    1/2 off Iron Front

Of course it is worth six quid - that's a bargain.
  2. I am not sure where this comes from - I have heard it on various forums that somehow Pw6 and SU screw up Arma, cause you to get BE banned, causes cancer, is responsible for most of the troubles in the Middle East and all kinds of other nonsense! None of this is true. They both make installing I44 (as well as a lot of other mods) a breeze. I have been using them for a long, long time (SU particularly) and have never had any issues. Pw6 especially is so easy to use it's a no-brainer to use it. Also, whenever the guys here release updates to I44 - Pw6 will just download the differences, you will never have to download the whole thing again unless they re-pack every pbo!
  3. King Nothing - thanks for the explanation. Sometimes addons clash - shit happens! I am enjoying the RHSMOD version all the same anyway!
  4. Excellent stuff - having a browse now!

    Shame on FX Interactive

@annoluce - have you tried pursuing a refund through Amazon? I am not sure about Amazon.it but Amazon.uk have always been fair with me when I have had problems. As the retailer of the product they do have some responsibility with regard to quality of the products they sell (certainly in UK consumer law anyway). I know it is slightly different with Software, but it is worth a shot.
  6. For me it would cause problems every time, even when restarting the mission. Without the TPWAC mod I have had no problems. It's reproduce-able every time when I have this mod loaded. Been playing for an hour or so now without TPWAC and all is good!
  7. Getting lockups with this beta too in SP. Can't reproduce it in the editor, but it seems to happen during a firefight when AI are looking for targets. I noticed it playing the Forgotten Few mission, where it happens almost every time there are lots of AI firing (either ground troops or air). Using the previous beta it does not lock up at all. Using vanilla Arma 2 CO. If I manage to create a scenarion in the editor I will post up the mission. EDIT--> he symptoms are that it freezes for a couple of seconds every 5 seconds or so and sometimes just locks up completely requiring an end-task in task manager.
  8. Love the mission - currently playing the special version for the RHSMOD! I came across an issue with using this mission with the TPWC AI Suppression System. For some reason using this mod in conjunction with this mission causes the user dialogues to lock up (or operate extremely slowly). I don't know why it does this. I am not asking you to fix this by the way - we all use addons at our own risk, and I am happy with that. I just wanted to save some people some time troubleshooting this if they experience problems using the mod with this mission! Great work on this mission - it is a lot of fun!

    game support ?

Günter - their hands may be tied. If this was a legal situation there would be non disclosure agreements during and also possibly after the legal dispute - this is very common. Back in my corporate days working in the City of London I was involved in a few of these and I can tell you from experience that saying anything about it under an NDA is not a very advisable thing to do! I very nearly lost my job for mentioning something in a conference call that I should not have - an experience I learned from! Anyway it inspired me to switch my Dedi to IF for the evening and for my troubles I was owned completely in the Air Deathmatch. Whoever it was who continually shot me down I shake my fist at you - you rotter!
  10. Rumours of it's demise were apparently unfounded... http://forum.iron-front.com/showthread.php?1207-Iron-Front-discussion-about-what-will-happen-next-(the-one-and-only-topic)&p=11833&viewfull=1#post11833 I think servers will start to re-appear now that work on the game has re-started...

    game support ?

Excellent news indeed. Looks like someone resolved the Mexican Stand-off somehow. I salute you whoever you are!
  12. You're joking right? You mean Chernarus? The Island that comes with Arma 2?
  13. I have noticed that with this beta server connection times have drastically reduced. Is this just placebo or is it a expected result of the beta? Previously there was a delay of about 30 seconds on initial connection and then maybe another 30 seconds before I could do anything. Now it's instant (almost). I haven't changed anything on my server other than applying the beta.

    WARFARE BE2 *Rubber Ed*

@SpanishSurfer - that was an excellent intro to rubber warfare - it should be compulsory viewing for all new WF players! Thanks for taking the time to produce it. @Rubberkite - it may be a good idea to link to SpanishSurfer's post (or the video) in your first post here - I think that people will find it very useful.
  15. In a lot of respects you are just going to have to get used to this. Games these days are so big and complex that the 'issues list' at release time is going to be greater than it ever was. This, combined with the ease of patching and the number of people able to play and report errors is going to mean that post release patching is something that is always going to happen. I haven't seen a single game in the last few years that has not benefited from a series of post releases patches. If the 'style' of the game is not what you wanted or were expecting then this is something that the developers or publishers can't help with (unless it was falsely advertised which is extremely rare). If it is something that bothers you a lot then you are going to have to research a game more before buying it. Within days of a game release you should get a good idea of what it is from reading forums and reviews and watching YouTube play throughs. Lastly, a lot of people scream a game is 'broken' when it just has a few annoying bugs. Most of the time as with CC:GM the problems can be worked around. Also usually (and especially with BI) the developers do work to remedy the most annoying bugs.
  16. I think you're going to have a stressful time on these forums! I hate the term 'fanboy' it's so insulting and used in such a nasty way these days. There's nothing wrong with supporting a game, the developers or even (god forbid) a publisher if that's what someone wishes to do. Regardless of what you thing of the game at release, at least BI have a track record of working with the community to fix the problems - which is underlined by the fact they have already committed to fixing a lot of the issues people have reported in CC:GM. Lastly, I am a 'Dev' in real life (not games, but it doesn't matter) and have been for about 25 years now - 'devs' never release sofware. In fact, if it were up to 'devs', software would never get released as it would never be finished. There is always one last tweak or this or that which needs changing. Deadlines are almost always either political or commercial - which is probably a good thing as otherwise stuff would never get released! We pretend we hate project managers, and bitch and moan when we are given completely unrealistic deadlines, but in the end secretly we are glad as otherwise we would just carry on, and on, and on....
  17. I have had problems with this for a long time. The way I have resolved it is to set the following values in the cfg file; GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1; Since doing this I have not had any HDR flicker.
  18. No, I am pretty sure I was referring to CC:GM. Although my years are advancing I have not yet reached the point of senility where I have become that confused. That day will come I expect, but not just yet. To address your point though, in the campaign when I faced the enemy carrier it took me a good few sweeps to get him. The first three or four times he nearly destroyed my carrier with his guns (in fact he did destroy me once, but I re-loaded) - I had to limp off and call in fuel to repair each time. The last time, I just about disabled him before he disabled me. He certainly wasn't just sitting in the water. I have read the posts that say he doesn't attack, but as yet this has not happened to me. To be honest though - I pretty much ignore the enemy carrier in the strategy game - I prefer just taking the islands - and as someone else stated, it was the Walrus path finding which was mostly causing me trouble in the beginning. I just learned how to cope with it really.
  19. Thanks for the update on this. Really enjoying the game (apart from the FPS bits) so far. I have put about 50 hours in since release so those reports (admittedly on the new Steam discussion boards which can be somewhat over-reactive) that the AI issues are game-breaking are somewhat over stated!
  20. That's some error testing there! Confirmed here as well.

    AH-64 Pack

Looking very, very nice Franze. The cockpit is looking pretty amazing. Your closing sentiments were nicely put too. Anyway good luck with the continuing work!

    game support ?

You have obviously never been involved in a corporate legal case. I was involved in one that lasted nearly 5 years! That was all about around 1000 lines of code. Yes, it was more complex than that, but essentially that was the size of the disputed code.
