Well, ArmA's scale has always been finicky when Anti-Air comes in to play, at least for me. I mean, in a real life scenario, the missiles currently fired at aircraft can be insanely fast. For example, the newest Igla missile has a range of 6000M and can reach up to 400m/s. By way of comparison, Takistan wasn't but a little over 10km diagnonally, to fly across that is. So it's hard I would say, to get the balance between game and reality just right. Personally, I'd of liked to have seen a way to shake missiles without CM's. I mean, this isn't Top Gun, nor any other flick where it's a simple loop and you're home free, but you can't tell me pilots haven't evaded missiles without Countermeasures. But, I digress, in reference to your point, I personally have had adequate time to deploy flares. That being said, Stratis is but a wee baby island, so scale wise, for most operations, your ass might be damn near on top of an AA site, depending on the mission you're playing. So I can agree on the whole, that I think the system still needs some tweaking to allow for an adequate representation of military technology, AND give players, because after all this is a game, a slight chance to represent the pilot's end of it. Though A3 is still young, still Beta, and on the whole, BI has never disappointed me. I hope for the continued improvement, and honestly, I'd like the whole: "Hey, you're in an Armored Vehicle, what's that? Bush? DEATH TO YOUR INSOLENT FACE!" Damage model to be revamped. I find it funny that the initial public Alpha wasn't so bad, and I said to my friends: "Hurray guise, no more silly damage when mastering the fern in your lawn with your brand new Hunter!". Then it was just Nope.patch.sadface.

Howdy everyone, ][Niipaa and the DGN team here with another small release. Now, I understand that the "Tips" that the new DLC, Army of the Czech Republic (ACR), adds are helpful to the new influx of players. But to some ArmA veterans, if they feel similar to us here at DGN, they are downright degrading and insulting. Or just plain annoying to see blatant fact slapped in your face from time to time. So this Addon replaces all the old tips with new ones (59 Unique Texts So Far), all of them which will hopefully provide a cheap laugh. A formal disclaimer: We love Bohemia, and for the most part, its community. This Addon requires something you cannot download: A good sense of humor. If you don't have that, just move along and save yourself the rage. Without further ado though, the Readme.txt contents are as follows. Well howdy neighbors. The DGN Team have decided that instead of releasing our missions one by one, each with a different thread, that we would have a centralized release hub right here in the BIForums. This will save the forums extra clutter, our fans' time, and keep updating a breeze for ArmAholic and other community sites. While this will be small to start, our archives date back all the way to the A2 demo, and we are constantly creating new content. We are also updating our old content to our standards, by releasing missions that used to be just passed around internally. Our main mission team at the moment consists of two members, one being Genesis92x, and myself, ][Niipaa. @Variable, Most of our missions DO implement Norrin's Revive, for the simple fact that neither Genesis nor myself could never get our team to agree on not having it. (Some people are just baddies). I agree with your post, and with your standpoint, but in the sake of pleasing all, we have implemented it with the simple option to turn it off in the Mission Parameters. I hope that will work for you, as we are eager for feedback and support. -

I will be weeding out any errors today and possibly adding some more. Other than that, being that this is such an easily made and small addon, it will only be updated once every two weeks at the minimum. Unless there is some major change that needs to roll out. Well, not sure if Dom still checks around these parts with College and all, but I've been thinking of my final send off to the ArmA community. And nothing would satisfy me more than having it be a final, working version of DGN Core to go alongside Degeneration. Some of the ideas I've been thinking of are as follows in no particular order: A deep and comprehensive gear system that ensures every round is cherished before going the skull of a zombie. What this means, and provided the A2 engine will allow it, is an entirely new way of handling ammo. The scenario in my mind is such - You find an M4 with 4 Magazines. You expend one magazine. That empty magazine will no longer disappear into the endless void of ArmA, but instead be re-added to your inventory as an empty magazine. Now you find a 100-Round Carton of 5.56/.223, and you can use it to refill your empty magazine back to full. On the flip-side, if you want to empty out a couple of magazines to say, link the ammo together for a M249 SAW, provided you have the links, then you can do just that. The possibilities are quite large, once the base system is employed and kinks/exploits/glitches/and ArmA Magic are accounted for. When I get back home in two weeks I can better explain if you'd like, if you think it has a place in Degeneration. That's not the only thing on my mind either, as it's been hunting ways to add depth, to get all that is possible in the addon side of Degeneration. To not only ease the load on the mission itself, but add new layers of game mechanics and fun as well. But all that can wait. On behalf of VVC, I would like to thank everyone thus far for there fervorous support, bug testing, and work, to help Degeneration reach the stage it's at now. It has been quite the couple years of work, and the community is due a thank you for it's support during that time. This thank you goes out to all to the past, present, and future fans. I would also like to thank Rexx for providing me with a heads up to Version 2 Keys/Signing, allowing DGN_Core to be more functional for its user base, the fixed Degen2.paa, and a new parameter. Glad you're enjoying it Foss, hopefully the mission will continue to keep the community happy and content. As for me, yet another DGN release is due, however, this is a special release. For it is the first, and hopefully last, release that was not made specifically with Degeneration in mind. However, it is still 100% backwards and forwards compatible with all other versions of Degeneration, and DGN Core. I just needed to make a few custom units for an upcoming Operation of mine, and I felt it unnecessary to create an entirely new addon for them, so I snuck them into to DGN. How very classy J Rock. Allow me to make something clear, as I apparently have not done so yet. I am not some facist addon maker who forces these changes down your throat. If you do not like something I do, the solution is quite simple lad. Download. Another. Version. Or. Fix. It. Yourself. (Source is now officially released alongside 2.1b. Link at the bottom of my post) With that being said, you can have a fantasy scenario with a realistic approach, and the development of DGN_Core will continue with this vision in mind. I've had no problem accruing ammo for M4s, Avtomat Kalashnikov 47s and 74s, G36s of all shapes and sizes, M240s, or PKs. My suggestion to you is to aim true, and keep your soldier in shape, as I've out run many a horde with nothing but boot power. Much love homie, and remember, it's only a game. Dom, if you're still using Adobo Premiere Pro CS4, try these settings. When setting up a new project, when you get to the "New Sequence" window, check the "Sequence Presets" tab, and you should see AVCHD and if you drop that down, you should see 1080p. Under that try AVCHD 1080p30. Unless that's what you've been using. Honestly I haven't been able to get the same crispness my earlier DiRT videos have from WMM, but I've been trying. Leisure Drive was my only Premiere Pro release, and it is in that AVC Format if you were curious. Anyways grats on the release/fans as always. See you 'round. -

The DGN Crew will be composing a rather lengthy backstory (Between us we have almost a decade's experience Writing, and years of experience with the Degeneration mission). Once a stable Beta is achieved, you will start seeing more and more lore on the history of not only Chernarus' outbreak, but those of the past (Sahrani, Takistan, and a few others), how it started, notable characters, eyewitness accounts, and other things. All of which will tie directly into the Side Missions and Main Mission of Degeneration, as well as the fate of past survivors and the future of our current ragtag band of undead fights, which you yourself will write as you play so to speak. -

Hello J Rock, The mission is classified as Sandbox due to how there are multiple paths to not only one goal, but in the fact that there is no linear way to do something. The player can choose wether surviving with his friends is just good enough, or they can push their luck to search for helicopter parts, or find a stronger holdout. Sandbox more or less just means that everything is left up to player choice, and the mission has the capability to play out many ways. Or so, that is my understanding of it. DGN Core 1.8a Released. Changelog: Version 1.8a -Emergency Update- Readme Updated. Now contains 1.7a for V1 BI Signatures (User Preference), and 1.6a to revert changes/V1 BI Signatures (User Preference) Utilizes BI's updated Signatures (Version 2), which are supposedly better all around. From my ArmAholic post: Before I begin, I hope this is the right location for this, and if not I apologize for the inconvenience in advance for: Moving, Deleting, Editing, Etc. this thread. Anywho! With all the years I've been using ArmAholic, I've never given anything back, and I feel like it's time to change that. This isn't much, but I hope it will help those who are having a hard time finding the right info for their missions. This is a complete Classlist Suite, including a Library of every single weapon, backpack, magazine, gear, etc. to be included in A2, OA, ACE2, and ACEX. This may a little outdated as with all the ACE updates, but it should certainly get you on your way. There are also scripts to implement in your own missions if you so please, which are organized into sections. The Readme.txt This is a complete Suite of Classnames and Scripts to be used with ACE 2 for OA/CO. Somethings may be missing or incorrect and will be adjusted as time goes on. The Magazines Section of the Library is far from complete, so if you choose to use this, bear with me. As for using/editing/etc, go wild. It's just some text. To open the classlist library, you must have Notepad++ installed. As it pains me to say Krisrules, it's doubtful. ACE, though disputed, is an integral part to Degeneration. Providing a lot of the features, content, and gameplay mechanics that really make Degeneration what it is. I'll ask Genesis when he's get back, but I would caution you to not get your hopes up. -

Gentlemen, I apologize for the lack of presence on behalf of Genesis' part as well as my own. Please know, that life has caught up with both of us, and he is currently on Vacation. I'm not going to much help, in terms of getting the needed files, but I can tell you this. When running servers, it should be setup like so. Please note, that I don't know if he uploaded his latest Host and Client versions, but I hope I can at least clear some things up before life swallows me whole again. For Listen Servers: The Host of the Listen Server must be running the Host Version (This version is denoted by having the chn_undead_control.pbo and .bisign as part of the archive). While Clients must run the Client version, denoted by the lack thereof a chn_undead_control.pbo and .bisign. For Dedicated Servers: The Server itself must be running the Host Version, while ALL Clients must be runnning the Client Version. Remember, even just one person running the Control PBO will be enough to break the AI for the Infected. I hope this has been some help, and I'll remind Genesis to double check here first thing when he gets home. I apologize for any inconvenience and frustration the lack of support may have been causing. -
