  1. I believe this has come up before, I think it basically acts the same as "target/attack that man", goat, whatever, rather than putting fire down on a fixed area. Saying that I've never noticed any of my AI lay down any heavier rate of fire even doing that though
  2. Yeah, thanks man I presumed this was the case, as I mentioned to the omnipresent and ever helpful Manzilla earlier it's not presented much of an issue but the recent Binks SF brought it up again as the replacements pack brings up an error saying something along the lines of "replace binks sf requires ACE C Men" or some shite, it just got me to thinking that there might be a minor issue with my ACE installation due to using the "old" zip extraction straight to addon folder, none of this new fangled Yoma or repositries me no sir....
  3. Hi, I have tried a quick search but havn't come up with anything( searching whilst at work so bare that in mind). I have seen it mentioned in other older ACE version threads but as far as I know no answers, I have ACE vers9 stable installed and even as far back as version7 stable I'm unable to actually set US man character as player in the editor. Let me explain, what I'm trying to convey is that they are there in the drop down and can place them on the map but as soon as I try to set is as player it gives me the usual list of playable factions but none being AE US. I hope the explaination at least makes sense and apologies in adavance if this has already been explained to death somewhere else.

Laser Show, the Mk20, Extensive recoil

I too found the patched recoil system to be a bit excessive at first, the only way that I managed to come to terms with it, so as to get a playable firefight, was to not use the breath hold/zoom function, I dont know why but doing so has become second nature over the course of time I've been playing ARMA so it was a difficult habit to break, it does however offer at least a modicomb of improved accuracy, particularly with the larger round rifles. I also find that I'm pretty much using aimpoints almost all of the time and have become quite handy over mid/long ranges using this method even if I do say so myself.

    ArmA 3

Yeah I'm definately getting a "lone wolf" vibe, at least for opening few missions, but I suppose it's a wee bit jaded not to mention premature to start bleeting about mission/storyline design just yet. I'll wait to start that when this thread gets to about 5-6 pages in:D

    ArmA 3

I Guess it's never too early to start fretting about whether or not my "just about capable of running ARMA2 at respectable settings PC" is going to handle this baby or not. So fret away it is then....

    ArmA 3

Just read this about 2mins ago, I'm not quite sure what to think, I'm somewhere between "Fuck YES!" and "fuck me I've barely started to scratch the surface of Arma2".
  8. Hi Tunedbeats, I myself am new to these forums despite lurking virtually for about 3 years, my advise if you are new to the game is to setup small engagements in the editor, you will be suprised at how quickly you learn the various nuances of how you AI team work and what their limitations are. I've only really been serious about the BI series since ARMA1(bought CWC in hindsight after) and have played the hell out of all the various iterations for both and still new things are being learned, only today I learned how to order coloured fireteams as a group instead of as individuals. My point is there is so much depth to this game that after 5+ years of playing them you'll still find somthing new and that's before you even start on the mods.

    Fireteam Segregation

Top Job Mate!!! The joy of solving ARMA related issues when I should be working. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll give it a go tonight.
  10. Hi All, I have had a look around with the search function(albeit a quick search at work) but alas nothing seems to have come up. I was wondering how to command various colour coded teams within my overall squad, what I mean is I already know how to assign colours to a particular fireteam e.g one team of three assigned as red team, another team of 3 blue, etc but it seems that despite being colour assigned you still have to give orders to the three individual members as apposed to say selecting one member of blue team and the other two members just follow. If my memory is correct I belive this was possible in ARMA1. Anybody know?
  11. Hi Demonized, Thanks for the link and suggestions, in all honesty I thought that a wrist slapping was imminent as I only very fleetingly tried a search before posting(at work you see). But I will definately try that when I get home as it seems to suggest the very thing I was after. Once again thankyou.
  12. Hi All, I been lurking around this place for some while now and finally decided to register and also (god forbid) actually post something. I was wondering whats the script or function that allows you to have the interior of the chopper illuminated e.g the red light during night insertions? Thanks in advance y'all.
