify it. I haven't gotten far into the campaign, so there might be more missions like these later on. I play with JSRS, but that shouldn't have any impact on mission related stuff. At base: Storing a weapon with a suppressor (At least in regards to the MK18) in your box will delete the suppressor. It will not be in the box, and not on the weapon. Escort the VIP from the Airfield mission: 1. While picking up the VIP you can loot the IFV parked outside the airfield. I'm guessing this is not intentional. On the way out of the green-zone I drove a bit too fast and ended up barely bumping into the AAF checkpoint. The guy that was supposed to check on us walked THROUGH the blockade and stopped in front of the car - he continued to stay here indefinitely (or at least for a few minutes). Loading after this would lock up all keyboard controls. Reverting the mission to the start solved the issue. 2. When delivering the VIP to the airfield I (again) drove a bit too fast and rammed straight through the AAF checkpoint. No one seemed to mind so I just carried on. When I got back to the airfield and parked in front of it, people started screaming about missing guards and traps so I hoofed it away from the airfield. After realizing no one was following me I returned to the airfield and parked again. Mission complete. AAF checkpoint duty mission (Checkpoint Charlie?): 1. Just started the mission. Helicopter pilot touches down for 1/8th of a second before flying back up and remaining in hover. If I eject (obviously when the helicopter is about to land), it will still fly back up with my buddy. It will hover for a bit and then land to drop him off. 2. Once it got dark and the soldiers started attacking I just had to let my buddy take care of them while I took cover in the grass (I think) as best as I could. It was PITCH BLACK. Only way to see the enemy was to look for muzzle flashes, but more often than not buddy would take care of them before they opened fire. I know this is because it's simply dark during the night, but it doesn't make for good gameplay. Having the moon up will at least make it so that you can see something on the ground. After returning to base everything was pitch black as well, but I did manage to make my way out of the base by following the lights of fellow MERCS and then heading away from them - then using the TacPad to fas forward time until it became bright again. Looking back at this I guess a workaround for it is to never start a new mission without waiting until 7am or so the next day (although that was not easy to predict before going in). I have played a few more mission past these and other than these issues mentioned above everything seems fine. Very interesting stories!
  4. Might be unrelated, but worth a mention. Once the mission is out, this might be the location of Igors ship wreck.
  5. Newest terminal mail: Letter replacement translates to IN LUSUS VERITAS #ARMA3 It is latin for PLAYING IN REALITY #ARMA3.
  6. Only the blog is "actually confirmed" to be part of the ARG - but that hasn't been updated on the first post yet(this is the only thing that openly admits to being part of the ARG, and have the same host). Everything else is speculation. Seeing as the m26.node-42 site(that started it all, sort of) is on the same domain as the blog you can call this confirmed as well. Everything else is very plausible leads. I wouldn't look at it as "actually confirmed", since this is an ARG - and things are not really confirmed until the gamemaster want you to know what it is. Think of it instead as "not confirmed fake". As long as things are not flagged as false, they're still up in the air and could still mean something. Everything in the first post is, as far as I know at least, relevant. edit: Figure I might as well post this here since the first post hasn't been updated yet. It's a recap I wrote yesterday on my groups forum of what I know since we discovered Tom__Larkin.
  7. A question to clear things up. Is Jerry Hopper an actual, living person or is it an alias someone has taken for various BIS events? I assumed it was a fake ID for a PR-character. Also, the embassy freight website is up again. The rv4a4.org site remains offline. EDIT: Rv4a3.org is back up. Let's not crash it this time.
  8. Linkedin profile for Jerry Hopper. Not sure if this has any relevant information - and judging from the picture I believe it could be a troll. Posting it at any rate in case someone else can find something there that I can not. http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=29988595&authType=NAME_SEARCH&authToken=m3-4&locale=en_US&srchid=eb04d502-cf8f-43d3-bf9a-48a8cd216b94-0&srchindex=2&srchtotal=16&goback=%2Efps_PBCK_*1_Jerry_Hopper_*1_*1_*1_*1_*2_*1_Y_*1_*1_*1_false_1_R_*1_*51_*1_*51_true_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2_*2&pvs=ps&trk=pp_profile_name_link Edit: He is also now listed as working for Embassy Freight Services, the domain name holder of rv4a3.org. The domain information for the website(rv4a3.org) got updated just now according to the whois. I'm not sure what has changed since I did not save a copy from earlier - but at least there are phone numbers and emails to the "admin", Marco. http://who.is/whois/rv4a3.org
  9. This is probably a bit too late for your case, but I ran into the same problem and figured I might as well post this for other people who run into the same problem. For me it wasn't the same area as for you though. You were missing "Hermitage", while I was missing the "woodlet". Check the spoiler section bellow for the coordinated of all the "discovery" areas. There are a total of 6 of these, in addition to the "special" tasks and the main areas.
  10. Having the same issue when launching through Steam. Latest RPT entry: However, when launching through SixUpdater using more or less the same launch parameters the game starts. I have also, tried copying the SU parameters down to the letter, but that didn't help either. SU parameters: "-mod=G:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\ArmA 2;expansion;ca;expansion\beta;expansion\beta\expansion" -noSplash -noPause -noFilePatching -showScriptErrors "-name=Nixxen" Edit: The space in the above line should not be there. Can't remove it with edit post... If I launch from steam with "-mod=G:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\Common\ArmA 2;EXPANSION;ca;expansion\beta" excluding the last "Expansion\beta\Expansion" the game starts, but of course doesn't load the "expansion" expansion.

    ArmA 2 site hacked

Well, If this is a major physics engine upgrade I really hope they release an improved net code with it, because the current one really bring a decent server to a crawl once enough stuff is happening. Just as an example. Try spawning 100-200 AI + vehicles and bring in 50 human players + vehicles. Check server load and server FPS. Now imagine that same load but in addition the need to calculate extreme physics. Ouch...

از ماست که بر ماست The text signature in the email. This also seems to be a facebook group with posts trailing back to 13th july 2010, so most definitely unrelated. Hoped I could get some decent info on the meaning of the saying, but the about info translation turned into gibberish. If you'd like to check it out the FB address is bellow. http://www.facebook.com/pages/%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA-%DA%A9%D9%87-%D8%A8%D8%B1-%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA/125662844144095

    ArmA 2 site hacked

Just for the sake of having something to do, The whois for p8h8 sais it's registered via hostmonster, but with no personal name of and kind - only the hostmonster tech/admin/billing phone number and fax. You could try contacting hostmonster and try to have them deliver the name of the registrant of p8h8, claiming he is a member of an eastern extremist hacker group ;)
